I just finished setting up my new gaming setup and my Wii U is sitting next to my Switch. One of the games I started playing was this one. It is fun, but definitely not a double-dip kind of game.
I'm going for Mulaka. I got to meet the developer a couple of months ago, and since here in Mexico we don't have a proper videogame industry I want them to succeed. I'm not expecting to be blown away, but I'm hoping for a pleasant experience.
@Anti-Matter the PS4 is great. I evaluate consoles on the quality of their games, and Sony delivers in spades. Great exclusives, great games, great fun.
I know you like less adult themed games, and I can assure you that you can find a great deal of them on PS4, lots of cool stuff. I also believe that something like the Uncharted series and The Last of Us are among the best videogames of all time.
I tell you, I love Nintendo, but I love games first and foremost.
I still own the original and it still works fine. That thing was a weapon, you could some serious damage with that, as both me and my brother can remember.
I never got anything from Club Nintendo because I lived in Venezuela and now I live in Mexico, both are countries where Nintendo didn't have the rewards program.
So, my Nintendo might suck, but I still prefer it. This is a classic case of first-world-problems in the third world.
I love this classic genre. Thimbleweed Park was just brilliant and fun. I hope they released the remastered versions of the old Luca's Arts library. I played Day of the Tentacle on PS4 and loved it.
This game is incredible. I really doubt they could port it to the Switch, and I don't know if owning a PS4 and my copy of MHW I would buy a lesser Switch game. Mostly because this franchise is VERY time consuming, I'd rather play something else on my handheld.
Missed the "nothing for me this week" option. This week is all about Monster Hunter World on the PS4. Sorry Nintendo, you're still my all-time favorite, but this week is all about raw power.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I understand your point, and I understand that you still carry some bitterness towards Nintendo since they turned the page on the Wii U so abruptly.
However, you write as if the Switch will never receive big AAA third party support, and you must see that you are mistaken. This is not the Wii U, this little console with its library full of ports is selling A LOT. Which means that more and more it will become an attractive platform for AAA developers.
So yeah, some developers started releasing ports, which is the fastest way to arrive at a new console, and maybe those ports haven't been selling as fast as you would expect, but that doesn't change the fact that the Nintendo Switch is offering huge market, a projected 17 million users just in its first year. They will try to tap that market, and only those who develop great games will triumph.
So yeah, right now there's not that big a list of AAA retail third party games, but those guys are working as fast as they can to develop for the Switch.
I am 100% for Nintendo re-releasing pretty much the entire Wii U library for the Switch. It was tough for them to transition tu HD games at the beginning of the U era, and the payoff wasn't great for most of those great games. So if they can find an audience now on the Switch, well, I say go for it.
I spent a lot of money on some of those games for the Wii U, and I get the resentment.
I'm here to show some love to Payday 2. Great fun game, specially with friends. I will probably end up triple dipping with Hyrule Warriors and double dipping with Tropical Freeze. I love those games.
I've never cared for Pokémon, I played the original Gameboy games and got bored, then I played X & Y, which were an improvement in my opinion, except for those points Arjun makes. Dull story, overpowered Mega Evolution and Z Moves.
I still feel compelled to share my opinion, because I would like to get into Pokémon. I'm a big JRPG fan since forever, and I want Nintendo to succeed. However, it is my understanding that the recent games have sold incredibly well, so I don't think they will learn anything from them. Many sites including this one gave those Sun and Moon games perfect 10s and put them on their best games of the year lists. And Nintendo is probably taking that in as a sign that they are doing everything right..
Thomas has had a lot to do with this site being, my go-to place on the internet. I appreciate what this place has done for my english writing skills too, since it is my second language. So, in a way @ThomasBW84 has been an english teacher as well.
Thank you so much, Thomas, and Nintendo Life staff and the community for being such a fun part of my life.
I wish Capcom would release Resident Evil: The Mercenaries on the Switch. That is my favorite 3 to 5 minute game on the 3DS, I'm still trying to get SS ranking with all characters on every mission.
I got my first Gameboy on a trip to the US with my family. My first game was Link's Awakening, I remember going inside a store and looking at the box art for this game, Mario with the bunny ears, and launching the biggest campaign to my parents to get it. I promised doing the dishes for months, taking out the trash and so many other things. Finally the parents caved and I got it
I loved the old dungeons, but they could scrap them forever if they so wish. It is crazy the amount of people complaining here and it's proof that there is no pleasing everyone. Nintendo should keep moving forward with the franchise, not backwards.
Botw is just perfect. Every 3D Zelda from Ocarina to Skyward Sword was way too predictable. It was great discovering this new world with its different rules and challenges. I'm currently on my second playthrough, which is something I haven't done with any game in at least 3 years or more.
Zelda is above everything else this year. It really is an amazing game. Whatever quarrel you may have against it, is on you, not the developers. They took possibly the most beloved and iconic franchise in videogame history, flipped it on its head and came out winners.
Nice list, but absolutely not MY list. It is interesting to see how personal taste works. My list is based largely on my gaming log on 3DS. My 5 most played games are: Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D (It was my first 3DS game and I still play it), Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars (my favorite strategy game, yes, over Fire Emblem), A Link Between Worlds (to me the OoT and MM remakes don't even touch it), Star Fox 64 3D and last but not least Pushmo. It is crazy the amount of time I have given to that little game.
I haven't even played AC: New Leaf and it is a game that I have never even considered buying, I just don't get it. Same with Pokémon, I tried playing X and Y and I tried playing Sun and Moon, but I just can't get into it.
I think with the Switch, Nintendo has chance for a couple of interesting things: first one is making medium franchises go big. Like Metroid, Starfox, Kid Icarus, etc.
The second one is creating new and exciting IP. I hope they go for more mature games.I would love to see a mature game with a Nintendo twist. I also think that their insistence with making Bayonetta an exclusive is a step in the right direction.
Super Mario Odyssey is great, and I've had tons of fun with it, but I'm in my mid thirties, I've played pretty much every Mario game that matters and I want my favorite videogame company to grow up with me.
I promised myself that I would put down BOTW for a year. I played like 200+ hours of this game. I didn't buy the DLC because I need to catch up on my backlog. I'm fighting through Horizon Zero Dawn now, which is a brilliant, jaw-dropping game, but it's no Zelda...
At first I was an unbeliever. I was bitter from the Wii U era. Now I adore my Switch. It will outsell the PS4, not because it is a better console, but because it is a different concept. That was the brilliant thing.
I still like my PS4 better. But that's unfair, I have plenty amazing games like all the Wolfensteins, The Last of Us remastered, Bloodborne, Uncharted trilogy and 4, The Witcher 3, Destiny 1 and 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian.
The Switch is way too new to compete with that. But I'm getting the feeling that Nintendo will turn me around eventually.
Every time someone complains about Mega Man's difficulty I know he/she is under 30.
Back in the day you had the time and the patience to learn the game beyond difficulty. A complex, repetitive pattern. One that could give you endless satisfaction.
If you want to get into Mega Man, then you need the mind set of old school gaming. And I'm not saying it was better, it just was what it was 20 years ago or more.
How very american of some of you guys to be so offended by sexual themes but not batting an eyelash at gun violence.
Even with all the sexual scandals going on in the US right now, I think mass shootings are still a bigger problem in your country.
With all due respect, I know this is not a political site, but you should really check your morals. But do it on your own not by reading angry articles on news outlets that are meant to shift your priorities for political gain.
I literally threw money down the drain with both Splatoon and Mario Maker. I know they are great, but I got them both at a time that I was kind of bored of my Wii U.
I should have kept them sealed at least, for collection value.
I didn't love No More Heroes as much as I thought I would. It's a fine game, though. But I still don't get this sort of spin-off game. Is it similar in gameplay?
I'm going physical on this one. Very excited and I want to support Bethesda I think they have shown their willingness towards us Nintendo gamers. I am getting all three of their announced games on day one.

