When does the Super Mario Bros. Movie release on streaming services?
Currently, we don't have a date for when the Super Mario Bros. Movie will launch on streaming services. However, we do know that Universal Pictures struck a deal with US streaming service Peacock back in 2021.
According to Reuters, this deal means that all Universal Pictures movies — including Illumination animated features — will head to Peacock first before any other service. When that is, we won't know until closer to the time.

They revealed this when the teaser came out lol, why are you only reporting on this now?
That... is very strange. I wonder why it's coming out so much earlier in some areas?
For this does 'UK' include the Republic of Ireland?
My favorite country: Austra
Gonna make it hard for the rest of us to avoid spoilers.
April 5th in the Netherlands, according to the description of the Dutch trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhLSD-Jn1Ws
Glad that I also live in Europe.😊
Do I need to go edit my comments saying how much I'm looking forward to April now or....?
A wonderful surprise for sure though. I'll make sure not to spoil anything here when I go see it though, promise XD
@StarPoint: I would guess local spring holidays, if nothing else.
what the heck Poland? why that late!
Little bit of an error in the article, Mexico is in North America, not South America.
First off, old news. Second off, I hate this so much. Just release it at the same time everywhere. Now I'm going to have to avoid spoilers for weeks.
@WeLiveInASociety yup. Seems like they equated Latin America to South America. It's rather common mistake, for some reason.
Hehe, go Belgium I guess. It's good I get it a day before my birthday, couldn't be more perfect, but for those wanting to avoid spoilers I feel pretty bad because it's gonna be a nightmare to try and keep that up
@dexterous Nintendo </3 Poland
Going to Belgium to see a Brooklyn guy of Italian descent who was created by a Japanese man and animated by a French studio. Yup, that's the place to be on March 22nd, 2023.
Amazing. My son is 7 on April 1st and thought he would have to wait a week to take some friends to see this. Can't wait to tell him he can actually go on his birthday.
Man hyped!
The second trailer made me happy lol
Happens frequently, even global mega releases such as Avengers End Game had a slightly staggered release.
Can often be down to small things like local holidays.
I was going to complain about living in the US and getting the movie later than many other countries, but then I noticed Poland's release date lol.
Nintendo hates Poland. Even when games do include Polish language, their eShop won't even list it as an available language. Even for Polish games like The Witcher or Kao the Kangaroo. What did we do to you, Ninny?
Can't believe we will get it so early in Switzerland, that's so cool
That's a very odd release schedule.
More reason to love streaming in general over cinemas though when things release and anyone anywhere can watch at the same time it's available. So much better than this scatterbrained idea that is going to leave a lot of people pissed off due to unavoidable spoilers.
TO BELGIUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Well that's a big trip actually)
nice i can watch the Mario movie before everyone else(i live in Brazil).
@StarPoint it's fairly standard practice in film.
I’ll need a good excuse to fly out to the nearest city so that I can watch this on the big screen.
Honestly I’m shocked it isn’t releasing on March 10th
@Nikhogan content clicks on a slow day. The IGN way.
@Wesleye98 Dat wordt misschien een tripje naar België haha. (That's gonna be a short trip to Belgium maybe haha.)
@Axecon You're traveling from US to BE for the movie?
Spoilers for a Mario plot... I think we'll live
Avast ye scurvy bilge rats, yar har har!
Mexico is in North America, come on NL!
@Nikhogan Because someone else did the work for them and they copied it.
Which means it will be heavily pirated in the US. Weird strategy.
Belgium gets something good for once. Will be there ^^ !
What did Poland do to Nintendo?
For those worried about spoilers because of the early release: The movie is going to leak before then and clout chasers will be tripping over one another to spoil it. Fun times.
The Netherlands: 5th April
That's annoying why can't they just release it at same time now we just have to avoid spoliers.
@Not_Soos Very
@Gamergirl94 yea its really dumb...
Mexico is part of North America, but Nintendo treats it as if it were in South America: Club Nintendo (the loyalty program, not the magazine) never existed here and My Nintendo hasn't had its physical rewards available in Mexico and the rest of Latin America.
As for the spoilers, so far the only things that I think can qualify as spoilers are
-Is Peach getting kidnapped? Yeah, I know it sounds weird to have that be a spoiler or plot twist, but from the second trailer, she seems to have a more active role, a la 3D World or SMB2.
-The reason for that fight between Mario and Donkey Kong.
-The reason for that Mario Kart race or the prize (if any exists).
-How Mario defeats Bowser. My guess is it will be similar to SM64
Is that supposed to be Peach on the image? Who designed this? A fifth grader?
Where the heck is Germany? Makes no sense to me, since Austrians will be watching the German voice dub.
It’s like sonic 2 all over again!
@Duffman92 Universal Pictures says: Germany 23rd March
So, will Indonesia get 7 April 2022 ?
@vanYth
Thanks! Wonder why NL didn‘t include it in the list.
I hate being Polish
@KevinvdT It was a joke, lol, but I wish I could! I'll probably wait to see the movie on streaming though unless a bunch of my friends convince me to watch it in theaters.
