Aside from the first hour or so, I felt zero joy playing prime 4. Just a slog

Booted it up. Played for like 10 min and was like nope, I’m full. I’ve had more than enough of this game

Insane that it’s not 60fps on switch 2, and that all the Zelda and Splatoon stuff is locked behind amiibo purchases, but I’ll probably check it out a few times

Needs a big 3d Mario, Zelda, smash or animal crossing. I know stuff takes time blah blah but that’s the reality. Can’t just get by on Mario kart and dk. Which are fantastic games imo, but these are not system sellers for people who aren’t already super into Nintendo.

Yea it really shows in the final product. Just finished it today. It has a few high highs and it’s really polished, good visuals etc, but it was just so dull. The number of criticisms is actually so high, I just think it’s a miracle they even got this game shippable.

Only past the first few areas but so far I think like an 8? It’s absolutely stunning aesthetically speaking. And for the most part very polished gameplay wise.

Gotta say though, that desert is a total momentum killer. Really comes across as being shoved in because they couldn’t have this game in development another year or two. I fear it’s going to drag this game down even further later on.

I don’t even mind the npc’s! Thought they would ruin it, but it’s that desert. Psychic stuff feels a little clunky but not too bad.

@RiasGremory k but the npc’s here are definitely way more engaged in the actual gameplay rather than just cutscenes and occasional pop ins or whatever. I could see like, the robot guy dying maybe

Sorry but what we have on offering here is so wack. The yoshi game is easily the best thing - it was one of three total switch 2 games announced.

I want to see more brand new first party games than remasters or switch 2 editions. Hopefully see at least 2-3 big heavy hitters for 2026.

Yea I’m not totally sold yet. Other than the fact that sakurai doesn’t put out bad games, so I’m sure it’s pretty good. Just seems like a very small experience that I would get bored with after a weekend

Im gonna have to do a 10 here. I have some critiques sure, but pretty much zero complaints. this is one of those very special once in a while Nintendo games. If all I can think about is “when can I jump back on the game”, it’s really working for me. I didn’t know if they would ever bring DK back in any significant way (never been crazy on the Returns games), but they pulled it off here. It’s everything and more

I honestly am more than ok with this. Mario odyssey was so huge in what it did, I think that 3d Mario needs a breather. As a dk fan I’m biased here, but I like that he is taking up the spot and being elevated to this level.

As I had hoped, they absolutely cooked here. This is exactly what this game needed to be. A fully fledged 3d platformer completely stuffed with gameplay ideas. Mario kart is great and all, but this is the true showcase of what the switch 2 is capable of. Can’t wait, this game looks incredible

@batmanbud2 I did. It’s fine. I personally don’t love the returns games as much as everyone else.

Can’t wait. First time I’ve been hyped for dk since 1999. Presumably this is the first switch 2 game developed for the hardware from the start
