The August 2024 Splatfest Sneak Peek has begun.

Shiver: "Which could you eat every day?"
Big Man: "Ay! (Place your orders, everyone!)"
Shiver: "Competing this time, we have bread, with whatever you like to spread on it."
Frye: "Or you could go rice. Soft, chewy, and smooth, it goes great with any side!"
Big Man: "Ay! (For me, I like to slurp up a perfect plate of pasta!)"
Frye: "I already know where I'd land. If I can only have one, it's gotta be piping hot rice. Rice fills you up and keeps you goin' for hours. It's perfect for a prefight meal!"
Big Man: "Ay? Ay?! (You mean 'match,' not 'fight,' right? Right?!)"
Shiver: "If I'm in for the long haul, bread has the most variety. Toasted, buttered, and so on."
Frye: "Ooo, and that's not even counting all the kinds of jam."
Shiver: "And don't get me started on pastries, unless you have all day."
Big Man: "Ay. Ay. (Well, I think pasta is so delicious that I wouldn't need variety. Just sauce.)
Ay. (A heaping pile of pasta is as satisfying to look at as it is to eat.)"
Frye: "You got me there. Hmm. Ugh! OK, new plan. Main course of rice, side order of pasta, and sweetbread for dessert!"
Big Man: "Ay... (Frye, that's not what sweetbread means...)"
Frye: "But no. I gotta stick with rice! Fried rice, tempura donburi, bibimbap, etouffee..."
Shiver: "Bread is just as versatile, you know. Think of sandwiches, croissants, and pizza."
Big Man: "Ay?! Ay! (Are we pretending there's only one kind of pasta?! Gno way!)"

I ended up choosing rice.

By the way, Splatoon 3 is getting a Tetris 99 event in 2 weeks.

While I love butter+peanut butter on toast, I picked Rice for the splatfest team, because the bread team shirt & ink color look so awful to me. If you haven't tried butter+peanut butter on toast (bread or bagel form), it's super good!😁

I'm addicted to pasta... I get into a bad mood if I don't eat pasta once a week. Especially full grain pasta. Delicious! 🤤
So I have no choice but to choose pasta! ❤️

Just picked rice for the next splatfest.

My internet is down due to major srorms in the area, but I will be going Team Rice! Gotta stay true to my Asian heritage!

Totally called it. Nintendo said so themselves that Grand Festival will be the last splatfest in Splatoon 3. Here's what it says in the My Nintendo sweepstakes for that splatfest...

Splatfests in the Splatoon 3 game for the Nintendo Switch™ system reach a “grand” finale in the music-filled Grand Festival in-game event** ! So yep, they called it the grand finale... it all makes sense now. Especially with Nintendo having announced that they're working on their next console.

@MarioVillager92 Hmmm… Grand Finale doesn’t mean there won’t be reruns though. I do think this will be the last new Fest though.

@CaleBoi25 Yeah that's what I meant, Splatoon 2 had reruns of a couple splatfests after its final fest. Plus there was the one made for Mario's 35th anniversary. So it seems this game will also do a few reruns... and Mario's 40th will be next year. I'm not sure if there will be a splatfest for that though, Nintendo probably wants to promote their next console by that time.

I think the repeat Splatfests in Splatoon 2 were because of the pandemic. Even the Mario collab might've just been a bonus. After all, shouldn't the Final Fest in 2 have been the "final" Splatfest in that game? The Mario collab was technically the true Final Fest...

I'll be disappointed if there's truly no more Splatfests in 3 unless 4 is coming sooner than expected. This month's Splatfest being rolled out so quickly makes me think that ordinary Splatfests really shouldn't take that much work. I miss the days when Splatfests in 2 were almost monthly!

@Croctopus Good point, I forgot they did the rerun Fests due to lockdowns. That said, datamined files indicate a possible Splatoween and FrostyFest rerun at the very least.

@Croctopus Oh I forgot they did those due to the pandemic as well. I didn't play much of Splatoon 2 after Chaos vs. Order. While those rerun splatfests were going on, I was playing a ton of a certain other Nintendo game, lol... speaking of which, I'm pretty much all ready for a new Animal Crossing game. I've got my fill of New Horizons' base game, just gotta play more of the DLC sometime. If the devs are gonna work on the next Animal Crossing, which I personally hope they do after Splatoon 3's all done, hopefully they'll have some rerun splatfests in the timeframe before the Switch 2 comes out.
