Re: Review: Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection (Switch) - A Comprehensive Round-Up With A Few Real Winners

Seems like a cool collection, the Harpies Feather Duster QCR looks nice as well ( even though the Ultimate rare is also super cheap).

I think some of the later GBA games will hit that goat/pre goat format era nostalgia for a lot of older players which will be cool.

I recently got back into the TCG in 2022, a lot had changed and the game is definitely complicated. But what I think the reviewer meant by ‘ the card game hit its full stride shortly after many of these titles were released (and then overcomplicated itself into oblivion a few years later on, but we don’t have to get into that’ Is Tearlament best deck ? What’s wrong with resolving 17 chain links backwards with half of each players decks milled on turn zero haha.

If anyone is nostalgic for older Yugioh and wants to play paper again, I would encourage them to check out either Goat or Edison format 2005 or 2010 banlist rules, they now run tournaments at YCS’s and it’s a great way to get back into the game

Hopefully Masterduel can implement these formats permanently as well.

Re: Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection Brings Original Trio Of DS Titles To Switch In June

This is disappointing that there is A) No physical release in the west and B) does not include the untold versions of 1+2, which means I will only be picking up 3 when it is on sale. It's still great that they are bringing this series to the Switch and it makes me hopeful that games like SMTIV. SMTIVA, SMT Strange Journey, SMT Devil Survivor 1+2 and Radiant Historia might make it to the Switch someday.

If anyone else listens to 8-4 Play then you know as well as I do that it was that 8-4 bump that took the game past the 2 million mark, there are literally dozens of us, dozens !

Great game with some good writing as well, it was really interesting listening to the podcasts about the localisation process. I’ve kind of fallen off FE after Awakening three houses never really clicked with me, but I’ll probably give it another shot whenever I have a spare 60 hours.

Re: Poll: The End Is Coming, But How Much Will You Miss The Wii U And 3DS eShop?

I’ve been on a massive 3ds buying spree lately as I feared that this was coming. I’m back to playing the 3ds almost daily now and the eshop closing is really really going to sting. I’ve been picking up first party and atlus games physically as well as the later Layton games. The eshop closing is going to have a massive impact on already insanely high priced physical games SMTIV 2 goes for close to £200 already.

I hope there is a last sale so I can pick up stuff like SMT devil summoner 1 as that game is really expensive.

Re: Nintendo's Huge Switch Sale Begins, More Than 1,000 Games Discounted

I picked up Resident Evil Revelations on a whim as I generally am too much of a scardy cat to play resident evil. I’m really enjoying it so far and for a 3ds game it looks amazing in the Switch OLED. The NLife 10% discount was a nice bonus on top of the sale, but I think I’ll save my eshop credit for a sale that has more JRPGs or something like Chrono Cross remaster.

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The February 2022 Nintendo Direct - Every Game Reveal And Trailer

I thought this was one of the best directs in ages, but I can see why some people who aren’t into JRPGs might not have loved it.

There seems to be a lot of complaints about ports, but I think it’s amazing to see valve games on a Nintendo platform for example. Square is really bringing the heat to the switch as well a remake of front mission, 2d 3D of Alive Alive and dragon quest 3, project triangle Strategy ( ff tactics with a stupid name), Chroni cross remaster that looks like they put effort into it. Maybe we might see games like bahmut lagoon as well coming to the Switch.

The switch is reviving Nintendo IP that has laid dormant for decades like advanced wars and 2d Metroid, I think the outlook is bright.

Of course you will get the usual brigade of people who will complain about the lack of a new 3D Mario, Metroid or Zelda, but for a February direct having 4 new pretty big first party Ip announcement is amazing, this was light years ahead of some of Nintendo wii era e3 presentations haha.

Re: Wow, Nintendo Switch Was First Revealed Five Years Ago Today

I was really excited for the Switch and Breath of the Wild I think Nintendo really needed to change their formula after the WiiU. I got both on launch, I actually had to buy breath of the Wild twice as Amazon messed up my order and delivered a system and no games. I think the Switch is right up there with the SNES and Gamecube as one of Nintendo's best systems.

Re: The E3 2021 Awards Winners Are In, But Nintendo Lost Out

@Blizzia I want at least 6 of those games which I think makes it a pretty epic E3 (7 if you include Dangan rompa collection )

Monster Hunter Stories 2: 9th of July
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD(Remake): 16th of July
Metroid 5 Dread: 8th of October
Shin Megami Tensei V: 12th of November
Pokémon BD & SP: 19th of November
Advance Wars 1+2: 3rd of December

Add the Danganrompa collection to that also, I think this is one of Nintendo's best ever line ups for a holiday season. It has action games Metroidvanias, RPGS, Strategy Games and Digital Novels.

Some of these games are deep cuts as well such as advanced wars and Metroid Dread which Nintendo fans have be clambering for almost 16 years!

I think this was my favorite Nintendo Direct ever

Re: Talking Point: How Good Are You At Games?

I think I'm okay at games I've gotten about 6-7 wins at tetris 99 and usually finish within the top 10 and got to A+ in the original Splatoon. I enjoy games like Souls and Hollow Knight and I did a dual long swords run of Dark Souls 2. I think the main thing though is having fun, gaming is a fun past time that we're meant to enjoy

@Deltath I'm not sure what country you're living in but handling stolen goods is a pretty serious offense here in the UK (carries a sentence of up to 14 years), I would have called the police right there and then and reported the shop for handling stolen goods. Any money that they make from selling the goods in question would also be considered the proceeds of crime, but that's a different story. I glad your friend was able recover some of their possessions though.
