I would say it is different and tweaked. The DSiWare version I would also say is closer to this one. This time there is no controling the minis out side of starting them. You have to control different types of minis at the same time. The additions like the retractable conveyor girders are kinda neat. the scoring system is a bit nicer as most levels fall in the 15000 points range.
MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS I just got this game for Christmas and it is pretty awesome! In two days I already got to the plus levels! I am a bit disapointed with the Boss Battles, but other than that it is pretty good. I'm still debating if this is as good (or worse) than the last two games. And I don't really like the trophy idea, I liked the stars better, but whatever. But the online on this game is incredible. It is a very good game, and I would recomend this to anyone.

I'm enjoying it, going to finish off the main game first to have everything available in the Construction Zone. As the IGN review says, the game could use a speed-up button. Other than that, its good.
For me this is kind of a let down, but I still really enjoy it. And unlocking Mini DK and Mini Peach for the construction zone is gonna be so hard... And I don't mean the multi-door setting, I mean the reglar settings...

Currently playing the main game, and I have to say this game is a lot better than I expected it to be. I thought this was just another expansion like Minis March Again was, but it turns out I was wrong. It's different in a lot of ways [like how the Mini-Marios cannot stop moving once you start them] and I personally enjoyed the challenging boss battles so far. I'll take a look into the Construction Zone once I finish the main game, and I'll post my code in the Online Gaming section when I am ready to create and share levels.
@HyperKnuckles - The DSiWare version was more than an expansion! It introduced the "minis can't move" idea, and had a vastly improved online mode from the first one. If anything MLM is an expansion of the DSiWare version (although all 3 have their differences).
I got it for Christmas, and have played little since. The levels are easy yet fun, the level editor has captivated me. I've made 4 levels so far (6 including Challenge levels), and I'm starting to realize that more is possible in the level editor than I initially thought (I though the lack of switches and gates would be a hindrance, but there's other ways to do the same thing).
