@BenAV I'm with you on the SMT IV side. I struggled with it on 3DS but having recently lost my console I decided to try again, emulated it on PC and enjoyed it immensely.
I know I started to struggle in Tokyo due to its complete lack of comprehensible map of the overworld. But having it on a bigger screen somehow alleviated that (even though the scale stayed the same).
Wait what? Cloud version for a game with subpar graphics? What gives? I mean, lookatit. Graphics is not at PS4 level at all. I can easily bet my arm that with even a LITTLE care it could run natively on Switch. Maybe even at 1080p docked.
A well-deserved score. It's been fun for about a month or two upon release but pay-to-win mechanics introduced soon after ruined it copmpletely. Also, it's always been mind-numbingly grindy.
Utter nonsense! The gameplay is bland and item synergies are almost nonexistent.
Go play Binding of Isaac for the same concept but immeasurably better, or Hades for a superb roguelite experience.
Artstyle is kinda redeeming... Not enough for me to go on artstyle alone though.
The Dark Eye dilogy is so good. I might just buy it on Switch to experience it all again. I never liked Deponia so for me it's the pinnacle of Daedalic point&click adventures.
Sword of the Necromancer miiiiight do it too. Don't know yet. I've come to hating roguelikes as a whole class lately...
And oh, Heaven's Vault! My personal 2019 GOTY. Not going to rebuy it since I have already completed everything on PC.
This is a very decent puzzle game. It's been out on PC for quite a while and I had a blast playing it. Rough around the edges, surely, but more than decent enough to warrant at least a 7, maybe an 8.
NB: this is my experience from 2015. YMMV, especially so because with a few years of development the game might have changed considerably.
Skyforge was (still is?) a pretty decent game albeit it gets very heavy on grind in the later stages (or used to be as such a few years back when it just released). I dumped quite a few hours in without spending a dime.
What turned me off completely was a system where you had to spend craptons of cash or grind 24/7 to achieve any meaningful progress with a certain aspect of progression (or so I remember). It did not lock you out of content but hampered this aspect quite severely.
Gameplay used to be quite good at the time, both solo and party dungeons. Class and build variety were great but unlocking 'later' classes came at a cost where you had literally no materials left to power them up and had to jump on a treadmill of resource grinding. Or just swipe your card to get a 'starter pack' with those classes unlocked.
Even for two players a home would need two Switches and two carts. We only have one Switch, so to play with my kid I'll need to dig up $500 somewhere...
This is a very nice roguelike. But it's still a roguelike of which we have had tons and tons lately... Besides, it's been available on Epic and Steam for quite a while already. Hard pass on switch.
Moving on to Catherine, right after finishing Xenoblade Chronicles and Future Connected. I got burned out at Alcamoth (first visit) on my 3DS a few years ago... But this version is most definitely the Definitive.

NL giving a score of 10 to a not Zelda. That's new.

Boxed. Sad but true.
Because of one word.
DUST.

Re: Pre-Orders Are Live For This Sweet Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Figma Figure
Is it just me or is the figure looking much more buff then the in-game model?
Re: Bravely Default Mobile Spin Off Releases In Japan This Month
No character gacha. Thank gods or whoever.
Still does not mean there are no weapon or skill gacha, as was the case with Chromatic Souls (was quite enjoyable, by the way - while it lasted).
Re: Gallery: Here Are Six New Screenshots Of Sonic Frontiers, Coming To Nintendo Switch Holiday 2022
Here we go (again?)
Openworld Zelda
Openworld Kirby
Openworld Sonic
What next? Openworld Metroid?
Re: Nintendo Download: 12th August (Europe)
I'll be taking Black Book. Backed it on Kickstarter and I'm very excited to finally get to play it.
Re: Poll: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD's Biggest Question - How Do You Pronounce Fi?
I pronounce it...
FEUER FREI

Yup, backed it on Kickstarter and very enthusiastic about it!
Re: 'All Aksys' Showcase Event Will Feature At Least 7 Switch Games
Undernauts. Giving me a lot of SMT, Wizardry, Etrian Odyssey vibes.
Re: Review: Ys IX: Monstrum Nox - A Fine Action-RPG With Performance Issues On Switch
@suikoden I'm not based in UK so...
Re: Review: Ys IX: Monstrum Nox - A Fine Action-RPG With Performance Issues On Switch
Pricing discrepancy between PC and Switch in my region is immense. Switch version is almost 4 times the price of PC version...
Guess I'll be playing this one on PC after all.
Re: After Months Of 'Switch Pro' Rumours, Nintendo Officially Unveils The Nintendo Switch OLED Model
I can rest easy now knowing that I won't have to buy this new model.
Maybe a few years down the line, when Switch Next is announced...
Re: Nintendo Download: 27th May (Europe)
Yup, I went and got myself a full dose of a well-preserved SMT.
I have no regrets.

I was looking forward to the dual release, but not at this price.
Re: The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles Will Use An English-Style Court System
Hoooley moley. Day one buy for me, that's beyond any doubt.
Re: The Spirit Of The Game Boy Printer Lives On Thanks To Fujifilm And Your Nintendo Switch
@RupeeClock It's akin to Polaroid in that it doesn't use ink or toner cartridges but instead utilizes cards with prefilled ink pouches.
Re: Check Out The Reveal Trailer For Demon Skin, Hack-And-Slashing To Switch Later This Year
Honestly, looks visually nice but kinda-sorta barebones.
Is this going to be another uninspired roguelite? Hope not.

Re: R-Type Final 2 Won't Follow The "Bullet Hell" Trend Seen In Recent Shmups
Wow. I hate bullet hell and associated mechanics of ship's vulnerable 'core', scraping, dodging, etc. I haven't played a decent shmup in years.
Might actually get this one!

The delicious fuzzyness of characters is gone in upscaling... Meh.
Re: Free-To-Play JRPG Caravan Stories Is Coming To Switch
@Anti-Matter thankfully, not ALL of them. But it's very hard to find that 0.01% of all free2play games that are actually good and worthy.
Re: Nintendo Download: 19th November (Europe)
I'd love to get Sakuna but short on spare cash atm. Will get later or on sale.

Re: Random: Remember To Charge Your Switch At Least Twice A Year, Nintendo Helpfully Suggests
You guys are missing the 'I barely ever get it out of the dock' option...
Re: Review: Rebel Galaxy Outlaw - Deliciously Daring Dogfighting In The Depths Of Space
I have played this on PC but decided against keeping it. Controls are (were?) atrocious, and randomness regarding enemy placement was often unfair.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 26th)
Managed to finally track down and pick up a copy of Ring Fit Adventure. Great stuff!

Re: Magical Puzzle-Platformer Ageless Launches Today On Nintendo Switch
Ugh... the 'art'style is an incredible turn-off. Even though I like the roguelike genre itself.
Re: Nintendo Will Reportedly Release A $250 LEGO NES Console Next Month
Make it a LEGO set but also an actual working console and I'm sold.

Re: Soapbox: I've Been Playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons Wrong All This Time, But No More
The star rating is vastly overrated and totally unnecessary
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 6th)
Only playing Xenoblade Chronicles. Until I beat it at least once, nothing else for me.
Re: Review: The Elder Scrolls: Blades - A Grindy Free-To-Play Bastardisation Of Bethesda's RPG Classic
