Hi all,

Has anyone received an invite from MyNintendo to preorder Switch 2?

My account qualifies for preorder (criteria below) but no email.

I tried to ask the web chat but they can't help - just give generic responses that they cannot advise as it is dealt with by "The System".

I'm interested to know whether they are ranking people by playtime, and still sending out invites in batches, or whether the process has finished.

I'm a little annoyed as I've been a paying member for many years and so far don't seem to have made the cut. And the help is non existent which makes it worse. What's your experiences?

Criteria:

  • paid member for 2 consecutive years
  • played over 50 hours of games
  • have marketing emails turned on

Silly question, do you have sharing usage checked on your Switch? I know you mentioned marketing emails turned on, but this would be a separate setting so figured it was worth checking.

I've got an invite. I got an email the day after the Direct telling me I qualified and the actual pre-order invite email today.

Be patient it'll come eventually. Did you get an email from them telling you that you were selected?

Are you part of a family group for your NSO membership? If so, I think only the head member of the group is eligible. My membership is part of a family group and I haven't had an email despite meeting all the other criteria.

Thanks all, appreciate the comments! Glad to hear you are receiving your emails.

I haven't had any correspondence from them at all (no initial notification either), it's not a family account, and have all the sharing/usage options toggled. Guess I'll just cross my fingers that, while I'm probably further down the priority list than most (I guess they still sort by play hours) there's still some preorder spots left for me!

A few people on Reddit were complaining about the same thing. Sorry, it's hard to gauge how exactly members were selected and it really doesn't seem to be as cut and dry as the criteria they laid out.

If you really want one, seek one from another retailer. A lot of people are still managing to get them in store in Currys, Argos had them all day today (might be sold out now) and it's rumoured Amazon will have more stock soon. GAME had stock yesterday. Nintendo Store might open them up to other members and wider public later. Good luck!

UK guy here... Likewise, I ticked all the criteria and haven't heard a peep from Nintendo!

I have 2 on pre-order though, one from very.co.uk (I got lucky browsing) and another on Amazon.co.uk (I registered interest and then they mailed me with a chance to buy)

So I have one for me and the other for my brother

Same for me, no invite. I am the head of the family group with active sub for 6 years continuously. Hundreds of hours total playtime, definitely more than 100 last year. All Comms enabled (I received both promo emails and yearly activity usage recap, etc)

I managed to get a preorder in from Argos though, they even sent me an SMS to confirm I will get it on release date. I would prefer the certainty of the Nintendo store preorder, but I guess Argos will have to do.

I got an invite but only yesterday (08 April) but I can never order from Nintendo Store UK as they dont seem to understand when sending things to Guernsey you need to put a customs sticker on it. However how many times I tell them to do it, even put it in the notes for most of my orders and they never do and it gets chucked back to their warehouse. Which doesnt help when things are My Nintendo Store Exclusives, which i am sure the Gamecube controller will be. So will have to hope for an honest trader on eBay ( I got my N64 controller for only £5 more than the store price)
So I never trust the Official Nintendo UK Store

I got my pre-order with a local retailer (but wife says I can't buy anymore physicals until the new console comes out, HOPEFULLY there are no good physicals released in the next two months :s)

I received my invite from Nintendo today - you click the link in the email and it opens a web page where you enter the email of your Nintendo account. Then you get a 6 digit code to enter to then go on and purchase.
Thing is, the email never arrives. I have had one arrive and by the time it hit my inbox, the session had timed out.
Looks like a very frustrating evening trying to pro-order.
My second attempt was 67 minutes ago, still no email

@3dg3d3m0n it does take a while. My verification code took 3 hours and when I got in I couldn’t add accessories to my basket. Called them and live chat with no luck.
Solved by logging out and clearing my cache and starting again.

That's super frustrating! Certainly seems like they could have handled the process better overall. Hope you get it sorted!

I have also now had my email come through, and didn't have issues with my pin (got lucky I guess).

So fingers crossed for anyone still waiting for their email!

The first code expired for me. It says on the email

The code is valid for 1 entry within 10 minutes of requesting the code.
If the code expires, you can request a new code, by clicking the link in your event invitation.

I have yet to receive anything - Oh well just keep trying..

@3dg3d3m0n they said 10 minutes but I was in for half an hour. Log out and log in fresh clearing the cache or try another device to sign in.

Thank god I was working from home today!
The original email came through at 1:37pm, I have only just managed to get in and place my order.
A horrible experience, but at least I got there.
In my rush to get my order in, I forgot to check the Mario Bundle to see if it is a digital download or a physical release? I guess digital for the price, but does anyone here know?

I also picked up Streetfighter elsewhere and Cyberpunk is top of my list when pre-order starts for that

@3dg3d3m0n it’s digital but at least it’s a extra 35 pounds for it. Also if you don’t want it I’m sure you can get rid of it for at least more than 35 pounds.
I’ll buy a physical copy too but for cheap, hopefully pre owned cheap for the collection
