Re: Nintendo Switch Sports Ad Tees Up Golf For November Release Date

@gcunit hmm from what I know she says is “o, suna da” then “suna desu na” meaning “oh, (it’s) sand” then “it’s sand I guess” respectively.

But what you said works too lol because you can use this as a mnemonic for remembering what “suna” means in Japanese. Ie Suna (of a) beach, because there’s sand, at a beach.

@Dragmire true, that’s a weird scenario right? Translating a game into 6 languages, including ENGLISH and then not releasing it in the US till later…… yeah I wonder what the modus operandi of these companies are.

However, going forward, they could just release the UK version at the same timeframe as the US/Canada, as we are now out of the EU. However, I don’t think companies see it that way, and only divide by region more so than say language.

I guess because then you have to take into account French speakers in Canada and Spanish in the US etc, it’s probably a logistical nightmare to say the least.

Well we know that RPG’s do really well in Japan, FPS in US and maybe a bit of both in the EU? Dunno really

Re: Physical Switch Copies Of Bayonetta Are Returning To My Nintendo Store Later This Year

@SilentHunter382 yeah I agree, it’s not 🚀 science to set up preorders to meet demand and then like, I dunno, SELL THEM…. Sigh.

I’d sent recently Nintendo a looong email going over these things and the whole XBC 3 utter nonsense. Not a scathing email nor a diatribe but conveying my honest thoughts, whilst still seeming amiable.

Tho I did throw a few jabs here and there, hinting at their sheer incompetence, inadequacy and faulty business acumen, (sugar coating it here and there to avoid them putting their defences up too quickly), especially when other companies seems to accomplish the same, rudimentary tasks, just fine. Also, the fact that they’re potentially losing out on money too, both the initial potential sales and the reselling by the scalpers.

I looked online for reference, on EBay I saw the XBC 3 CE go from £130 to 150+ and for something that initially cost £30, that is a huge markup and when that money could have been spent on other Nintendo products potentially, I think they should take it more seriously if they do a business loss forecast, because I’d imagine it a fair bit….. but I digress.

Mainly the reason the email was composed is because, after their shop update, I can’t login to my account and hence I can’t order anything. I only managed to get Sparks of Hope via a guest account….

….In hindsight, I maybe shouldn’t have done that because of the practices of Ubisoft that I’d recently read and researched in more depth and was shocked mainly and hmm also disappointed, that Ives was STILL head of the company, spite everything that went down and it probably still does…. (Arlo did a vid on it, hence why I looked into it to more) I’m torn because I want to support the games that use Nintendo characters more and diversify the franchises)

However, I don’t know whether my pokemon and FE orders that I made before the update will be sent out to me…. I pray 🙏 to God that they will….

Also, even tho I’d registered my interest in XBC3, you HAVE to have an account to even TRY to order it. So I was out of luck/favor on several fronts to say least. Another HUGE oversight is that you cannot change ur bank details on already ordered items..

So, I had preordered the Metroid DREAD special edition last year but I had to change my bank information on the order and so I went to the Nintendo website to update there, Sotho the money would not bounce….. but noOOOOooo. I even contacted them and they basically just said “tough luck” by saying to “please try to order it again”, knowing full well that it was sold out and will not be back in stock…. The cheek of it really and plain denial of responsibility because their online infrastructure is ****.

I may sound like I’m whining and complaining, which I don’t think that I am, (but maybe to a degree) as I’m just stating fact, but when all these things are from the same source, multiple people having the same/similar problems, little to no improvement, no communication on the matter and also for the same problems to perpetuate…. It’s no wonder that others feel upset, let down, angry and some individuals just plain quit dealing with a company….. sigh.

Is to too much to ask for them to improve, even if it’s little by little, at least show us a sign Nintendo! Tell us what your positions, thoughts and intents on the matter, really, plus are you working behind the scenes to address our collective worries, not just some placative platitudes that sometimes do more harm than any good because it’s the same old drivel that we hear on a frequent basis…… I hope 🤞 and pray 🙏 so but I’m not holding my breathe, as I cant hold it for long lol.

If you read this far, you get an internet cookie! Hooray!

TLDR Nintendo get ur **** sorted and ur ****-y website too.

@Dragmire I mean, that’s true but it isn’t the point imo.

People having to import because they can’t buy a copy in their own country, even tho it is technically available, is really annoying and often more expensive (nevermind the scalping practices these days).

It’s different to say, importing because it’s NOT locally available, then I mean, I have no qualms with even if I have to pay a little extra.

My art books and game OST CD’s are like my other fav things to have and because Amazon JP ship worldwide, it’s actually sometimes cheaper or at least the same price with some items surprisingly, even with added shipping fees.

Re: A Closer Look At The Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Statue From Nintendo Live 2022

5t3v3n

@Antendo64 yeah same. , there’s gotta be Link, Zelda, maybe that bull (like for Zelda to carry materials and/or supplies, cuz I really want to craft weapons in this game, as I don’t think the gems got enough usage), if it’s more integral to the story that is and maybe then a few enemies. Who knows?

