@GoproGO Playstation and Xbox advertise themselves as media boxes. Nintendo Switch advertise themselves as gaming devices. While a media device is expect to have a streaming app, a gaming device is not. While it's a nice addition, it's not needed. My Phone, Chromebook, Smart TV, and/or PC can fill that role with ease. Let my gaming device be what it's for: gaming.
@Strawblaze Your right, the consumer has a choice when buying whatever they want. They can choose to buy a Nintendo Switch/2 to play games or a PC/Media/Laptop for internet and streaming purposes. I don't know about you, but I buy a Nintendo gaming device to play games, not stream TV shows.
@Serpenterror I wouldn't say dedicated console are going to dye out. For one, PCs are still VERY expensive and not exactly user friendly to those that just want to play games. Troubleshooting a PC alone is a nightmare.
With consoles solely being made just to play games, it makes them easier to use and less likely to have any problems. I've had maybe 1 tech issues with my Nintendo systems. Which compared tech issues being had every other day (I wish I was making this up) of a Windows PC, it's perfectly fine to have.
Not surprising. Streaming apps aren't much of a thing nor needed for the Switch line. Major people have a laptop, Chromebook, or smartphone for such things.
@Joeynator3000 oh, WORLD. I thought you said Wild. Heha.
Still, same. The team that did world and doing wild is focusing WAY too much on graphics and realism. I like the action and arcade style gameplay of Rise. ^^
@Joeynator3000 The ones that made Wild is the "console" team. The ones that made Rise is the "handheld" team. Hence why the games feel different when you compare the two.
It is nice to play Rise on the Switch 2. The better performance is nice. ^^
Unless this comes with cross play to play with the other consoles, I don't have much interest in Wilds. I still prefer the other team that made Rise. Much more fun in my opinion. ^^
@Smithicus Monster Hunter Rise. Compare to the pervious games of this series, it's has faster gameplay and noob friendly. Definitely worth picking up if it's your first time playing Monster Hunter.
@Lizuka Unlikely as he did say in an interview, he wouldn't make a port or sequel of the game. Kid Icarus Uprising would be the last one of the series.
Got this game a week ago. I wasn't aware it had FPS issues. I don't even notice the frame pacing issues. 30 FPS for an turned based RPG is fine in my book. Especially if the gameplay and style are great. ^^
It's Nintendo. It was either going to be a big success or a big flop. Given they are riding on the success of the Switch 1, it was going to do well. Price is irrelevant when it comes to gamers. They'll pay for the console and games no matter what. ^^
@SpaceboyScreams Yet, many gamers are perfectly fine with how things are. A score of 70/80 out of 100 may seem terrible to some, yet it still a passing grade. You call it being naive. I call it be a realist and accepting things at face value.
Could the game use some improvements? Yes. But you can say that about ANYTHING, not just video games. Sadly, we humans are idiots and will pay outrages sums for even the lowest common denominator. It's how our brains work.
If being "smart" means being miserable and complaining about every little thing in a video game, I'll continue to be an "idiot" and be happy. ^^
@PinderSchloss Pokemon has always been a 2nd party company. You'll have to take your complaints up with GameFreak as they are developers, not Nintendo.
Eitherway, it's subjective what you find mediocre. Yes, no game is perfect, but Legends is not bad game. But what do I know. I like to play video games for fun, not critic them. XP
I'm still working on the Hyrule Warriors DE. I still want to get the HW Calamity as well. I have a Switch 2. I heard Calamity runs well on it and HW DE runs great on the new hardware.
I'm looking forward to more Hyrule Warriors series.
@Cheez Then don't buy it. The majority of gamers will buy the game cause they want it and can afford it. They also understand that Video Gaming is a luxury. It's going to be pricey, whether you like it or not. If you can't afford it, then you in the wrong hobby.
@cylemmulo Games can have low effort and still be fun. It's subjective. Who says a big company like Pokemon can't do indie level quality? We ALL know the haters would do a 180 and praise the title if this was done by an indie dev.
@Serpenterror Because we never rarely see the otherwise of the corporate world. Most likely, they are being pushed by the shareholders to release this game on the schedule they agreed too. After all, a delay in release is a lose of money for them.
Stupid, yes, but devs are always at the whims of whoever signs their checks.
Kudos! Nice to see Legends: Z-A doing well. Even if it's just for the Legends series, I would like to see this real time combat system done more often in Pokémon games. ^^
@Antraxx777 Never owned a Sega system. Plus, not the best example. They no longer make consoles due to losing to Nintendo. If I recall correctly, Sega had the stronger system yet still lost. The lesson I'm seeing here is focus more on the games than the power of the system. ^^
@Ultimapunch He wouldn't I don't recall any launch titles for any console having an extensive library at the start. At least with the Switch 2, you can easily play your Switch 1 titles. That's a plus in my book. ^^
@nhSnork BL3 was on Switch? My mistake. Still, the ports of the game for Switch still feel rather sub par. I would LOVE to see a Switch 2 performance upgrade for those games to include 60 FPS. Sadly, low chance of that happening due to them being WAY older games.
@The-Chosen-one Yes. Even the ports of the older borderlands game for Switch 1 have split screen co-op. BL 3 skipped switch, but you can the inferior ports of 1,2, and presequel.
They aren't bad game, but they fun better on non-switch hardware. 3rd Party devs have no idea how to optimize for Nintendo consoles.
@dePaige22 It doesn't change the fact that rising cause for games and tech is a fact of life. Gaming is a luxury. It always has been. It has never been been cheap. Either the hardware to build a PC for gaming is expensive or the video games are expensive.
As the article has mentioned, there are PLENTY of people that willing to pay the cost no matter what. The fact that Nintendo does target the younger and casual audience is irrelevant. Your personal circumstances are also irrelevant. If the product is deemed good, people will pay for it. No matter what.
This isn't surprising as all. Any fan will pay the price. And those who understand that gaming is an expensive hobby to begin. If you can't afford to deal with rising cost of video games, your in the wrong hobby.
@Cero Not sure if this helps, but does it happen when you try to use a different TV or Monitor? I notice the freezing issues when trying to wake up from sleep with an old monitor I had. Once I switch to a new Monitor, it doesn't freeze anymore when trying to wake up from sleep mode.
@Kienda Even so, adding more options isn't always a good thing. Even if the player count it high, this game allows for 24 racers at a time. Double MK8D.
We already have 4 modes of play that split the player base during matchmaking. We don't need more options to split the player base any further. More isn't always better after all.
@Mokabe_brotha You do realize this is Nintendo right? I understand not everything is perfect, but they are a hard headed company. I don't see them changing their ways so easily. It's one thing to listen to gamers but it's another to go against the creator's intent for their games.
@Kienda That would just split the matchmaking and make it harder for players to pair up in races. Adding the option to "opt out " of intermission races is not the answer. They'll probably adjust the RNG of seeing such races down the line at some point just like they did now.
Till they, I say adapt to it and move on. It's not a big deal.

@NolandC Yes. Switch 2 is backwards compatible with most of Switch 1 peripherals. Things like Labo won't work due to the size.

Be careful what you wish for. If we get VA for a Pokémon game, I have feeling the dubbed would be VERY bad...
