@Chatham "I think for streaming video "DVD-quality" sounds impossible... "
Netflix already does that so long as you have enough bandwitdh available, and it won't be issue at Japan where typical connection is at least 2 MB/s. And Wii is more than enough for decoding MPEG2 / MPEG4 on the fly, although it wouldn't be able to decode HD-content.
"Why bother developing a motion-enabled update of a NES game if you need to use NES-style controls for the final battles? That's just bad design if ever there was any."
Shrugh. I have so far went King Hippo TD with motion controls. Seems working fine for me. It's not really my problem that most reviewers are uncoordinated slouches.
"Punch Out!! also allows you to use the Wii Fit Balance board, but it ends up being more of a novelty than a useful control method. You can choose to make use of it for the ducking and dodging play control aspects of the game, but it ultimately ends up being too sluggish and unresponsive."
Actually, it works just fine if you actually do duck and dodge instead of half-hearted efforts.
@warioswoods "Ugh, Matt from IGN is the most incompetent "journalist" in the world of gaming."
So far as writing goes, certainly. But ironically he has also broke most exclusive stories in his business. It's just annoying to find the gem piles of poor writing.
@Jhuhn "The other VC game from Technos is titled "Downtown Special: Its Kunio's Period Piece, Assemble Everyone!""
Yeah. It's sequel to River City Ransom, and it is set to medieval japan. Plays pretty much same way as RCR, although it does also have some unfortunate slowdown. It was never released in the west.
That list is actually incomplete. We do know that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption has sold more than 1.5 million copies, and Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess has sold at least 5.5 million copies on Wii.
Sheesh, whiny little gamers. I find it rather hilarious how "angry" people get over non-living things, and think that they are entitled to have something.
When interviewed by german GamePro, the game's director Kensue "Kenji" Tanabe said that there would be lots of unlockables ranging from the new suits to new challenges and boxers. He also claimed that they were first 1st party game to have problems with fitting all content into DVD (probably single-layered, but still).

Re: Sin & Punishment 2 E3 Trailer
It was immediately obvious who was posting the news when this was first game to be posted.
Re: Klonoa 3? Depends On Wiimake's Sales
"That's a no, then. Apparantly in the first week, it only got 1000 sales across America"
Yup. But then again, the game wasn't even officially sold during the tracked period. All those 1000 copies are from stores that broke street dates.

@TwilightV "EDIT: Or at least it is if what Teppo claims is true... which I now seriously doubt."
I understood that Matt was teasing about 1st party game.
Re: Rampant Speculation: IGN Teases New 'Hardcore' Title
It is clearly Dynamic Slash, which Nintendo announced last october. Here is the screenshot:

It is developed by Sandlot, which is best known in the west for its Global / Earth Defence Force games.
Re: Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles Spoilers Leaked?
Capcom deleted any references to that Gamefaqs post from their own forums, so I guess it is legit stuff.
Re: Interviews: Matt Bozon, Adam Tierney, and Sean Velasco of WayForward - Part Two
"Karnov on NES would also be fun to revive, but with the death of Data East, who knows who owns that character now?"
By my understanding, all old Data East properties are owned by Paon.
Re: They Sold a Million: Nintendo's Biggest Titles Revealed
@SanderEvers "Wii Play - 22.9 million
Well that's just becuase you get a Remote with the game."
If people were just buying it for remote, then why they wouldn't buy it instead of Wii Player? After all, remote is 10 dollars cheaper that way.

Re: Contra ReBirth Announced, Approaching
We know that Konami has already trademarked Goonies and Salamander Rebirths too. I was surprised that Konami still has rights for Goonies.

Re: Official Punch Out!! Site Reveals New Brawler
That is most probably Piston Honda. Shape of silhouette's head hints at headband.

Re: Muramasa: The Demon Blade Loses North American Publisher
"This screams an Atlus release to me."
Ubisoft is more likely, considering that they already published No More Heroes for Marvelous.

Re: Wii Gift feature out now in EU and US
"You can't give gifts to Wii friends with Wiis registered in other countries."
This is quite understandable considering that VAT's are different in different countries.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
"is this version in any way optimised for pal???"
All Nintendo's own N64 games that were made after Lylat Wars were PAL optimized.
