Another THQ Nordic game could be on the way to Nintendo Switch in the near future. As highlighted by GoNintendo, the open-world action role-playing game Biomutant has surfaced on Portuguese retailer Gaming Replay.
The listing suggests it'll be arriving this year on October 25th. There's even a placeholder box art:
Interestingly, this isn't the first time Biomutant has been mentioned for the Nintendo Switch. Back in 2019, prior to its original release, it was mentioned alongside a Darksiders II Switch listing.
Biomutant runs on Unreal Engine 4 and was released on PC, X1 and PS4 last year, and is due out this month on XSX and PS5. Here's a bit about it (via Xbox), along with a trailer:
BIOMUTANT® is an open-world, post-apocalyptic Wung-Fu fable RPG, with unique martial art styled combat system allowing you to mix melee, shooting and mutant ability action.

I WAS excited for this before, but everyone said it was a chore to play and quickly gets repetitive.
Game was not what everyone was expecting.
Don't get me started on the "narrarator".
Uh, no thank you. Honestly feel like I got ripped off when I bought it at launch, the gameplay was really wonky and got repetitive fast. The only redeeming factor for me was that it looked really good, so on switch it's most likely gonna have 0 redeeming factors for me. Really unfortunate as the world and characters are really intriguing and well designed
Dude ai never even took another glance at that game after one screenshot, nice to know I made the right move.
Played it for about 7 hours and have not gone back. Maybe it would be better as a handheld time-waster. Interested to see if they can get a solid frame-rate.
Started out okay, but quickly became boring and very repetitive. Didn't even bother with the sidequests and stuff.
The narrator is bad to the point where it feels like they're insulting your intelligence >.<
It’s a decent game that would be good on Switch, shouldn’t be full price though
Meh, game had potential but got boring quick. Would if been amazing if it was multiplayer
Naaah, this is not a good game. The storzy seemed interesting, but gameplay was wonky and just not good. Didn't even wait for it to become boring/repetitive and refunded after an hour when I played this on steam.
The question is: Why?
I thought this game was average at best, which is a shame because there's definitely potential. Sadly a Switch release won't convince me to give it another try.
@Pat_trick same here. sometimes they just do efforts that noone ever demanded.
Good the Switch may be getting another third party game, but not sure this one is any good.
Definitely one of the games that ruined itself being Open World for Open World's sake. Probably would have been better if was more like Fable where it was free exploration of smaller areas with more structured enemy encounters and exploration.
Never played it but always wanted to, as a switch only gamer I'd probably pick it up and give it a go.
Always gave me enslaved odyssey vibes
It would nice for giving it a second chance to shine. If it comes completely patched and polished, I'll likely get it!
@Pat_trick If this time the game releases polished, the question is: why not?
Wow, thanks for the comment section! This game looks so creative and beautiful, but--if the gameplay stinks, then why?
@the_beaver Unfortunately this is not the case of polish in my opinion. The game is way too superficial and repetitive to be interesting.
No amount of bug fixing and performance improvement is going to transform this into a good game.
Quite liked this on PS4. It can look stunning one minute and awful the next. It is fun to craft the weapons and armour but the repetition will bore you before completion. Also, an open world game using UE4 on Switch will probably be a bit blurry.
Narrator imitation like the producers went, "Hey bro, remember that end Bastion game or whatever had narration, let's do that bro"
Also, all these third-party rumors is giving me Partner Showcase vibes... Hmmm that's a bad sign for the September Direct actually being more of a Mini.
I guess I’m one of the only people who actually likes the game. It’s far from perfect, but it’s got a lot of charm and personality. If rumors be true then this’ll probably show up in the (maybe) September Direct.
