@Olrun a few years back I won a Yooka and Laylee plush directly from Playtonic themselves! Totally by surprise.
I made the mistake of later giving them to my nephew who was 3-4yrs at the time as he loved the duo. Never seen the duo plushies again! Dread to think if my sister threw them out!
I don't think it was mentioned in the DF analysis but just a PSA some of the bugs from the original version still remain!
After 11hrs of play I reached the final boss area and the NPC companion Double H I had alongside me simply vanished as I was about to push the last button to get to the boss... His vanishing act completely broke the game! I tried resetting the game with both my previous autosaves and the manual save which was prior to his vanishing act!, but it didn't work.
There was literally around 10-15mins left of the game to go! I can't bring myself to start the game entirely from scratch as for all I know that glitch could happen again.
The previous 10hrs 59mins playing it on Switch though were great and a nice nostalgia trip.
How is it I never heard of these 2 games before, yet I was a full on N64 kid back in the 90s!? xD
Still keeping my fingers crossed games like Diddy Kong Racing, Conker's BFD, Tetrisphere, Top Gear Overdrive & Rocket: Rocket: Robot on Wheels comes to the service eventually.
I know it's all about licensing, and I working within TV show rights know it's all a tricky business. But feel such a missed opportunity for Atlus. Would have been neat to release Snowboard Kids in tandem with the Vinyl that was just announced. Would have accumulated a fair bit of additional hype.
I've tried various alternatives including the Hori Split Pad Pro but didn't feel quite right.
I did eye up Satisfye a few years ago, but it was always £80-90 back then which I found a bit too steep, especially if my joycons eventually drifted.
(I see now it's around £45-50).
In the end I opted to buy and stuck with the Skull & Co NeoGrip for the last 2 years
Has interchangeable grip handle types (I have stuck with the trigger grips) and it works on both the original model and OLED (just have to unscrew or rescrew in a bit of plastic to adjust the size).
Been quite the gamechanger in terms of comfort. No more pins and needles in my handles after 1hr or so. I can play handheld really comfortably for hours on end now.
Thankfully my Skyward Sword joycons that have been in the grip all this time are yet to drift!
Only issue I'd say is that the grips are hard plastic. Kinda wish there was a slight soft, rubberised feel to them.
Considering they offer interchangeable grips and sell different colours too, to match your joycon, unfortunate there's no different texture options.
But I got it for £20 and still in use all the time, so it's definitely done its job well.
Preordered my copy the other day from The Game Collection.
Had £10 worth of points to use, so £32.95 wasn't too shabby!
Better than when I was trying to get a GC copy back in 2020-21 to build my GC collection, but it was going for absurd prices around £150-200 due to its rarity!
(Those prices have almost halved now after the Switch version announcement! I guess thanks Nintendo for making the game more widely available again)
Tetrisphere! That game was intense with the camera zooming in more and more as the clock ticked down and you tried to free the lil spherical dudes from within! Music went in hard too.
Would love to see Conker as well. The multiplayer modes were awesome!
Don't even have Smash Bros Ultimate xD, but been a KH fan since the first time I saw the original game's trailer back in 2000 on some random video game TV channel in Italy. So this Amiibo a must buy.
Sweet! Never got to play the original SNES game, but really enjoyed Paper Mario 64 & the Mario & Luigi series later, so expect it to be a great fit for me
Got some points to use with The Game Collection to bring it down to £30 (approx $38 for those in the US who may be curious), so a definite purchase for essentially a newcomer.
I got the game a few months after the early access originally released for £18 in a small sale. My expectations were extremely low, but I was shocked that I actually got super into it. (granted I was on bedrest with the top half of my spine fractured, so needed some chill escapism, but with no fast button mashing reactions! xD)
I did drop off for a while the moment the premium store arrived, as I expected microtransactions galore to block progression etc... But been back a handful of times since and the store is very hidden away, seen it in the menu but not even looked at it, and you can just get on with all the quests as normal.
Perhaps the Kingdom Hearts fan in me seeped in a little bit, seeing all the Disney characters together. But honestly think it's a good game! Was relaxing, enjoyed the quests, and kept my mind off my injury... clocking in 100hrs overall to present. Not paid a single microtransaction either. So feel my £18 was totally worth it.
Hopefully Gameloft/Disney stick to that statement in terms of quality and fairness of the game, going forward.
Ultimate troll move from Nintendo for me personally! Me and my mates were waiting ages in hopes to play this for a game night. Tis the only N64 Mario Party game we never played.
We had our "Last" game night on Friday as their wives are all due to have kids in the next week or so... and today Ninty announce this... egregious!
