Topic: Apex Legends

Did a forum-wide search, was surprised to not find an active thread for the game. Anywho, today's the launch day in Murica. I've never played a battle royale before, so I'm eager to give it a try. Panic Button does good work.

As someone who plays Apex on PC, I hope people have fun with this one. One of the few battle royale games I've enjoyed, and it even sparked interest with the Titanfall series as it takes place in the same universe.

I'm looking forward to trying this on Switch. Really always liked this one is team-based by default and when teams work together, they succeed in this game. Some of the LTMs are pretty fun, last LTM I played was Winter Express around Christmas. Basically king of the hill on a moving train.

What time is this available to download? I just got home with my physical (code in the box) copy at GameStop but it’s not working. I saw an estimated 6PM EST online but don’t know how accurate that is.

Does anyone know for sure. I’m in Chicago. CST. Thanks!

I just checked Nintendo's website to see if it's out yet, and they even had support article about the release. The article is saying in the evening, with no timezone specifics.

I'm also willing to give tips that I have from play, I'm manly a ps4 player so I'm better for that stuff but @Sunsy here has played on pc so you should ask them for stuff related to that.

Still not up(I’m in pacific time zone) hopefully up on eShop soon. Also I read on Twitter that a Nintendo Online Subscription may be needed for online even though the game is A Free Title..

No prob here. I have NSO, but thanks for pointing out. Man I was so bummed to get home 5hrs ago with my copy (physical box cover art w/code) to keep getting an error on the eShop. I was raging but then laughed reading online it simply wasn’t available yet. @mike3

OMG its going to take forever its says 3 to one hour so far.

As @Snatcher stated tips, here's some of mine for new players.

1. When you get knocked out, do not leave the game unless your whole squad is eliminated. The map has respawn beacons, and teammates who are alive can bring you back in-game for another chance. If they can't respawn you, but your team is close to winning the battle, stay as you'll get the win too.

2. Firing range mode allows you to try different legends and and get a feel for the weapons, and attachment combos. It's a great way to find which weapon works best for you, seeing the damage it does, or just going into and messing around with stuff or looking for easter eggs.

3. When dropping, try dropping away from a crowd. Going where everyone else is going is a great way to get eliminated right away. There's plenty of loot on the map, so you'll find weapons and ammo as you and your team play.

4. Work together, cant count how many times I lost a match because teammates didn't stay together, or work together. The biggest thing with Apex is teamwork.

5. Don't forget, use the ping system. If you don't like voice chatting, it's great for communicating with teammates and useful to point out loot, enemy presence, or figuring out where to go.

Those are just some tips I have being someone who played this on PC. Hope everyone has fun.

A file size of 19 GB? Oooooof! Probably wait till the weekend to download it then. Although I want to at least try the game to be able to form an opinion of the port, I'll probably only play an hour or two. Delete and then move on.

Competitive multiplayer games are not this old man's forte.

@Sunsy Great tips bc unless your a great apex player who knows how to work with there team to get kills, I wouldn't to to places with lots of people. we both know good and dam well that people are not going to do that first one.