Finally I can get revenge on all the youtubers who puts bosses in their thumbnails!
Waffle Nation will ruin the movie for all of us (unless its bad, which doesn't seem to be the case AT THE MOMENT)
Great now I won’t be able to watch it with my daughter as planned …. We’re in Japan ….
Last I read, here in America we only have to wait one month after the theatrical release for the at-home one. Feels... way too fast. Is it like that everywhere?
Austria getting it first for some reason almost makes me want to see the movie now lol
Avoiding spoilers is gonna be so fun!
Don't have a good cinema where I am so will wait until it's streamed
Germany is also locked in for April 6th
Awesome. I'm in Mexico and by April I should be on my holy week vacation.
So my country Indonesia 🇮🇩 will get the date 7 April 2023 ?
Hahaha I am happy is coming to Turkey in 14th April. Not everything is coming here in Turkey hm maybe later in TV.
Finally, something more fair. I don't know why they didn't bother fixing this when announcing the movie.
Would like to stream it at some service but i guess only cinema and dvd
@MrHaggi Oke only DVD and cinema.
In December the release date for the movie in AUSTRIA changed to April 6th!
I hope they don’t ruin Peach by making her an annoying girl-boss for “modern audiences”.
So Portugal and spain are not part of the EU anymore
I do not understand, how in the modern age they can delay release of a movie by so long between countries. Spoilers will be everywhere before this gets to poland...
And I'm more than sure Nintendo Life will be a prime source of spoilers, if I learned anything from browsing this site over the years.
It's listed as 31st of March for South Africa. Noticed Africa doesn't even get referenced there
I will mark April 7th on my Calendar now 👍
Norway FTW. Still waiting to book my seats for the premiere. Gonna get the best ones I can.
Belgium got even luckier, though, but it's only 2 days earlier than us so I guess it's fine. I do still want to check out the French dub at some point, if the movie is good enough for a rewatch.
@PewnyPL My sincerest condolences, friend. It seems Poland in particular got completely screwed for some reason, as that release discrepancy is absurd. Is it a dub- related delay, maybe? Or does Universal just hate your lovely country or something lol
@Vil I suspect it's likely because of dub. Either we got the script too late for translation, or they didn't even give it yet fearing any leaks.
It's weird too, as Marvel/Disney doesn't have such issues, MCU movies came out here dubbed sometimes even before USA (I remember most of Europe got Infinity War or Endgame before USA for some reason)
Shouldn't this be released on March 10? It's Mario Day!
@PewnyPL It's so dumb ...All the major studios should have better communication between their foreign dubbing partners so releases can be way closer together across the board. These kinds of delays are the absolute worst for those affected in terms of spoilers, etc. I've experienced it before and it really sucks, man. Be cautious of the incoming spoiler avalanche at the end of March, especially on this site.
@beartown One word: Piracy. And Pegasus.
@Preposterous I think the real reasons are economical. Nintendo is like Apple, only cares about their biggest targets. Poland is not the only country ignored by Nintendo (or Apple).
It still surprises me that they are so far apart with their release dates in different countries. I would understand a few days (as some days are better to release films in one country and not another) but nearly 1 month is kinda scary. Especially for people in the later release date to avoid spoilers.
People here complaining about their show dates being so late. My country (Philippines) isn't even listed.
Not bothered though. Theater prices here are preposterous anyway.
Pff i am so hyped about this movie.
There's one in the Philippines bcoz there was a mario poster there
@Ryu_Niiyama The only thing that comes to mind was Pegasus, and that's still not enough for that kinda treatment
@Preposterous I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure piracy is very low in Poland
@Vil To add to the convo, we also still don't even have the trailer for the movie (aside from the teaser one).
@ComfyAko I do think that piracy is quite big thing in Poland, especially comparing with other European countries. And it was an even bigger problem back when Ninny could try to get into our market for the first time - late 90s, after becoming independent of USSR. Sony decided they didn't care enough, so they dipped their toes a bit and thus made PlayStation a household name in Poland, while Ninny was avoiding to have presence in Poland altogether
@goSciu From legal standpoint piracy was almost nonexistent in Poland because of lack of piracy regulations and then the free use law. It's a very special case
No Russia obviously.
It should be in Kazakhstan - strange you did not mention it in your list.
According to recent local cinema chain listings, the movie will open in Egypt on 19 April, and in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates on 20 April.
There has been recent changes to the local distribution of Universal Pictures' theatrical releases in the Middle East, so apparently information on the movie's status in the region is a tad slow at the moment. Hopefully, things will pick up in a few weeks.
Gonna be a crazy amount of pirating in two days. Why they don't release the same day everywhere is beyond me. Guess it makes too much sense.
The film will also be a co-production with Japanese companies Toho (Godzilla, Your Name., Weathering With You, My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen), Dentsu (Fairy Tail, Attack on Titan), and Fuji TV (Dragon Ball, One Piece).
@HopeNForever It will also release April 19 in the Philippines.
