@Tao That's how I feel too. The "support" cut scenes feel dry, and there are so many of them! Occasionally you learn something new about a character, but for the most part it's just seeing their archetypes acted out. Oh, wow, Raphael is hungry, huge, and sort of dim...what a surprise. Only [mild spoiler!] learning about his parents was sort of engaging.
Mostly I find myself a little annoyed with having characters that are so...flat. You spend so much time getting to know them, but they're predictable. I know them after two conversations.
This is actually my first time playing a FE game, and while I'm liking it overall I'm not sure it's "GOTY" like some people are saying.
I've never really tried visual novels before. They always struck me as being really cliche and trope-filled. I like the art-style here, though. I might pick it up if the price is reasonable.
@MadMaestroNole Yes, same. I'm starting to figure it out, but since knowing the weaknesses and strengths is essential I feel like you should be able to hover the cursor and get alt-text or something that says "pike" or "archer" or whatever to help clarify.
To no one in particular - the game does feel ridiculously difficult to me sometimes. Especially the Ceasar side missions. Maybe I'm just not good at it, but with the exception of the first two levels I can't get above one star. That might be because it's just based on number of turns right now, and my play style doesn't really fit with rushing in. I like to hang back, build up my forces, etc...

Re: Fire Emblem: Three Houses Becomes The Largest Fire Emblem Launch In US History
@LUIGITORNADO Yes, I agree. This is my first FE game, so I don't really have a huge swath of comparisons, but the maps all feel repetitive to me.
As for the classes — everyone but Gremory on a horse makes for pacing problems and feels uninspired.
I'm really, really enjoying the game, but I do think it's merits are more in how you get attached to the characters than in the mechanics.

That's the lowest minimum GPA I've ever seen.