PS4 is having a stellar year. If you don't own one, you should get one. Plus this year we get a new God of War and Spiderman.
I love my Switch, and 2017 was a Nintendo year, but Sony owns 2018.
Re: Nintendo Switch Gets A New Lick Of Paint As De Blob Splats Down In 2018
This is a brilliant game. This makes me hopeful for an HD remake of Skyward Sword. The HD rumble could take that game to a whole new level.
Re: Switch Surpasses Wii U Lifetime Sales in UK, But Its Dominance Isn't As Strong As Elsewhere
Just another way for the UK to tell Europe that they don't belong together. Videogames are getting political!

Switch drought. Was bound to happen. Hope it doesn't last.

Re: Kimishima Talks Nintendo’s 3DS Strategy Going Forward
I wish they would make a 3DS with a battery that lasts 10 hours at least. With the current technology it shouldn't be that hard.
I still use my 3DS a LOT. More so right now since we are going through a Switch drought.
Re: Reminder: Time To Purchase Wii Shop Points Is Running Out
I still need my Ogre Battle 64!!! Plus some other WiiWare titles I might facny.

Re: Review: Lost Sphear (Switch eShop)
I love me some classic JRPG, but this is a bit expensive. Plus my Switch is currently on pause while Monster Hunter World takes center stage.
I think the Switch is genuinely missing out on the best game of 2018, and it's January.
Re: Nintendo Download: 25th January (North America)

Re: Soapbox: Labo Could Help Nintendo Finally Crack The World Of Education
I don't see myself buying soon-to-be trash at those prices. Nintendo is way too weird for me sometimes. I'll stick to Zelda and Mario.

Re: Poll: Surprise! A New Zelda Is In Development, But What Do You Want From It?
Terrible poll. No option for Nintendo taking Zelda further away from the tradition formula, except for a joke about CDi Zelda.
I think it would be a big mistake on Nintendo's behalf to go back to the formula. They should explore other paths.
They could go further on the RPG aspects. Or they could take it in a bold new direction.
