Re: Review: Mario Golf: Super Rush - A Solid Swing, But Par For The Course

Same! It looks really good, especially when we know we are getting even more courses as DLC. I don't even think the negative points listed here are that bad. Many games don't have much of a reason to play online and I think the courses look like a nice balance between wacky Mario and standard golf courses.

And I have just read your new comment (#9). Glad to see others looking forward to it!

I'm highly interested in this game.

I've had enough of people calling things "lazy" or "low-effort". It is pretty obvious effort was put into this game. It is never going to be as amazing as Breath of the Wild considering it is a golf game, but that doesn't mean it is low effort.

Why can people no longer just say something isn't for them? Why does everything we don't like now have to be "lazy" or "low-effort"? It is disrespectful to everyone who has worked on this.

I pre-ordered it earlier this week. It looks like it will be fun and I like the look of the courses and modes included, plus the fact more courses and characters will be added in the future. I liked World Tour on the 3DS so I'm sure I'll enjoy this. I also really liked Mario Tennis Aces on the Switch so I'm sure they will have done a good job on this as well.

Wow. Is "lazy" the insult of the year? Everyone is using this as an insult, no matter how much work may have gone into something.

It is pretty clear a lot of work has gone into this.

What you probably mean is "I wish this didn't have the same map as the first one". Just because it has the same map, doesn't mean it is lazy.

We don't even know how similar the map will be.

Imo, it is lazy to call something lazy just because you don't like something.

@Toads-Friend

Thanks! I have loved all of the Mario Party games and I do love how each of the newer games feels different. They have their own unique modes and features which I definitely feel was needed after essentially the same gameplay for 8 games plus the DS one. I do understand that they won't be for everyone, but I get confused why they try to push the idea that everyone dislikes them.

I am currently playing Mario Shuffle from Mario Party Star Rush and I really like it. It has some quite unique tactics that you don't get from other modes in other Mario Party games. I got Star Rush recently for £15 on Amazon and I'm so annoyed I didn't get it sooner (and I'm not sure why I didn't. I think I had something on when it was launched and then I just forgot about it sadly).

Star Rush has so many fun modes that play completely differently. My favourite is Toad Scramble but the rest of them are all really good as well!

But Super Mario Party had a lot more "big" modes. Regardless of personal opinion, that's factually true which is pretty amazing and not very lazy tbh.

I loved the fact that Super Mario Party had more modes. Mario and Partner Party played completely differently which definitely lengthened my interest in the game.

People are allowed to not like something, but that doesn't make something lazy or appalling. The recent Mario Party games have had more modes and more unique modes. How is it lazy to actually come up with new ideas? The first 8 Mario Party's and DS essentially had exactly the same gameplay. Why is that not called lazy?

Whether you like it or not, people have enjoyed the new Mario Party games. Yes, most people you've seen might have thought the newer games and less uninspiring content and less content but that doesn't mean everyone thinks that.

I like the motion control and I saw a lot of people praising Super Mario Party for its motion controls. Nintendo can't please everyone and won't make games just to please some vocal Mario Party "fans" that just want the same thing over and over. If you love the Hudson games so much, go and play them, and let us enjoy the newer games and stop acting as if no one likes them. People do and it is selfish to suggest otherwise.

@Clyde_Radcliffe

You do know that people actually liked the recent Mario Party games? I don't know why people are obsessed with making it seem like no one liked them.

People have asked for some of the older boards to be remade. This game is exactly what some people have asked for but rather than it being a way to expose younger fans to older boards and minigames, it is apparently an admission that they can't make a good MP game. This logic doesn't apply to any other franchise.

Nintendo remade a lot of Zelda games. Does that mean that is an admission that they can't make a good Zelda game anymore?

The "buttons only" thing will be an advantage to those who have a Switch Lite. It's hardly an apology, but rather suiting a different market. If you want motion control minigames, you can play Super Mario Party. If not, play this game.

I don't quite understand a game being similar to another game as a negative. It would always be "neutral" observation in my opinion. The complaints about the name also don't matter much. It's why I don't think the review on this site was very helpful. The negatives they gave don't really impact the game itself.

Re: Two Brand New Doctor Who Games Have Been Revealed For Switch

lightningbolt79

I didn't expect to come onto here and find so many people complaining at DW being "woke" when it has been "woke" since it started. DW has always tackled issues in the real world. The only difference is that the Doctor is now played by a woman.

And generally, when people complain at bad writing, all they really mean is that they simply don't like something, but for some reason, they have to blame something/someone rather than it just being a difference in tastes.
