@Spider-Kev @The_Nintend_Pedant I feel the real problem is the fact that the pro controller doesn’t work with some games, and is missing a few features (cough cough, mouse mode).
@Spider-Kev Eh, that’s how you feel. I think that the pro controller back buttons are a bit too easy to press, but their in a good spot, which I perfer to the back buttons that are too hard to press in useless spots that I can’t hit.
@The_Nintend_Pedant It’s $10 (USD, might be different other places) more than a normal ps5 controller, and equal to a special edition one. If lowering the bar also lowers the prices compared to a $200 ps5 pro controller, in which the only thing I care about are the back buttons, then I’m happy with the lowered bar.
I originally thought that I wouldn’t buy the upgrade packs, but the performance and resolution upgrades look and sound like they’re great, making it hard to resist upgrading to nso expansion pack and trying them out, especially with the playtest being locked to expansion pack users
10/10 direct. Before, I had almost no interest in getting this, and was just gonna save up for Splatoon Raiders. The direct completely validated the game and is making me excited for when it comes out.
@TAndvig What’s the difference between this and a micro sd card? Other than the fact that the MIG works via the game card slot. Now if you already have those games downloaded and with the new express cards you’re screwed over, now I understand. If you don’t, this is the exact same as a digital game except it’s read from the game card slot.
@JohnnyMind WHAT? I thought you off all people would have a switch 2 day one. But my order is gonna be ready for pickup on Friday (fingers crossed). No delivery because its best buy
@__Link__ @Deerock69 Yeah, I would already have not gotten it on switch 1 (if it was there) because it’s code in a box, but this is the ENTIRE POINT OF KEY CARDS! EA probably just being greedy because this is a great game to buy, play with a friend/partner, and then resell to recoup some of the costs.
@Ramouz Yeah, I can’t go in store to costco sadly. Combination of distance and work. Got one from yesterday’s best buy restock, cause I can stare at a screen and reload a page for as long as I need to. Sadly its gonna be ready to pick up NEXT friday
@ZonaiResearcher Not that. People have been saving up for it for a while. I just barely was able to get a switch 2 from Best Buy’s restock, and I have almost no (non-emergency fund) money left.
@Ramouz PS has a few, like spider man 2 (just platinumed the first around an hour ago), and if you missed out on the ps4 generation, thats where most of the good games are like ghost of tsushima and spider man 1.
@Ramouz Man bro, I couldn’t go to costco and online orders didn’t open at midnight like I planned. I had to wake up early so I went to sleep at appx. 12:30, and when I checked next, it was sold out everywhere. The closest target to me that has a switch 2 is 25 miles away, so I have no chance of getting the switch 2 soon. Just gotta hope for the restock. Sorry to dump this on you, just kinda mad at scalpers and sad I can’t experience the switch 2 day 1.
@Ramouz Nice to know. I have been using nintendo products for a while, but my first was a GBA. Got out of gaming for a while, but the wii brought me back in. Skipped the 8th gen, until December 2018 when I got my switch. Now, I am a huge Nintendo fanboy, and have only been playing on my ps5 to play the ps exclusives I’ve been missing out on. Planning on plugging in my dad’s old ps3 (that can play ps2 disks, I checked) to play the old ones too, but I am going to stop once a worthwhile switch 2 game comes out (read: DKB)
@Ramouz Like you can unplug it and it will keep the games in quick resume? Cause if you can’t, then it just uses electricity to keep the games slightly open. Best way to know is if it’s supported on Series S. Also, saw your earlier comment on how you couldn’t get into the switch. I personally don’t use my switch outside of the house, and I only use it undocked. I also play on my PS5 so I can see the difference. The portability for me is mainly so I can use it when other people use the TV, and so that I can move around while using it. Quick question, have you tried using the pro controller. I have small hands, so the joycon/grip combo is fine for me, but I heard the pro controller is better for people with bigger hands, plus it seems a lot like an xbox controller.
@Ramouz It sounds like the Xbox has the quick resume data saved in the ssd, rather than however PS or Nintendo do it. That would allow for the game to be saved even when power to it is turned off. Just a question, how do you know it keeps the data in an outage?
@Ramouz Eh, my PS5 has a feature a bit like quick resume. If you put the console in rest mode while in a game, the next time you boot up your console you get put right where you were in the game. I still save right before going into rest mode though. Old habits die hard.
I’m so happy for this, even though I fell off fortnite. I used to play on Switch only, which is considered the worst console to play fortnite on. Now with so many new features on Switch 2, it might be the best console to play fortnite on, with a chance that pro players might use it because of optimizations.
