I'm surprised by how many people have played Assault... I always considered it an obscure entry in the series. I guess it's because this is a site with major Nintendo fans.
Alot of people get it confused with Star Fox Adventures.
That reveal presentation was insanely entertaining.
And I love how anyone thought the GameCube with a handle was "portable", as if you didn't also have a power cable and a/v cables dangling everywhere... and controllers with their cords.
Considering all of the tracks added to MK8D, I'd be fine waiting longer for the next Mario Kart.
The one thing I don't want is additional customization with the Karts... I'm probably in the minority, but I hate trying figure out which "build" works best... I just want to pick my racer and go.
Someone in a different article pointed out the rather prominent gas tank on the karts and the gas station on the course... that seems like a very real potential new mechanic.
Can't wait to see the design of the official Nintendo Mouse Pro.
I also don't see the JoyCon mouse feature being all that useful... but it may be necessary if there are "mouse games" and there is a need to make it technically possible out of the box with just the JoyCon.
I was thinking about this game after its absence in the last Indie Direct. I assumed it was just in hiding, which is common these days. I wonder how far along the development was, and if someone could pick it up from salvage and finish it... probably not.
As much as I previously enjoyed the cinema experience, I am actually a fan of the modern home release schedule. Even before COVID I was not finding my cinema experiences to be great. Assigned seating was a huge step in the right direction, but it seemed like projection/picture quality was lacking and ticket costs were going up. Once accustomed, to 4K content at home, movies started looking rather bad, even at the good cinemas near me. Budget showings exist, but then I am sitting in an empty theatre and/or a gross environment, with even worse projection/picture quality.
I now have a new house with a dedicated home theatre room in the basement. Perhaps it's anti-social, but I much prefer to watch any movie in my home theatre. I hate to admit it, but I'm not sure there is anything that would get me into a cinema again.
Yes, I remember movie releases taking forever to come out on VHS. Sometimes even when they became available to rent, they were never really able to be purchased and only came from distributors at $100 - $300 per copy. This was during peak VHS rental. During the DVD area, it seemed pretty consistent for movies to be available for rent/purchase at about 6 months.
@SillyG The encoding for 4K stuff on services like iTunes and Movies Anywhere is pretty good these days. I have watched a few streaming releases on my 120" theatre screen and movies like Wicked look and sound very good (using Apple TV box). I am extremely picky with my audio/video as well. Do the 4K UHD disc releases look and sound better... yes... but it's marginal and most of the population would never notice the difference, especially on a 55 - 80" TV.
Also... $20 to watch a movie with your family is a fraction of the cost of going to the theatre.
@FantasiaWHT In the US at least, there are "lemon laws" for vehicles... not sure about other products. But in general, there is some level of consumer protection for certain things... the tricky part is deciding where the line is drawn.
I remember having no interest in Heist as a turn-based strategy game... but I loved Dig so much that I gave it a shot and loved it as well. It was perfect on the 3DS... I have been tempted to replay Heist on Switch since it is often on sale for $2, but now I will wait for Heist II.
I just hope it's not over-complicated with all of the new stuff.

Re: Best Super Mario Games Of All Time
SMB3, SMW, and SM64 are all great... put them in any order.
I personally love 3D World, but I have only played it co-op with loved ones, which is fantastic.
Re: Random: Takaya Imamura's Holding Out Hope For A Star Fox Movie
Might work better as a 10 episode, 30 minute cartoon series?
Re: Activision Teases Tony Hawk's Return In A New Update
Extreme Sports legends getting old is weird.
Re: Switch OLED Mario Wonder Bundle Revealed Ahead Of Mario Day (US)
Pretty good package honestly... If I were in the market for another/new Switch, and didn't have Wonder already, I would be pretty happy with it.
Considering it's a download game, it would be nice if there were a few options for game choice.
Re: Nintendo Will "Likely" Price The Switch 2 At $399, Says Analyst
Seems low considering how expensive everything has become...
However, may be feasible since Nintendo knows the economy is tightening and will make their money with software sales.

Re: Super Mario Party Jamboree Is The Fastest-Selling Entry In Franchise History
@fenlix
Mario Party Superstars and Jamboree are generally considered to be on par with the classics... obviously it's subjective by nature.
Re: Civilization VII Devs "Love" What Nintendo Is Doing With Switch 2 Joy-Con
@link3710
I get it... but I still question whether or not that is true. A good pointer cursor is more useful in my opinion.
Re: Civilization VII Devs "Love" What Nintendo Is Doing With Switch 2 Joy-Con
I must admit, I still question the usefulness of this for a device designed to be used on the couch or handheld.
I guess Nintendo and maybe other devs will probably come up with something interesting early on.
Re: Mysterious Patent Hints At "Predictive Input" For Nintendo Switch 2
Hasn't this already been done/tried with cloud gaming... maybe Stadia?
Re: BIT.TRIP Runner Dev Is Bringing Back An Atari Classic With A Twist
I do wonder if there is a TATE mode option? Seems like an obvious choice... Considering the orientation of the GOAL writing, I'd have to bet on Yes.
Re: Feature: 12 Things Switch 2's Mysterious Not-C-Button Might Do, Maybe
My guess was always Mouse-related.

