@HyruleWanderer@JaxonH I guess I'll probably jump online at midnight on the 24th to see which retailer I can't get it from. If not, I'll go into target, BB, Walmart and GS that morning to try in person
I’m a little miffed about rune factory as I have the CE preordered and there isn’t a switch 2 version. I will keep this preorder but it is making me cull other switch preorders that have switch 2 versions as I would be stuck buying the game twice.

So the shtick is that Nintendo are selling the Switch 2 consoles China assembled to countries other than the US. Not sure what percentage of consoles are produced between China and Vietnam. 4-to-1? Worse? Despite Nintendo's intentions to subvert scaplers and ebay flippers, seems to me that console demand is going to outweigh supply while the supply channel is bottlenecked.
One silver-lining of this whole trade war nonsense for the rest of the world but. Because the US is both limiting supply into the US and supressing domestic demand within the US? Those additional units don't just disappear. So while I assume it's going to probably be pretty rough getting your hands on Switch 2 in the US outside of the US the reverse will be true
Which probably explains why retailers here who have had pre-orders up since the Switch 2 Direct still allow you to freely pre-order. They have a limit of one per customer to stop scalping on the console itself but outside of that? It's looking like they might well have plenty of stock. Going through JBs website the only item they list as being limited supply is the official case.... that's it...

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
Pull a Sony and raise prices everywhere else to subsidise the sales in the US, because they are that important to them (lagging in EU regions due to high prices already, so may as well go higher and make some extra bucks) which to them is a high impact low return strategy.
Or do what Nintendo has done, low impact high return, which is keep the essentials (games and systems) at the same, probably now near a loss price, and up non essential accessories that already have big margins.
But only in the US, because they did this to themselves.

@Haruki_NLI Regardless of the vague statements Nintendo has made about their pricing, we don't know Nintendo hasn't done both of these two options. The original price for everyone (everyone but Japan with their special version) could have easily factored in a fudge factor to account for presumed tariffs. It would look pretty bad to actively increase prices on the main unit before the device is even on shelves so I assume that is a last resort but increasing prices before prices were even announced is effectively invisible and plausibly deniable since we don't know why they set prices as they did.
Is Nintendo perhaps worried about 3rd party support going the way of Wii U? Consoles that had slow uptake generally had worse 3rd party support after year 1. For example:
3rd party support on Wii U for its first year was rather solid but then massively dropped off
3rd parties tended to focus on 360 exclusivity deals in the PS3/360 era
3rd parties tended to focus on PS4 exclusivity deals in the PS4/XB1 era
After the Series X|S did poorly, 3rd parties started skipping Xbox more often
So the Mario Kart World bundle is acting to try and get people into the Switch 2 ecosystem very fast.
I really hope Switch 2 keeps track of the playtime of every game you play, not just the last 20. Maybe some other stats, too. The main reason I like Trophies on PlayStation is because it's a record of my gaming history, so it would be nice to have at least something on Switch 2.
Huh, it's using the same OS with upgrade just like Switch 1 so it will keep track/time of gameplay. Where are you reading this other stuff at?
Nice.
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is all on a 64GB cart just like Cyberpunk 2077, and also works on Switch 1, automatically launching the correct version depending on which system it's played on. Perhaps all NSW2 Edition games also play on Switch 1. If so, that's a great bonus benefit.
More misinformation Switch 2 don't work on Switch 1. The Devs are spreading misinformation and people are eating this up. No where does it say Switch 2 games work on Switch 1. You can buy the upgrade for Switch 1 game but you can't use Switch 2 in Switch 1. Also Nintendo clearly has said this much but people never read this.
"What is the Upgrade Pack?
The Upgrade Pack lets you upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the game. It enables console-specific enhancements and ensures your save data carries over between versions.
It’s included on the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition game card and available separately from the Nintendo eShop if you own the Nintendo Switch version.
If you own the Nintendo Switch version, you can obtain an upgrade pass separately from the Nintendo eShop."

I said PERHAPS. I never claimed it as fact. So no, that wasn't "misinformation". It was speculation
Practice your reading comprehension before you go around making unfounded accusations next time.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
I don't need "sources" or to perform academic research to share a speculative off the cuff comment.

Obviously I understand the accessory price increases are due to tariffs (and frankly we're fortunate the increases were negligible) but this skit is still hilarious 😂

It almost certainly means nothing. It's still present on every other region's website. And it's 100% confirmed the handhend screen has VRR. If the hardware is capable there's zero reason to stop it from working on the signal outputting to the TV. It would be like having HDR capabilities, doing it in portable mode but disabling it when docked. Thats makes no sense.
Which is why most people shrugged the news off as a nothingburger.
