I think the royalties they have to pay Disney for using the Marvel IP are already expensive enough as they are. No reason to include a bunch of famous actors on top of that. This ain't Death Stranding.
Even the cinematic trailer was rubbish, it looks like they are using the ugly stunt doubles of the Marvel films.
I think they're trying to escape having to pay royalties to famous actors. That would be a massive waste of money for something like this.
That explains why they aren't using Scarlett Johansson face but not why they have a man in drag with a bad red wig playing Black Widow.
Looking at the designs of the costume it's clear they are inspired by the MCU versions but doing a lousy copy rather than using the comic versions and updating them for a game. A better example would be the Arkham games which instead of roping the Nolan films used the comics as inspiration and brought them into the games to the point the games inspired the movie designs.
@jump When the game unveils its brilliant plot twist (Black Widow was actually Thanos in disguise all along), you'll be praising that particular design choice.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)

I've never really found Scarlett Johansson very attractive, so this new version looks better to me.
It's Thor who looks really dodgy to me. Chris Hemsworth has owned that character.
If you say so but you're very much in the minority of thinking she's ugly. Imo the face lacks the deceiving demureness associated with the character in place of a grump. You can't even say it's her war face as she looks like an office worker who has found her sandwich has been eaten in communal fridge.
A beer belly would be nice on Thor He's probably the most versatile in terms of portrayal tho, they can go over the top with the Viking influence, have the silly helmet, have him streamlined etc. I'd actually disagree with Hemsworth owning the character, he's seemed to have changed the character he was portraying half way through the films from headstrong noble to a quippy fool.
It seems a shame they are going so hard on trying to be a poor man's MCU when they can get away with more outlandish costumes in a game.
Eh, I think Costume changes are a given. It's clear they're gonna have in-game monetization, and cosmetic stuff seems to be the "safe" thing to go with.

Definitely don't think she's ugly. Just not particularly eyecatching and I don't think her version of the character is particularly interesting. (Obviously you don't need to be attractive to do a particular character well, those are 2 separate issues)
oh yeah, i’m hoping for a new kirby game. i’ve never played one before, and was gonna pick up star allies, but i heard it was too easy and handholding, and boring. i want a challenge!
I'm thinking the next Kirby game is full 3D. That's probably not ready to show for at least another year. If there's anything Kirby this year, it'll probably be a smaller entry, maybe a port of Kirby Triple Deluxe or Planet Robobot, a remake of Kirby 64, or a spinoff.
The avengers game should've just done the Ultimate Alliance thing and go with comic designs. Doesn't need to be the exact same but I'm damn sure there's more than enough more modern/grittier designs, if that's the direction they want to take, for the five characters shown in the trailer in some of the alternate series (Marvel does that, right? I know Spiderman has like, a dozen versions/universes but I'm not really into marvel comics at all so I won't act like I'm some kinda expert on that)
Yeah, those loads of alternative universe versions of characters. It's gotten to the point where even the alternative take characters are getting movies like the recent Into The Spider-Verse.
I'd love if it was more Lego Marvel like where it's just Easter egg characters and cameos everywhere. I'd love to play as the likes as Spider-Gwen, Goddess of Thunder Thor, Quentin Quire etc as much as Iron Man, Cap etc.
@Bolt_Strike Kirby 64 remake would be awesome, it's been a while since I've played that game.
I liked the Avengers game and may even check it out but might wait for reviews first. I have enough in my backlog as is. Final Fantasy 7 Remake was AMAZING, even if I had to rewatch it on Youtube since the stream was crapping out on me.
Since it's getting close to time... What I'm excited to see is something on Animal Crossing, as that's a given. Anything Mario related, preferably a Super Mario Odyssey sequel. It would be nice to see more on Town because it looks like it has the potential to be another great and NEW IP. Also, the new Smash fighter. It would be pretty cool if it WAS Banjo Kazooie like people are saying, but I'm gonna guess the only appearance Microsoft would have is their indie titles. Maybe Xbox Games Pass.
Regardless of what is shown, I just want the show to be NOW.
Ni no Kuni Remastered missing the Switch had me befuddled until I realized that it was just a visual upgrade, and now I'm just disappointed that they don't seem to be doing anything to overhaul the combat and AI that plagued the original release.
Disgaea 4 Complete+ kind of needed to happen since the previous upgraded version was only on the Vita. I'm getting tired of rebuying the same Disgaea games so many times over, though.
I'd be super-duper happy if it turned out the newly-announced Puzzle & Dragons Gold was headed to the West...yes, I still care about that franchise...
I'm also happy to see more obscure RTS games getting remastered, especially ones that broke away from the usual C&C style base-building mechanics. Commandos 2 HD and Praetorians HD should be a breath of fresh air.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot looks like it might be One Piece: World Seeker all over again - where they make a standard Ubisoft-style sandbox with anime trappings. It might have a stronger story focus this time around, but I still don't think "Goku wandering around a canyon collecting random junk and fighting generic mooks with the occasional bossfight" really screams "Dragon Ball". It still might be okay, but I'm no longer hyped for it.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled's free seasonal content announcement has me worried, since I'm not interested in racing online, but I'm not sure I can get the new characters without doing so, and within a limited time frame. I guess I'll have to wait until the first season comes out, but if it comes off like it's forcing me to play it within a certain date to get major content, then I'm just gonna pass on the game all together. My hobbies don't get to dictate my life.
And I still got gameplay videos I can get caught up on while I wait for Nintendo's show to start.
