The classic DOOM games on Nintendo Switch already offer plenty of entertainment, and now Bethesda has released another new add-on for both DOOM and DOOM II.
The latest one is called 'Arrival' and is an 11-level episode replacement pack created by 'Pavera' with music by 'AD_79' and assistance from various other talented individuals within the DOOM modding scene.
This mod is once again free and can be downloaded from either game's main menu. If you would like more details about what Arrival has to offer, you can read a full interview with the creator over on the official Bethesda website.

I've always loved how easily Bethesda allows mods to be implemented, their history with them and Doom is really cool too
I love how these old games are getting updated more often than some modern online multiplayer games.
Awesome, look forward to try it out
At this point idSoft, Panic Button, and Night Dive Studio are the only three devs that still treats their fanbase with respect. Even idSoft went to Bethesda to give them a piece of mind when Bethesda were ruining Doom 1 & 2 with those awful DRM hiccups on Steam, PS4, and Switch.
Just finished Doom 2 recently. I love these free updates to decades-old titles. 😃
The sad thing is if you have the physical edition it's useless since they keep adding stuff to the game and lrg already sent the games out. So the dlc won't be on the cartridge
@Specter_of-the_OLED the DRM is still there actually lol
They might of gotten rid of the b.net account requirement, but if you have your switch offline for several months the digital version of the games will lock you out until you go back online again, only works offline for so many weeks
@tonyp1987 the physical copy not having a load of wads on it makes it far from "useless".
@Doktor-Mandrake and the always online thing too
i would love them to add motion controls in Doom 3. They even did it for Doom 1 and 2.
I hope that they will release far more "total conversions".
There are dozens of these out there which are completely new FPS games, just running on the Doom engine.
Don't get me wrong: I was already surprised that they released/allowed REKKR on Doom I+II for switch but, as I said before, there are way more out there. really REALLY good ones.
One of the most VFM titles in Switch. Not expensive titles because are old and very high replay value with the free addons!
I don’t know why this game which was famous for lan play has everything BUT local wireless play
@NintendoPete Yeah I almost passed on Doom 3 because of the lack of gyro but it was under $3 so I picked it up a bit ago. Since it's a slower paced game compared to the new ones the lack of gyro aiming is bearable. Very few other fps games I'd pick up without gyro though.
@EVIL-C I just started it the other day after finishing the original, it's alot harder than the first one
@Would_you_kindly Yeah, I found the level design more complex than Doom 1, not to mention they're larger in scale, which adds to the challenge. The outdoor areas are a cool addition, and I found myself wandering and admiring the assets and contemplating how they put it all together.
@sixrings : That’s been a real sore point for me too. I would have bought four copies from LRG if they bothered to include local wireless multiplayer.
@tonyp1987 : I don’t care much for the WADs, but I just wish that the Final DOOM episodes, No Rest For The Living, and Sigil were added to the main portion of the game (kind of like Master Levels in DOOM II) instead of being treated as separate add-ons (and hence why those aren’t on the cart).
Fortunately, the classic DOOMs seem to be accessing Bethesda’s own servers for the purpose of downloading WADs, so it may be the case that these games may even outlive the Switch eShop.
Removed - trolling/baiting
@tonyp1987 you don't have to have an online connection. You can play these with Wi-Fi off in 'Airplane' mode. Same with Quake

@Stocksy ID Software encouraged modding because it fit their business model just right. Their IP, their choice.
Other developers discourage modding because they see it as counterproductive to their business model. Again, their IP, their choice.
@tonyp1987 it's even worse than that. Limited Run Games put DRM software on the physical releases, so you need an internet connection to start the games up.

I just want a DOOG update, that's all I wish from them.
(yubi yubi)
@Stocksy So I'm either agreeing with you or failing? Wow!
I though you might be interested in having a conversation about this subject, but it looks like you're looking for a fight. Not interested. Have a nice day.
@SteamEngenius
I am currently playing Bulletstorm - Duke edition which looks good and is quite fun, but it doesn't support motion controls which is a bummer. In contrast to Doom 3 this is a much faster game - so yeah I hear you. No gyro aiming was that big of problem in Doom 3 than in Bulletstorm but still I kinda hoped that Bethesda would be able to add it nonetheless.
@Austrian
But many use Stuff from GZdoom or even Eternity, you will only see Stuff that isn't to far from the original Engine.
To remove the Limits (Visplanes) is one thing, to add extra Features something different.
Also hard, to Contact the People behind and ask them, often they use Textures or Music from other People and it gets crazy to find everyone involved^^
But yes, there is so much Stuff out there, hopefully we'll see some more on the Switch.
@EVIL-C theres alot more enemies at once & finding the exit in some levels has taken me ages I'm playing it on PS4 & theres a trophy for completing it in under 2 hours & there's no way I could do that lol
Still waiting for the The Simpsons TC WAD to be added. Man, playing that back in the day was so cool but incredibly weird at the same time.
@Would_you_kindly Yeah good point about the extra enemies, especially in some of the outdoor areas. I'm not playing on too high of a difficulty, but I can imagine how brutally f-ing insane it would get on the highest settings. 😅 Hahaha 2 hours?! Not happening with me either! 🤣
BTW I jumped right into Doom 64 on Switch and it has been an absolute blast. I'm only on level 6 or 7 but wow do I ever regret not playing this back in the day on N64. It feels just like 1 and 2 with similar yet much higher detailed sprite work, with a bit of Quake sprinkled in for good measure. 😄
@EVIL-C I'm just playing it on standard hurt me plenty , I'm going to play through doom 64 after I've finished 2 then I'm going to play through 3 & then finally going to replay doom eternal
