Re: "A Mixed Result" - Digital Foundry Gives Its Tech Verdict For Beyond Good & Evil On Switch

Perryg92

I don't think it was mentioned in the DF analysis but just a PSA some of the bugs from the original version still remain!

After 11hrs of play I reached the final boss area and the NPC companion Double H I had alongside me simply vanished as I was about to push the last button to get to the boss... His vanishing act completely broke the game!
I tried resetting the game with both my previous autosaves and the manual save which was prior to his vanishing act!, but it didn't work.

There was literally around 10-15mins left of the game to go!
I can't bring myself to start the game entirely from scratch as for all I know that glitch could happen again.

The previous 10hrs 59mins playing it on Switch though were great and a nice nostalgia trip.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's N64 Library With Two More Titles

Perryg92

How is it I never heard of these 2 games before, yet I was a full on N64 kid back in the 90s!? xD

Still keeping my fingers crossed games like Diddy Kong Racing, Conker's BFD, Tetrisphere, Top Gear Overdrive & Rocket: Rocket: Robot on Wheels comes to the service eventually.

I know it's all about licensing, and I working within TV show rights know it's all a tricky business. But feel such a missed opportunity for Atlus.
Would have been neat to release Snowboard Kids in tandem with the Vinyl that was just announced.
Would have accumulated a fair bit of additional hype.

Re: Video: Satisfye's New Switch Grip Should Satisfy Handheld Fans

Perryg92

I've tried various alternatives including the Hori Split Pad Pro but didn't feel quite right.
I did eye up Satisfye a few years ago, but it was always £80-90 back then which I found a bit too steep, especially if my joycons eventually drifted.
(I see now it's around £45-50).

In the end I opted to buy and stuck with the Skull & Co NeoGrip for the last 2 years
Has interchangeable grip handle types (I have stuck with the trigger grips) and it works on both the original model and OLED (just have to unscrew or rescrew in a bit of plastic to adjust the size).

Been quite the gamechanger in terms of comfort. No more pins and needles in my handles after 1hr or so. I can play handheld really comfortably for hours on end now.
Thankfully my Skyward Sword joycons that have been in the grip all this time are yet to drift!

Only issue I'd say is that the grips are hard plastic. Kinda wish there was a slight soft, rubberised feel to them.
Considering they offer interchangeable grips and sell different colours too, to match your joycon, unfortunate there's no different texture options.

But I got it for £20 and still in use all the time, so it's definitely done its job well.

Re: Deals: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door - £10 Off In UK, Paper Plane Pre-Order Bonus

Perryg92

Preordered my copy the other day from The Game Collection.
Had £10 worth of points to use, so £32.95 wasn't too shabby!

Better than when I was trying to get a GC copy back in 2020-21 to build my GC collection, but it was going for absurd prices around £150-200 due to its rarity!
(Those prices have almost halved now after the Switch version announcement! I guess thanks Nintendo for making the game more widely available again)

Re: Disney Dreamlight Valley Will No Longer Be Free-To-Play When It Leaves Early Access In December

Perryg92

I got the game a few months after the early access originally released for £18 in a small sale.
My expectations were extremely low, but I was shocked that I actually got super into it. (granted I was on bedrest with the top half of my spine fractured, so needed some chill escapism, but with no fast button mashing reactions! xD)

I did drop off for a while the moment the premium store arrived, as I expected microtransactions galore to block progression etc... But been back a handful of times since and the store is very hidden away, seen it in the menu but not even looked at it, and you can just get on with all the quests as normal.

Perhaps the Kingdom Hearts fan in me seeped in a little bit, seeing all the Disney characters together. But honestly think it's a good game! Was relaxing, enjoyed the quests, and kept my mind off my injury... clocking in 100hrs overall to present. Not paid a single microtransaction either. So feel my £18 was totally worth it.

Hopefully Gameloft/Disney stick to that statement in terms of quality and fairness of the game, going forward.

Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online N64 Library With Another Game This Week

Perryg92

Ultimate troll move from Nintendo for me personally!
Me and my mates were waiting ages in hopes to play this for a game night. Tis the only N64 Mario Party game we never played.

We had our "Last" game night on Friday as their wives are all due to have kids in the next week or so... and today Ninty announce this... egregious!

(granted we did play MP Superstars anyway, so we're not burned that badly xD)

Re: Hands On: Born Of Bread Is A Cut Above Other Paper Mario-Like RPGs

Perryg92

I played the demo on the Switch eshop a few weeks back and found it very pleasant.
Gameplay was akin to the original Paper Mario's, so right up my street! And it looked great and ran well too on Switch.
Definitely on my radar!
Grateful there was a demo to try it out, otherwise I feel it would have flown right past me!

