Yeah, I've never used a Healer or a Magic user in Etrian Odyssey before. It's usually pretty doable without one, though it is much harder. I think I'll use a Medic this time, though. They sound almost too useful, with the non-Healing skills this time. They're the status Effect Guys, the Naturalist guys, and the healer. And they deal quite a bit of damage. That's insane. How will the others keep up with him?

I know what you mean. The Nightseeker looked good too. I thought about using one instead of a Sniper. That's what I'm mainly doing with the 3DS demo--playing around with party configurations so I'm ready when the real game gets here.

If its anything like the old game certain missions require a certain level character later on in the game so your going to want to level some of those other characters up as well. I try to switch up my party every 5 levels or so just to keep the balance. Also later on some bosses will be more effected from certain attacks from specific characters! Others you relied on up to that point might be useless!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Loving it so far (and who am I kidding...I"ll keep loving it). I didn't do too much as I am trying to finish Crimson Shroud, but as with EO3, love the atmosphere, music and vibrancy of the 1st level. While I love the 2D enemies from EO3, I do like the 3D enemies. And the 3D is good too.
The baboons killed 3 of my party because I went out of my way to get.... a healing potion?
I chose a Landsknecht, a Fortress, a Runemaster, a Medic, and a Nightseeker for my first party. It worked out pretty well.
I love how they combined the sailing from EO3 into this version by making you use it instead of it being optional. I spent way to much time sailing in EO3 instead of playing the main game. Not that was a bad thing it just took away from my actually beating it!

Anyone know how to make a Nightseeker dual wield weapons? I think it's blade flurry but the description is kind of funky if it is. Going into equipment doesn't seem to allow this either? I've tried searching online as well.

By the way, anyone knows how to get to that tree grotto? The one being guarded by 2 giant kangabunnies? I get a feeling that that's where I must go to complete a quest (just a guess) but it's impossible to sneak past these things!

My Nightseeker had 2 weapons equipped. You must need to have at least one point in Blade Flurry before it will let you equip two weapons, and make sure you're trying to equip him/her with weapons they can use. Nightseekers can only use light weapons.

Thanks. That being said, that means the skill description is strange..........

It's possible to slay them in the demo, but it's a little tough. There's no reason to fight them however. You can't enter the place they're guarding in the demo.