(granted we did play MP Superstars anyway, so we're not burned that badly xD)
I played the demo on the Switch eshop a few weeks back and found it very pleasant. Gameplay was akin to the original Paper Mario's, so right up my street! And it looked great and ran well too on Switch. Definitely on my radar! Grateful there was a demo to try it out, otherwise I feel it would have flown right past me!
I LOVED this game back on PS2! I still remember getting it from GAME alongside Spiderman 2 and Haven: Call of the King as part of 3 for £10 back in the day. (Bet it'll cost more on Switch xD)
I suspect they'll use the HD versions from PS3/360 as base. I'm in!
Oooh! This looks nice! Big fan of this genre with Paper Mario, Bug Fables and even South Park: Stick of Truth, so definitely will give this demo a whirl. Hopefully it's good.
Sorry Batman! Got my preordered Spidey 2 swinging in the following week which will likely have my undivided attention!... Plus my insane existing backlog is already screaming like mad at me 😅
Might pick up the trilogy in a sale down the road.
I see dolphins, my mind immediately jumps to Endless Ocean! xD Bring back that Wii gem!
Would like Feral to port either the Keeley Hawes TR trilogy (Legend/Anniversary/Underworld) or the reboot trilogy... but doubtful it'll happen this far into the Switch's life.... Then again we have Arkham collection coming soon, which everyone expecting to show up like 5 years ago on Switch xD
All my joycons eventually got drift EXCEPT my Skyward Sword ones. They're still going strong after hundreds of hours of use and I just keep my fingers crossed it stays that way.
Ah! The music and titles appearing for Luigi's Mansion 3 and Paper Mario! Those boot up menu animations would have hyped me up more to play them if existed irl.
People saying not to worry about MGSV and that it'll run fine perfectly fine as it was on PS3/360
Me: quickly turns head to give evil eyes to Square Enix who "couldn't" get their PS2, PSP & 3DS Kingdom Hearts games running natively for Switch and used cloud service instead!
😂
30min deep dive of Pikmin 4 5mins of Every 1-2 Switch 4mins of NSO announcements - Pokemon Stadium 2 and Mario Party 3 out now! Oracle games coming in July! 30sec trailer of Mario Kart new wave of tracks. 30sec trailer of Splatoon paid DLC wave 2
110hrs of the game played. Finished the main story, completed 100 shrines and the majority of Lightroots.
A fair amount of side quests I still have left to do (hearing the Gerudo quest with those medicine ball looking things is a bit of a nightmare) and have other things I could do like upgrade my battery further and armour sets more, but decided to take a break for now as a lot of time was dedicated within that month and would like to change it up.
My PS5 & PSVR2 need some love and attention! xD ( + I really want to finally finish FFVII Remake before Rebirth after owning it for years!)
I was expecting it to be 50hrs for me, but it came up as 40hrs or more. It's weird, I feel like I have done a ton of stuff in game, yet equally not a lot as I know there's so much more ahead xD
Amazon Prime UK have it listed for release on the 10th July. If official, that's quite a big gap compared to the US for those who want to check it out.
As a physical collector though, I've got my 4K special edition with the power star shaped case preordered from HMV. Hopefully won't be an even longer wait for the physical.
HMV has a really sweet looking 4K bluray. The disc holder is a power star! (also includes the steelbook as well)
Pricey at £40, but I am mad enough to have pre-ordered it just now! xD
Hopefully this edition will be available in the UK. Quite a few 4K blurays I've had to import from the US recently (good thing 4K blurays are region free!) as not available here. Conveniently got a 7.1.2 setup with Atmos sound on a 120" screen via projector, so if Universal/Illumination do a good transfer, should be good!👍
Just had this silly idea for the Mario movie... What if they have a post credits scene of Link getting magicked into Peach's Castle to see all the Mushroom Kingdom crew, and like Thor in Infinity War with the Guardians, he says "Who the hell are you guys?" xD
I'm one of those people who opted for the physical and patiently waited until Friday. Had the trilogy digitally on WiiU, but at the time wasn't into that genre and barely touched it. But i've recently got more into that genre now and really enjoying this remaster. Got farther In one lengthy sitting on Saturday than I did with the original. Hope Echoes and Corruption get the same treatment.
Sweet! Just 100%ed the game just last week. Have the gold edition, so will be good to jump back in!.... Although my physical copy of Metroid Prime: Remastered should be arriving the following day!
The Game Collection is £49.99
(they did bump it up to £60 just after the Direct, but then brought it back down).
So I preordered there just now at the £50 price point and then used my accumulated points from previous orders to get it for £31.
