@ShieldHero Aw man! That cookout sounds good! What was your favourite bit? I live in an Asian household, so I don't usually do a cookout and we like staying inside, but now I hope we can cause a cookout sounds delicious!

I really need that Sonic Heroes Remake and the new 3D Mario.

Nep-Nep-Freak

@CaleBoi25, all of those sound pretty good! Enjoy!

@ParrakerriRush, for my favorite bit, it was probably the food itself. I have heard that eating food outside tastes better, after all.

@MarioVillager92, I've noticed that you've played the Switch 2 edition of botw on your play activity. I've been looking for the answer to a question that I can't find online. Suppose you played the Switch 1 edition of botw for 150 hours. If you upgrade the game to the Switch 2 edition and play it, will it count as a seperate game on your play activity and start counting from zero hours, or will it continue at 150 hours and change the Switch 1 edition picture to the Switch 2 edition picture on your play activity? This really matters to me, since I've always been obsessed with keeping my play activity nice and orderly.

@ShieldHero it carries over! I have 'hundreds' of hours in TotKS2E, but most of that is from the base version.

@ParrakerriRush what flavor Asian are you? I am Filppino on my Mom's side. (My Dad is a bunch of European things; they met when he went to Japan for a work trip.)

@CaleBoi25 Uh, my ethnicity is really weird. I am Chinese because of my parents, but I was born in Australia and live in Canada currently.

@ShieldHero I do like what I've played of Kingdom Battle, just haven't played it as much for some reason... probably because I gotta be in the mood for turn-based strategy games and I was into stuff like Super Mario Odyssey by the time I got it. I do have Sparks of Hope as well, just want to finish KB first.

As for the Breath of the Wild play time, the vast majority of my play time was on the original Switch version. If you upgrade to the Switch 2 edition, it doesn't count as a separate game - it continues counting your play time from the Switch 1 version and changes the icon to the Switch 2 edition.

@MarioVillager92, thanks for the answer! That question was bugging me for quite some time. I was considering purchasing the upgrade packs for botw and totk if I got a Switch 2 in the future.

On the note of Switch 2 editions, will I still be able to play the normal base game on Switch? I am planning to buy the digital upgrade for my physical Kirby and the Forgotten land game. If I upgrade it on my Switch 2, will I still be able to play the base version on the Switch still with the same game card? Also, if I 100% the base game of Kirby on the Switch 2, will the save data transfer over to my Switch 1 game?

Sonic just put out this cutesy trailer thing but I'd instantly buy a new 2D game with this artstyle it's actually really cool. I love sketchy and visible hatchmarks

@MarioVillager92 Good, you got a Switch 2? Nice! I hope you have fun with it!

My art style changes a lot because I like a lot of art styles. I tend to swap between detailed and not detailed, but I want to have an art style somewhere in-between those two. I want to get better at drawing backgrounds but I don’t know how to incorporate them into my artwork well. After I get enough drawings done I’ll probably practice that.

Crayons are fun but they went unused so I donated them. I also had a lot of paints I donated too. Bought a bunch at a Target for an ambitious painting I had, but when I was coloring the fur and eyes on a character while drawing, I realized paint wasn’t for me, so I donated the tubes and bottles I had since I didn’t have any use for it. I even had oil paint at one point but I sucked at it, and I can’t tell you how much money went down the drain in the end. My issue is that oil paint is slow drying, and it damaged a handful of my brushes, so I never made a finished painting with them. Colored pencils are my favorite too, I also liked oil pastels but they are too messy, though I donated most of them. Water-based markers can kind of be used like watercolor actually, I used to sometimes mark it on watercolor paper and activated it with water and a paintbrush, but it can be messy since the marks from the marker were still on the page, though I found using water markers like watercolor was easier than actual watercolor.

Rhythm games, fighting games, and shooters (especially hero shooters) are my favorite genres alongside platformers. I also used to play PlayStation with Nintendo, but I lost interest in it because I was playing the Switch a lot and sunk more time into the games on there, especially Smash and Splatoon. I think the last time I used a PlayStation was 4-5 years ago, but at that point I was only really using it to play Overwatch. I’m not into serious big budget triple-A games, not saying they are bad, but I’m more into smaller and more sillier games (like double-A games) instead, and that includes Nintendo but also some mobile games too. Yeah, I also think people can like whatever media they like, I don’t get people picking on others for what they like, usually for trivial reasons like “it’s stupid” or “cringey.”

Good that most of your library is unaffected! I would have to assume most of the Switch 1 games with issues got fixed since I saw on here a few days or weeks ago that they updated the backwards compatibility list again. I checked, and it looks like a majority of partner games can be played with no issue, so that’s good.

Again I probably would have still played the game even if it was in its original state, but people think it would’ve been easily forgettable if they didn’t go the overly edgy and crass route. I read a lot about the game when I was really interested in it, and it didn’t do well in terms of sales because it was released too late into the N64’s lifespan, just a year before the console was officially discontinued! Before they changed it, the original version of Conker was supposed to release, I think they said in either 1998 or 1999? I don’t remember well if it had a release date, as that version didn’t get finished, but I’m sure it was supposed to release around those years but got delayed when they changed it. I assume if it had release in either one of those years, it could’ve likely sold enough copies, though they originally planned to make games related to it even though it flopped.

Nice you’re having fun in MKW! I definitely wanna try it out when I eventually get a Switch 2. Thanks, but I have a small feeling I may have already gotten an out of context spoiler from an art account I follow, but I luckily haven’t seen anything else about it…it’s going to be so hard waiting to get Bananza while avoiding all the talk surrounding it! Hearing NL gave it a great review makes me happy, but I was kind of already expecting it to do well.

@ShieldHero Yeah anytime, I'm happy to help. I actually have the NSO expansion pack so they let me play the Zelda Switch 2 editions at no additional cost. I started playing the master mode in BotW.

@Fiergala The visuals are neat. They remind me of the ones in Sonic Battle (still need to play that game, I have it and I got a GBA SP earlier this year).

Have you ever played The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog? That free Steam game made for April's Fools? I don't have Steam access, but I've heard it's really good and want to play it one day.

@Fiergala Ok, I am a huge Sonic fan and that looks awesome!!! The little talk when Sonic is one upping Shadow is super cool. I also agree with Sonic that the racer (player) is what gives you the edge. If you have played any Sonic games, which you probably have seeing your profile picture, what is your favourite one?

I just saw that the lego game boy was announced, and it looks great! A 1:1 scale replica for $60! Much better than most other legos, and something I’m considering getting.

@CaleBoi25 Thank you! In March, my friend came over for my Birthday and he brought his PS3 and copy of Portal 2 with him. We stayed up late playing the co-op campaign (after I was able to set it up, I had to adjust my TV display settings to even see the PS3 menu) and finished it the afternoon after. It was fun, and it's what got me to play Portal for the first time! I got the Portal Companion Collection later, played the first one, and I still need to play the single player for Portal 2.

I want to play MOSTH too! Console port when😩?