EDIT: Plus, with gameshare, pros might be able to easily see enemies near teammates.
@Samalik Yeah, but companies basically do them already, not even counting code-in-a-box. I can only think of the Metal gear solid and arkham trilogy, but those have one game on cart. There are worse contenders tho
@Ramouz I would recommend the PS5 for everything but gamepass. Everything from XBX and some great exclusives like Spider man and Ghost of tsushima (Didn’t play much on my PS5 til recently, so these are the only PS5 games I have). But you also get access to ps4 games like God of War and Uncharted.
@Anti-Matter No matter how negative this comment is, I still agree with it. Xbox’s whole plan is Game Pass. If they stop that, they’ll have to back out of the console wars. Plus, when they were talking about how last gen was the worst gen to lose because people were starting to build their online library, game pass encourages people to NOT build an online library, so it’s a lose/lose situation.
@BlueBCA I use gyro for everything, and HD rumble is nice to have, but not everybody likes them, so I can see you not caring too much. But yeah, wired is a deal breaker. Also, I just realized how the decorated ones look cool when you’re not using them, then just look dumb. They need a pattern to look cool, not just a random picture online. And the pattern can’t just be too much, or its not going to be good either. For a good controller, look at the sea of thieves Xbox one.
@axelhander I used myself as an example. When the switch 1 launched, according to a Japanese firm, each joy con cost $90 to manufacture. That’s not to say they didn’t become cheaper to make over time, but when 2 years later they offer a free program to fix the controllers, and in some cases require to replace the controller full out, that adds up.
@axelhander But how do you think Nintendo makes money. I buy Nintendo stuff because I can trust that they make is good and quality (mostly, there are some outliers like Mario Strikers SW or any Mario Party on 3ds). If not, I would just buy a Steam Deck or PS5/XBX. Their reputation is what keeps them alive. Also, while it didn’t seem to impact the bottom line, it definitely affected their total profits. They could be making so much more money if they didn’t have to offer free repairs. Plus, at least they offer free repairs, unlike PS or XB.
EDIT: Rereading this, and it sounds kinda apprehensive. Sorry, didn’t mean it that way.
@SalvorHardin The magnets are. They can’t have kids messing up the connection port by ripping the joy-cons out. Have you seen how easily magnets for wireless charging disconnect? The switch 2 magnets are so strong, the button literally has to break the magnetic field to disconnect the joy-cons.
@Anti-Matter I have a feeling that Nintendo and Sony being Japanese companies may have something to do with the fact that they’re more favorable. And XBOne might also do.
I don’t like the idea of ‘not hall effect = bad’. Hall effect uses magnets if I am correct. Wouldn’t that mess up the connection? Also, Nintendo probably stress tested the joy cons/pro controller a lot. Stick drift costed them a lot, in credibility and money.
Sun and Moon was my second favorite series. Ultra beasts were a cool idea, but I think they should have been more like divergent evolutions in the card game, to make them more of a ‘what if’ this happened to [blank] pokemon rather than ‘more pokemon but different’. I think ancient pokemon should have evolved into future pokemon, but that’s unrelated.
Interesting, but please put a nudity warning over your pictures please. I’m not here to see naked ladies. I’m here to look at Nintendo news/fun facts (of which this is).

Re: Nintendo Music "Special Release" Adding Tracks From Kirby's New Switch 2 Game
@WiiWouldLikeToPlay Yeah, but shadow drop as in a few weeks after announcement. Not day after.
Re: Nintendo Music "Special Release" Adding Tracks From Kirby's New Switch 2 Game
Good way of generating hype.
Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Upcoming Switch 2 Games
@Cakefish I don’t care MP4 as much as Splatoon Raiders. Why did they shadow-announce it, but not give any details 😩
Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games & Accessories For August & September 2025
@OctolingKing13 I agree with @FishyS, except for the direct. Prime four is probably coming in September.
Re: Japanese Variety Show Ranks Nation's Favourite Games, Mario & Animal Crossing Miss Top Spot
@TheExile285 I’ve heard that Splatoon is a very popular series in Japan.
Re: Pokémon Rolling Out Brand New App For Competitive Players
That sounds pretty useful for those who will use it. Hopefully it doesn’t have a trash UI or is riddled with ads.
Re: Around 1 In 3 Switch 2 Owners Bought New Pro Controller Despite High Price Point (US)
@Spider-Kev Why not? It’s a great accessibility feature, considering that most people that I know that don’t play on switch play using kb + m