Honestly cannot complain one bit, getting Tears of the Kingdom for that price!
@Chips07 He later told me he genuinely has no idea if it's legit or not. No rules or NDAs broken there by admitting/confirming literally nothing.
His "😂" emoji was him laughing at the idea that I thought he'd know.
He'll be fine.
After seeing this article, I immediately text my friend who works at Lego head office if he can confirm or deny it's real... He replied "😂"... So make what you will of that! I suspect that response from him means it's fake.
Just checked out the trailer Nintendo of America have dropped on YT for this.
Nice it's in widescreen! (or was that already in the original N64 version too? It's been too long! xD)
Cool to see the online multiplayer. But me and my friends will want to play local, for that 90s nostalgia.
@EarthboundBenjy I am of the exact same mindset too! Would love to fix my original pair and neon green and pink ones too, but feel i'd mess it up more somehow whilst trying to install these in :/
Legitimate question from a friend who loves GC controllers a bit too much xD and now wants these for his Switch: "Do these NYXI Wizard controllers have motion controls so I can play Switch Sports Golf still?" xD
Doesn't appear so, right? There's no mention in the vid, press release and website that I can see.
Just had a quick play. Nice selection of tracks. I like that I never played Tour because it means London Loop and Berlin Byways are totally new to me and so I have zero clue which way turn on first playthrough! xD Merry Mountain is cool, but a very simple track overall and in terms of layout feels too similar to Sky-High Sundae. Aesthetics are nice and Christmassy though.
Is it just me or is the AI more intense in these Booster courses? Their green shell shot accuracy is mental! xD
Not sure why it had to take a near decade but cool to see about the custom items. Should be interesting playing with friends in local multiplayer. Wonder if next wave they will offer a bunch of the outfits etc for various characters from Tour.
Looks interesting. Shame not available in the UK. But not expecting it to be ground breaking. I'm perfectly fine with my Skyward Sword joycons and Skull & Co Neo Grip (very comfy)
Gold was my first. Still remember getting it bundled with the lime green Gameboy Color. I was HOOKED! And the reveal of Kanto being playable ontop of Johto was just mindblowing at the time. Game felt massive!
Let's go! Golf was my favourite Wii Sports game. Fingers crossed it'll be just as fun here. Hopefully it does release worldwide end of Nov as I have a game night with friends on the 1st weekend of Dec and we always pick up Switch Sports. If Nintendo can also drop Wave 3 of MK8D and Goldeneye N64 just before my game night too, then we'll be all set! xD
Played 110hrs of the WiiU version at launch back in 2017 as Switch consoles were so scarce. Completed the story there.
When I finally got a Switch 5 months later and BOTW too, only have clocked in about 15hrs sadly.
Never going to happen, but i'll randomly spout out "Dreamcast and GC games on NSO please!" Also Conker's Bad Fur Day! Maybe it's rose tinted glasses, but the multiplayer in that game was awesome. Heist, Deathmatch and War, top tier. Make a deal with MS, Nintendo! xD
@GoldenSunRM Ahh yes! You're right! Totally forgot I had the N64 app set to NA region only. I was thinking to myself "this runs way better than the WiiU virtual console version I own too".

Re: Poll: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Is Almost Here, So Have You Completed BOTW Yet?
Played 110hrs of the WiiU version at launch back in 2017 as Switch consoles were so scarce. Completed the story there.
When I finally got a Switch 5 months later and BOTW too, only have clocked in about 15hrs sadly.
Re: Mini Review: Alba: A Wildlife Adventure - A Relaxing, Off-Rails Pokémon Snap-Alike
@frankdoylezw haha, thanks for the sales heads up! I already bought it in another sale about 8 months ago xD
Really nice, chill game
Re: Switch Online Now Has Over 36 Million Subs, Nintendo Says It Will Continue To Improve Expansion Pack Tier
Never going to happen, but i'll randomly spout out "Dreamcast and GC games on NSO please!"
Also Conker's Bad Fur Day! Maybe it's rose tinted glasses, but the multiplayer in that game was awesome. Heist, Deathmatch and War, top tier.
Make a deal with MS, Nintendo! xD
Re: It Sounds Like This Voice Actor Won't Be Appearing In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

Re: Switch Sales Have Only Now Surpassed The Xbox One In The UK
Nintendo, just release the Switch Sports Golf update and you'll be flying past the UK PS3 sales numbers!
Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online N64 Library With Two More Games
@GoldenSunRM Ahh yes! You're right! Totally forgot I had the N64 app set to NA region only.
I was thinking to myself "this runs way better than the WiiU virtual console version I own too".
