Holy crap, I finally beaten Insane on Connected! Yeah it's definitely up to luck, I also think we just had a super skilled player.

And of course I was the only one that got a B while the others got an S and SS...whatever, don't care. lol

@Joeynator3000 Nice! I'll be playing more Connected later today hopefully; that and also the Ritual event (happens during weekends, I believe). The music in this game is so good!

Was up a bit late playing Purify last night (was half-tired lol), and somehow managed to achieve SS rank with 469 infected clears. Doubt I'll ever achieve the same for the other game modes, but I'm still having a blast with this game regardless

Playing: Picross S+ (Switch), Balatro (Steam)
Next: Logiart Grimoire (1.0 release, Steam; I backed this on Kickstarter!)

Has anyone played this on another platform with VR?

Review on here really talks up the immersive visuals so wondering if I'd be better off getting it for my Oculus. Any thoughts?

@ian_beale I've heard it's a pretty incredible experience in VR. If you're inclined that way at all, and you own an Oculus, it might be worth grabbing it on that platform.

Currently Playing: Fields of Mistria (PC); Cookie Clicker (PC); Metaphor: ReFantazio (PC); Overboard! (PC)

Ugh. Men.

Went with Oculus version. It's kinda cool but already raging at the analogue controls. Will probably double dip on switch when its on sale.

@ian_beale It's still on sale at the moment (in the UK at least), going for 25% off.

Oh man, trying to SS rank the expert levels is brutal.

Currently Playing: Fields of Mistria (PC); Cookie Clicker (PC); Metaphor: ReFantazio (PC); Overboard! (PC)

I do wonder though, is Type B still in here along with the original songs?

I understand you can unlock a secret "1989" themed level with Type B music once you reach rank 50! Well that's definitely the case in the Xbox and PS versions, so I assume is the same in the Switch one.

@Sdelintwouters How so? Offline has pretty much bare bones Tetris, Marathon mode etc, no opponents?

I disagree that Tetris Effect is like classic Tetris because it has that time freezing mechanic that changes things quite a lot.

BTW in terms of competitive play the closest to classic Tetris is probably Puyo Puyo VS Tetris 2's "Tetris League" online mode. It's just classic 1 vs 1 Tetris.

Tetris effect was patched today to fix some crashes and fix the 1984 (russian-style) mode unlock. I've not got to level 50 yet to permanently unlock 1989 gameboy-style) but it does unlock on Saturdays once the community reach their goal (for the remainder of the 24 hours). Also classic challenge mode looks like NES tetris and has a remixed nes tetris theme. It's a shame Tetris 99 has such annoying (main menu) music!

Ohh do you have a link on how to get the 1984 version on Switch?

@TryToBeHopeful So I just checked the link:

"Basically, 1984 is accessed by using the iconic Konami Code — Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A — in the title screen with "O" and "X" standing in for "B" and "A" on PlayStation 4. Additionally, a second screen requires players to enter the date of birth of Tetris, 06061984, which requires a USB keyboard or chat pad on consoles. Once unlocked, it remains unlocked."

The keyboard part seems to be referring to a 'second screen', I'm assuming for multiplayer? Maybe the Konami Code might work in which case? (article was published 4 months before Switch's release.)
