@HotGoomba No. No there is not.
Perhaps from a purely casual point of view, yes the package is overall very nice; but when the netcode is nigh unfunctional due to a poor implementation of rollback on all platforms it's on, and there's noticeable input delay in the games that you wouldn't feel at all in the menus prior, AND the selection of online games that can be played doesn't include Alpha 2, the second most widely played classic SF game next to 3rd Strike... I only keep it for the gallery and nothing more.
At least USF2 feels good to play in comparison. Like, I mean in general.
@Anti-Matter "Nintendo stuffs are not allowed in Sony machines and vice versa." You say this, but PSO2 has a Zelda collab and a Toro-kun collab. You can wear Link's Champion's Tunic, hairstyle, Master Sword, Hylian Shield on PS4. You can also wear the Toro and Kuro outfits on the Switch's Cloud version.
This whole "Nintendo and Sony can never mesh" thing is bull. The only reason why this thing came to a halt is the same reason any high profile (emphasis on high profile) Mario fangame gets put to a halt. Using a Nintendo IP to push sales or possible lucrative gain of another, unaffiliated product is a no-no. Companies like Capcom and Sega let it slide because they have nothing to lose as a third party unless it was something that was already in the cards for them. (see RE2)
I don't understand how Asphalt 9 - the mobile racer with ACTUAL predatory microtransactions, a greedy energy system and a history of literal pay-to-win escapades - gets a pass, yet Mario Kart Tour - the mobile racer that literally hands you every piece of content on a silver platter, has no energy system, and of which the rarity component of gacha-earned items have a very minimal effect on performance - is the most vile, trite piece of garbage.
I've been playing since launch without spending a single dime, got Mario, Metal Mario, Dry Bowser, Peach, Toadette, and now Wario, and yet Shy Guy in a Shroomer with the default glider brings just about the same experience and even bigger multipliers on my favorite tracks. In fact, most of the tracks so far have bonuses equally distributed between all rarities overall, so the "premium" aspect doesn't even hold much of an argument. If anything, the unlock progression, which feels a lot like a battle pass (akin to what was implemented in CTR:NF), makes sure you always get something nice. They handed you Daisy in the last tour for simply doing average, so I cannot complain.
The only bad things I can say about it are that it's got no multi (yet) and it feels just as terrible to get Mario Karted (ie. robbed) here as it does in literally every other game past Double Dash. Also, drift-only controls? Instead of just having a UI overlay for jumping? Having the choice between steering-only and drift-only feels wrong, so I hope they change that eventually.
As someone who's actually whaled in mobile games and had to seek counseling, this game is nothing but generous. lol
@Spectra No one heard of Marth until Melee. No one cared about Lucas until Brawl.
DQ might not be reputable a franchise overseas save for a couple titles (but mostly VIII) and Erdrick might not be the rep we know, but they're the rep the series has and needs.
What the DQ fanbase lacks in size, it more than makes up for in recognition. Not that I believe this, but if this is real, you best believe another big series announcement would be alongside it. Smash is a celebration of gaming history, after all. I'd gladly welcome this if it's true~
Never mind the fact that the game plagiarized stages from Samurai Shodown III and IV (the one with the big trees and the lamps) and a stage from The Last Blade (Amane's stage on the red bridge), the composer they have took a track from some obscure Famicom game in hopes that no one would find out.
This isn't just one guy spoiling the party for everybody, -the whole team- must've been aware for a loooong time that they were just making a mishmash of relatively obscure stuff and dumped them in an unfortunately fun game.

"The least improved Sega Ages game so far"
