Hard pass- absolutely no desire to play as zelda. Before you have a fit...if Samus roamed the galaxy constantly saving some prince, i'd pass on a game starring that prince too.

@rosncranz glad to read that actually. I played 2 and enjoyed it, just bought the first one physical for Xbox and it’s been sitting on my shelf

Zelda is my favorite series, I’ve beaten 15 of the mainline games (pretty sure that’s what I counted). Something about tears just did not click with me, I didn’t finish. It just felt like kind of a chore. From my time with it I mostly remember climbing cliff after cliff in the depths and working to put vehicles together. Didn’t give me that sense of wonder and adventure elden ring did. I think the physics system they developed is absolutely incredible and a masterclass in game design, though

@Munchlax Maybe there's just too much? I'm in the same boat with Zelda....what i remember mostly in that game is endlessly climbing cliffs in the depths. Couldn't get into BG3 (but will try again). I did like starfield but the criticisms against it are certainly valid. Nothing has grabbed me like elden ring did last year

I'm waiting to play this as my switch game when i got to Paris and Rome next month (i'm in the states) but really looking forward to it. I want dave the diver too. Playing some luigi's mansion 3 on switch now for the holiday

@sanderev only Xbox offers backwards compatibility from their first generation. If you bought a game for original Xbox you can STILL pop that into the newest console. Only Xbox has smart delivery, if you buy a game it works in your current console and you get the best possible version. They’ve been open to activision blizzard union. To act like they’re the harbinger of gaming’s downfall is ridiculous

i strongly disagree. with the huge install base of the switch you want that to carry over, you want people to feel like they're in your "ecosystem" i really don't think most people are going to want to start from scratch

i got one a few months ago, planned to play a 64 zelda with it but it's still in box. it's a beaut though

My game of the year tbh. i'm excited to play it like i was when i was making my way through elden ring. Normally i'm a big Zelda fan (i've beaten 15 of them) but haven't finished TOTK yet. I got a little OCD unlocking the light roots and burned out

couldn't they have just made a straight platformer or...something? it's just so blatantly a ripoff as is

i'm just hoping for backwards compat and a continuation of Switch line for now. We don't need to go from the wii to the wii u era all over again
Edit: I realize u was a continuation and was backwards compat so kind of an awkward example but the U was just a swing in the dark and totally missed the ball

Man booting up Mario 64 to It's-a-me is one of the absolute all time audio and visual classics of the medium, he did a fantastic job.

at this point is a 2d mario game really going to entice someone to buy a switch who hasn't already?

I'm playing this on xbox so can't speak to switch performance but the game itself is way above a 6 imho for anyone on fence

ff16 is really good. it's the best in the series since 9 imo

beautiful console. Sadly i had to ship mine off to nintendo already as i think the dock fried my console, wouldnt connect to tv or wall charger. then i docked my old OLED into it and now that wont charge and isn't under warranty anymore.
Edit: oops not about the console, and i almost always read the article i swear! still i'm salty about the new switch.
