On RAW GFLOPS (which you shouldn't compare) it matches Steam Deck and PS4 in handheld mode but is closer to PS4 Pro/Series S docked. But it's a different and more efficient architecture with more RAM and hardware features like RT and DLSS. So expect it to punch well above it's weight

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
However, since it's the "main" game containing the main branch of competitive battling, even without another expansion I could see them trying to keep SV relevant somehow until Gen 10 takes the reins.
Oh that much is definitely going to be true, we're going to continue to get Tera Raids, Mass Outbreaks, and competitive events in SV from now until Gen 10, they did something similar with the Wild Area events in SwSh despite BDSP and LA releasing. But as far as the claim that they're going to use SV DLC to tide us over? Nah, SV is a poor choice for that in these circumstances. If they want a multiplayer game better to go with something like MK8D, Smash, or Mario Party to pair alongside Splatoon 3.
I have seen so many different takes based on these latest leaked specs for the Switch 2. Some say it’s pretty bad compared to the PS4 while others say it’s pretty good and others stating it’s pretty impressive. So I have no idea what I am believing.

@Ulysses Except there was nothing in the Teraleak to suggest that it was delayed to 2026. At least from what I've seen, and I've been following the leaks heavily. The only info we had on Gen 10 is that it will have island hopping as a central theme, similar to what Alola pulled off. Outside of that and its code-name, along with info suggesting they began development of Gen 10 on Switch 1 before moving to Switch 2, there hasn't been any release year or date info. The only thing is a rumor that it'll release in 2026 because "That's when the anniversary happens," which is people mostly hoping for a delay so that the game doesn't release like SV.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
Not a chance in hell it will have those ridiculous specs which vastly outclasses Steam Deck while just costs 359 euro according to the "leak" by some retailers.
+1.7 TFlops on handheldm and almost 3.1 TFlops on docked with ray-tracing? BWA-HA-HA, be prepared to pay +$800 for that if now it's "true" then.
This insanity is just NX 2.0 over all again now. Oh my... So many poor souls will be devastated when they realizes that they were falling for it again.
If that specs "leak" mentioned 22.7 TFlops on handheld and 56.8 TFlops on docked, 128x cores with 25.4GHz each one, 12 x 12GB RAM, 1.9 Petabyte in bandwidth and 12 Exabyte storage, aaaaand many had still believed in it.
Come again, everyone!
Just use a bit common sense now.
BUT!
If it's indeed true, sooo Nintendo had won the video gaming industry forever. It will kill every of its competitors in. a blink of eyes.
Nope, nope, nope! Never gonna happen, not with those specs! Why should Nintendo suddenly releasing a hybrid console which is vastly superior over Steam Deck while being almost half price!?
Max 2-3 times more powerful than Switch, not 7-9 times!
@skywake
Handheld CPU clock speeds being (slightly) higher than docked CPU clock speeds makes no sense.
Indeed, very curious. Perhaps it's so they can push the GPU just that little bit harder while docked? Or maybe whoever leaked this this got them muxed ip

Some people are looking at the clocks, some are looking at the compute, both are wrong. The correct way to look at is to consider the raw power and weight that against the feature set of Ampere. And in that context this looks pretty good I think
FWIW Steam Deck has about the same amount of GFLOPS as a PS4. I can tell you now, in actual use it's way ahead of the PS4. Deck also has hardware acceleration for RT so it can run stuff like the new Indiana Jones game. That's the problem with GFLOPS comparison, they only tell how many raw calculations it can do. They don't tell you what calculations are accelerated, which pipelines are more efficient, how wide the memory bus is etc
@Keman I don't think there's any way it's priced under $400 in 2025. In some world where Nintendo is willing to take a loss, or zero profit per console, then perhaps $360. But we don't live in that world. Not to mention the political uncertainty with potential tariffs and inflation. So I wouldn't believe a single rumor that claims any price under $400.
Also, the Switch 2 is for sure 6x as powerful, at least. And as Skywake mentions, it will punch above its weight with modern optimizations and upscaling.
The PS4 and Steam Deck never had access to closed hardware DLSS4. That in and of itself will be a game changer. Upscaling innovations is already transforming the industry, and Nintendo is poised to be at the forefront of this new upscaling revolution.
@Keman As far as I know I don't think we've gotten any reliable price leaks. Hardware is a lot easier to leak because it's in production so physically exists where a fair amount of people outside of Nintendo have various amounts of access.
Could it be that the leaks we are seeing are actually the Switch Pro which should've been released back 2 or 3 years ago?
Either way, hardware leaks, are pretty meaningless without the software running on it....
But looking increasingly unlikely Thursday will happen... If it's not announced by midday PST tomorrow, it's not happening (unless nintendo have gone insane)
If it isn't this week, I wonder how Nate will get out of this one. Maybe it'll be a situation where "Oh, it was supposed to come this week, but then it got delayed!!!!"
Most of these false leakers tend to use Delays as a way to skirt around inaccuracies. Especially for something that's inevitable to happen eventually.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
@NinChocolate That isn't at all what I'm saying. The Switch 2 is going to get revealed eventually. I'm just poking fun at the "leakers" who literally keep guessing when it'll get revealed and then going "OH! I'M RIGHT, I'M A REAL LEAKER!!!!"
Or who go "Well, it didn't happen because Nintendo delayed it last minute! It'll happen next month instead!!"
It's just wild to me that people still believe characters like SamusHunter or NatetheHate, when every single time they're just guessing things. They don't actually have inside information. Are we seriously going to forget how Nate did this in Summer of last year, only for nothing to happen? Or did this with the "Switch Pro" reveal in the summer before that? He keeps doing this, and he keeps getting it wrong- but somehow people still act like he's some key figure that keeps getting things right.