Regardless, yeah def…. Gotta buy-em all! Zelda-mon! Hmm we never see Zelda’s mom do we…. I’d like her to be used in a future Zelda, that would be cool. Like how Zelda lost her etc.

More of, “The Lore of Zelda” please Aonuma-san.

@MH4 I’m sure after reusing it for a few more times at whatever game show that has Zelda at, it’ll go nicely in a corner somewhere at Nintendo’s headquarters. Like near a reception desk, or in Aonuma’s office for example…. @Ryu_Niiyama same but I can’t even imagine how much this statue costs if the “small” f4f ones are hundreds…. So maybe thousands or tens of thousands for this one? …Shudders

Re: Video: 13 Things You Can Do in Zelda: Breath of the Wild that You Might Not Know About

5t3v3n

@Sakura excellent point on both fronts; point and click is one of my fav genres, and I don't know how they'll top this either... I think this is the reason that the devs (Aonuma and co) decided to make dlc. They said that they had created this huge expansive world, so why don't they add more to it rather than starting on a new game. Personally, I'm all for them to elongate the playability and enjoyment in this game by adding as much dlc as they like, whilst still thinking about the next one... glad it's not my job, no wait, I'd love his job!

Re: Random: Infamous British Tabloid Takes 1-2-Switch a Bit Too Seriously

As people have mentioned, it's a toss-up (lol) between CNET's inability to distinguish between a design flaw and an intuitive feature, and The Sun's critique to a suggestive milking game, yet they neglected to mention the 'feeling' and counting of 'balls' game or the 'shooting' from the 'hip' games amongst others... if you're gonna do it, then do it properly; reductio ad absurdum. But no, their need for the most titulating gossip/faux news, just to incite people and to illicit a response is sad, it really is... sigh.

Re: Music: Nintendo Tunes Played On Japanese Instruments Sound As Cool As You'd Expect

@Billsama hmm true, but those temples would probably deem it sacrilege to play in and around the grounds, I'd hazard a guess but I don't know. Well, you say 'original tradition' but for all we know, like a study on the connections of the Hebrews to the Chinese, they've been biblical immigrants all this time.

Also I'm sure that Buddhism is actually considered foreign, cuz it's from India but it's from like 2,500 ages ago, whereas as the Shinto religion might be younger, but is considered integral to the Japanese people, so again, it's where do you draw the line? Length vs depth?

Re: EA Reconfirms That A "Major Game" Is In Development For Nintendo Switch

5t3v3n

@HappyMaskedGuy you know, I'd be trying to urge you to sound less negative and cynical but because you're absolutely right, I can't really say anything. It's sad that some companies treat their relationships like pubescent high school love dramas, instead of faithful life-long partnerships... well, at least the length of a console generation please, ho hum.

Re: Music: Nintendo Tunes Played On Japanese Instruments Sound As Cool As You'd Expect

5t3v3n

@Billsama well funnily enough, the triforce, in my post up above, even though it was visually based off of the hojo ninja clans emblem, it's actually meaning Nintendo changed to mean three Gods in one, tri-force, borrowed from Christianity's father, son and Holy Spirit. And the so called 'magic book' was renamed in the orignal Zelda from 'holy bible' because it was deemed too 'religious'. So really the games' ethos and history is based off of Christ/link saving his bride/Zelda from the clutches of darkness/Ganon; the same staple for most rpg's and adventure games...

Re: Music: Nintendo Tunes Played On Japanese Instruments Sound As Cool As You'd Expect

5t3v3n

@Ryu_Niiyama argh, I corrected myself after thinking it could be spelt differently for two and brother (nii-chan, nii-san etc) but you got the reply before I could change it, so my sincere apologies or rather, gomenasai honto ni... oneesama. The readings they have for different kanji is really confusing at times, not just because of the context but because of the vast content they can apply to... noga, furureru!
Another (not so) fun fact for you, is that the triforce is also the start of a sierpinksi triangle, and can be found by process of elimination inside Pascal's triangle! Yay!

Re: Music: Nintendo Tunes Played On Japanese Instruments Sound As Cool As You'd Expect

5t3v3n

@Ryu_Niiyama yeah I like the shamisen as well, I like the lady on the shamisen even moar, she is so beautiful <3. Also shamisen means three strings, so your Perfume/triforce of lorule gif, seems fitting to say the least. Plus, the original actually represents 'three dragon scales' of the Hojo ninja clans emblem, so your name 'Ryu' fits on another level as well, oh and try the 'Yoshida Brothers' if you like shamisens

Re: Official Nintendo UK Store Offers 'Choose Your Gift' Super Mario Maker for 3DS Pre-Orders

5t3v3n

@Anti-Matter haha nice. You hyped for season 3?

On topic: I'm sorry, but the best part of Mario maker, is the sharing aspect. No-one's gonna bother making kaizo levels for this if ya can't make, share and laugh one's head off at people trying to play the your level... badly . Watching people playing levels online is great fun so I hope they release an update... soon, and then I'll definitely make a purchase. Hope they add cross sharing between 3ds and WiiU as well.