Re: Switch Port Specialist Feral Interactive Teases Another Two Games

Perryg92

I see dolphins, my mind immediately jumps to Endless Ocean! xD
Bring back that Wii gem!

Would like Feral to port either the Keeley Hawes TR trilogy (Legend/Anniversary/Underworld) or the reboot trilogy... but doubtful it'll happen this far into the Switch's life....
Then again we have Arkham collection coming soon, which everyone expecting to show up like 5 years ago on Switch xD

Re: Poll: Are You Still Playing Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Perryg92

110hrs of the game played. Finished the main story, completed 100 shrines and the majority of Lightroots.

A fair amount of side quests I still have left to do (hearing the Gerudo quest with those medicine ball looking things is a bit of a nightmare) and have other things I could do like upgrade my battery further and armour sets more, but decided to take a break for now as a lot of time was dedicated within that month and would like to change it up.

My PS5 & PSVR2 need some love and attention! xD ( + I really want to finally finish FFVII Remake before Rebirth after owning it for years!)

Re: The Lara Croft Collection Will Finally Launch On Switch Later This Month

Perryg92

Us Tomb Raider fans who own Switch consoles: "Please port over either the TR HD trilogy (Legend/Anniversary/Underworld) or the reboot trilogy!!"

Publisher: "We've heard your requests from our dear fans! Here you go!"

Jokes aside. Isn't Feral the super good at porting to Switch? They did Grid: Autosport and Alien: Isolation right?

Re: Surprise! The Mario Movie's Digital Release Is Out Today (US)

Perryg92

Amazon Prime UK have it listed for release on the 10th July. If official, that's quite a big gap compared to the US for those who want to check it out.

As a physical collector though, I've got my 4K special edition with the power star shaped case preordered from HMV. Hopefully won't be an even longer wait for the physical.

Re: It's Official, The Mario Movie Release Date Has Been Brought Forward For The UK Too

Perryg92

Just had this silly idea for the Mario movie... What if they have a post credits scene of Link getting magicked into Peach's Castle to see all the Mushroom Kingdom crew, and like Thor in Infinity War with the Guardians, he says "Who the hell are you guys?" xD

And then bam! cuts to black and they play the Smash Bros Ultimate menu music:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCmMRCBuuPc

Perfect set up for the NCU (Nintendo Cinematic Universe!)

Re: UK Charts: Metroid Prime Remastered Bags Franchise's Fourth Biggest Boxed Launch

Perryg92

I'm one of those people who opted for the physical and patiently waited until Friday.
Had the trilogy digitally on WiiU, but at the time wasn't into that genre and barely touched it.
But i've recently got more into that genre now and really enjoying this remaster. Got farther In one lengthy sitting on Saturday than I did with the original.
Hope Echoes and Corruption get the same treatment.

Re: Where To Pre-Order The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom On Switch

Perryg92

The Game Collection is £49.99
(they did bump it up to £60 just after the Direct, but then brought it back down).
So I preordered there just now at the £50 price point and then used my accumulated points from previous orders to get it for £31.
Honestly cannot complain one bit, getting Tears of the Kingdom for that price!

Re: NYXI Reveals A GameCube-Inspired Switch Controller With No Drifting

Perryg92

Legitimate question from a friend who loves GC controllers a bit too much xD and now wants these for his Switch:
"Do these NYXI Wizard controllers have motion controls so I can play Switch Sports Golf still?" xD

Doesn't appear so, right? There's no mention in the vid, press release and website that I can see.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 3 Is Out Now With New Custom Items Update

Perryg92

Just had a quick play. Nice selection of tracks.
I like that I never played Tour because it means London Loop and Berlin Byways are totally new to me and so I have zero clue which way turn on first playthrough! xD
Merry Mountain is cool, but a very simple track overall and in terms of layout feels too similar to Sky-High Sundae. Aesthetics are nice and Christmassy though.

Is it just me or is the AI more intense in these Booster courses? Their green shell shot accuracy is mental! xD

Not sure why it had to take a near decade but cool to see about the custom items. Should be interesting playing with friends in local multiplayer.
Wonder if next wave they will offer a bunch of the outfits etc for various characters from Tour.

Re: Nintendo Switch Sports Ad Tees Up Golf For November Release Date

Perryg92

Let's go! Golf was my favourite Wii Sports game. Fingers crossed it'll be just as fun here.
Hopefully it does release worldwide end of Nov as I have a game night with friends on the 1st weekend of Dec and we always pick up Switch Sports.
If Nintendo can also drop Wave 3 of MK8D and Goldeneye N64 just before my game night too, then we'll be all set! xD