Re: Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Movie Trailer Finally Reveals Keanu Reeves' Shadow
These movies have been the very rare example where I expect them to be terrible but they are quite good.
My biggest issue is Sonic's voice because I can ONLY hear Dewey Duck.
Re: Gallery: Here's A Closer Look At The Nintendo Museum - Exhibits, Interactive Experiences & Much More
There must be Pikmin hiding somewhere...
Re: New Sonic X Shadow Generations Trailer Showcases Shadow's Doom Powers
I don't know much about Shadow... but this is kinda giving me Bayonetta vibes.
Re: NES Remix Dev Is Reportedly Involved With Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition
You can see the similarities... I would have still liked a NES Remix port to Switch.
Re: Talking Point: What We Expect From The Upcoming June Nintendo Direct
I still want Disney Afternoon Collection on Switch... maybe with more games added.

Re: Review: Braid: Anniversary Edition (Switch) - Exquisite Commentary Elevates This Indie All-Timer
I can't believe this is finally arriving... No mentions in the Indie Directs.
I played most of this game on PC a long time ago... it is very clever, especially in the era of the original release.
I don't remember the story at all, and it's not essential for enjoying the game.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Want To Reuse Your Joy-Con On 'Switch 2'?
The real question is... will Switch 2 have analog triggers?
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Endless Ocean: Luminous
Is NintendoLife trying to justify their rare low score?
Re: Review: Endless Ocean: Luminous (Switch) - A Meditative Marine Milieu, But Incredibly Shallow
Well, crap... although I enjoyed the first game and the way this review reads, I think it might still be what I was expecting.
I will probably play it eventually.
Re: Best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Games, Ranked - Every TMNT Game On Switch And Nintendo Systems
The Cowabunga Collection probably shouldn't be in the list... but it is and it includes Turtles in Time, so how is it not #1?
I am still so happy that Shredder's Revenge exists and hope we get more of it...
Re: Digital Eclipse's Remake of 'Wizardry' Dungeon Crawls Onto Switch In May
It's time for a Wizards & Warriors remake!
Re: Nintendo Download: 25th April (North America)
I just realized that Braid Anniversary wasn't mentioned in the Indie Direct?
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Endless Ocean: Luminous?
@rjejr I actually wish they had ported the first 2 games for Switch to give them a second life and they would look much better.
Then develop Luminous for Switch 2 with glorious visuals.
Ultimately, I am glad this exists as I thought the series was "dead in the water".
Re: Four Years After Its Cancellation, Deliver Us The Moon Is Finally Landing On Switch
Sounds interesting... is it kinda like Subnautica on the moon?
Re: Review: Grounded (Switch) - Obsidian's Shrunk-Down Survival Adventure Struggles On Switch
Should have waited for new hardware...
Re: Video: Satisfye's New Switch Grip Should Satisfy Handheld Fans
There is an adapter that holds the Switch screen above a Pro Controller... I have one, but I don't really use it since I mostly play docked.
I think it is the Fixture S1 or S2 for OLED.
Edit: I just looked it up and it's $45... there's no way I paid that for mine, but it was years ago.
Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase April 2024 - Every Announcement, Game Reveal & Trailer
I could go the rest of my life playing only Indie Games and Mario games.
Re: SteamWorld Heist Is Getting A Surprise Sequel On Switch This Summer

Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase Announced For Tomorrow, April 17th 2024

Re: Review: Pepper Grinder (Switch) - A Cracking Platformer That Drills Down & Strikes Gold
Seems like a great game at a great price!
Re: Talking Point: Why Isn't Nintendo Revealing Its Partner Devs Before Launch?
Because the vast majority of their customers do not care or even understand... it's a "Nintendo game".

@DwaynesGames Me too!
DISNEY AFTERNOON COLLECTION
(add more games while you're at it)

Re: Thunderful Extends Its Distribution Agreement With Nintendo
@-wc- If you haven't tried the Steamworld Games (Dig, Dig 2, Heist)... try them. They are wonderful and often super discounted in the eShop.
Re: Random: It's A Race Against The Clock To Complete Mario Maker's Last Unbeaten Level
@TotalHenshin No... uploads haven't been possible for a long time.
