The benefits to Nintendo would be the Switch would have 2 different libraries of games, how would that not help sales of it even more? Buy a Switch and get Nintendos own games and an Xbox library as well? They're not making this happen fast enough, IMO. I don't see how anyone who calls themselves a gamer can argue against it beyond some arbitrary reason.
Besides, it even more ridiculous that people are against something that, if happened, would be completely optional. They don't like the idea of it and think that's basis enough that no one else should have it or want it.

I find the list weird that 'collections' are included as games in the series. Sure they have bonus stuff added, but it's mostly separated from the games which are in themselves ranked individually. Makes for a weird list to me.

Mega Man X is truly a wonderful game. Mega Man 2 and 3 are my favourites. I don't know that I could even choose between them. Mega Man 2 is just such a solid and well made game. Mega Man 3 had a couple flaws, but when that first came out, I remember how enthralled me and my friends were. Breakman, who was this mysterious guy? And the shock of beating the first 8 masters and expecting Wily only to have 4 'new' stages that had the 8 masters from MM2!!

Who cares what someone at Nintendo told him. Nintendo saying no is normal, even when they are working on stuff. They deny everything until they are ready to say otherwise.
Not saying xCloud is happening, but I don't take Nintendo saying no to some analyst as a fact.

Nintendo could have this lined up for tomorrow and would still say "no, absolutely not'.

I get why they do this, but it's a hopeless battle they'll never win nor ever stop this happening.

This is really just crap they try to justify hiding behind. He says this, Miyamoto says this all the time and it's Nintendos seemingly generic response about a franchise like F-Zero, but at the same time they will churn out stuff like Mario games, which I'm sorry, most of which have not had any 'grand new ideas' in a long time.

What this really means is the franchise isn't as big and financially successful as their major ones, so they aren't willing to do anything with it.

I've had mine for years and it works fine. No cracks, no drift in any of my Joycons, no whining when it's running anything.

Even if they did launch a new one, good luck getting one with the current hardware shortages.

The biggest difference here is that Sega is a shell of a former self, Sonic lost his popularity and the quality of the games declined. Sega needed to look elsewhere to help save their franchise.
Nintendo simply doesn't need to do it.

Nintendo had a decent free online service with Wii U, surprisingly enough, but then stripped features, made it worse and started charging for it. Now they're surprised people dislike it?
It's truly a case of you get what you pay for, which is how they get away with it. Yeah, it's cheap....but you don't get much, lacking even basic functionality.

I got the Wii version and couldn't play it. Couldn't stand the controls long enough to even have the flipped world bother me.

As much as sites and people want to condemn it, emulation and distribution of ROMs/ISOs has done far more for the preservation of video games than any company has.
You can pretty much find any game, in any format it was in. You can also find alphas, betas, cut content, original versions of games, unedited versions of games. There's a plethora of content that otherwise would not have seen the light of day that has not only been preserved in this way, but also made available, as shady as it may be.

The cover art for this game is good in both instances.
Sadly, it's also by far the best thing about it.

The forced gimmick DS stylus and microphone controls are the sole reasons I hate both DS Zelda games.

I've played some of these games so much with the slowdown, that I play with it just fine and have decades of knowing to just compensate for it. Take it out and it really messes me up lol

Activity log and folders are the only things here that the Switch 'needs', IMO.

That CRT filter is too much (I assume that's why the shots here look like that). I'll need to look elsewhere for how it looks without that, I guess.

There's been games with far less availability than this one. And this one we knew it was limited. It's an anniversary release. Anniversaries end.

I still havent picked it up, not much interest right now, but I'm not worried about it. Not only are there all kinds of copies out there, I also fully expect these to be re-released under different non-anniversary branding later.

European is too plain.
The other 2....the Japanese one would have won it for me, but it has too much text going on. So NA by default.

I don't care how long he takes to do it, I'll be getting this whenever it does release.
This guy's a legend and did a fantastic job on the first game.

Just loose is fine with the exception being DS/3DS for some arbitrary reasons.
I've really stepped back from retro collecting tho. In this digital age, preservation has never been easier or more convenient (areas of gray included).

Miyamoto is admittedly a huge force behind Nintendos success, but he has far too narrow a vision focused on making everything accessible to everyone.

So...what's the catch with it being free to play? Is it pay to win (as implied by changing the bomb blast) or is everything pay cosmetic only?

The timing of this list is great. I recently dug out my N3DS and have been playing Bravely Default. Got me to thinking I should pick up some of the other RPGs on the great little system. I have a list to go through now to get some of these before they become hard to find.

Really doesn't affect me, personally, if they're all gonna hit Gamepass. I have a PC, so I'll still have access to anything they put out that I want.

I wonder what else Gamepass is coming to, given how vague he's being about 'other platforms' getting it.

Hey look, something else Nintendo is doing that people are overreacting about and NintendoLife is blowing out of proportion and providing misinformation.
Online games get shut down all the time. But hey, that's not even what's happening here (as this article states), they're just shutting down uploads while leaving the ability to play ones already up. But yes, even that will be gone someday. It's an online game, no one in their right mind should expect it to last forever.

Is this hard to find? My local Walmart has a big stockpile of them on the shelf still.
It's a lot of money for what it is, tho I am considering picking one up for the potential hacking of adding more games to it (which I am pretty sure has been done already).

Here's why you really shouldn't worry about it - it's a flippin rumour at this point. Along with the countless other ones we're been reading for 3 years.

'Button only' is the reason I am getting this game. I never even tried to play the Wii version after giving up on Twilight Princess. I hated those forced gimmicks.

Now all I need is a de-Wii'd Metroid Prime 3 as well.

These rumours are getting out of control and contradicting each other. It ranges from only a screen upgrade to almost entirely new hardware. If they are working on a new iteration, it also stands to reason that they are also deep into working on the successor as well and I feel like any rumours that have weight to them may be getting the two mixed together.

@ARhollow Sales say otherwise. There's been quite a few 3rd party games that outsold their PS/Xbox counterparts.

What I get from this is they don't listen to what people want for ports at any other time of year for them to be completely oblivious to what people are asking for.

Need 3 hands? I'm guessing he's also never actually played on an n64. Or doesn't realize Nintendo was pioneering the analog stick at the time. That's what happens when companies try something new.
