October is shaping up to be a busy month for the Nintendo Switch with the release of multiple titles including the Atlus game Persona 5 Royal. Atlus will also be hosting a concert for the series next month, featuring various performances.
It's got some fans wondering about the possibility of a new game announcement, but it seems not. Atlus has now issued a message mentioning how there are "no plans" for announcements at this upcoming event. Here's the statement from Atlus in full:
"There are no plans for announcements of new game titles at this concert. We are hard at work to prepare the best live performance to satisfy all those who will come and watch the show. Please look forward to it."
The most recent mainline entry in the Persona series is the fifth game, released back in 2016 and followed by the enhanced version Royal, released in 2019. Switch fans can look forward to the arrival of this version next month on 21st October. A special edition is also on offer, and pre-orders are now available.
Persona 3 and Persona 4 will also receive a Nintendo Switch next year. The "Persona Super Live P-Sound Wish 2022: Crossing Journey" concert performances will air on 8th October and 9th October.
There's also one project left to reveal as part of Persona's 25th-anniversary celebrations and it's scheduled for Autumn 2022.
Do you think it's about time Atlus reveals the next mainline entry in the Persona series? What do you think the final reveal will be? Comment down below.

If they're not revealing any new games at the concert, then it's most likely Persona 6 isn't being revealed this year at all.
That's honestly fine to be honest imo. We're getting Persona 5 Royal on Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox consoles and PS5 next month. And P4G and P3P for Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox consoles, PS4, and PS5 at a later time.
So we're kinda packed already with Atlus games.
And ofc the other consoles (except Switch) and PC got Soul Hackers 2.
Persona 5 Royal, was announced at a previous Super Live event. So have we reached the end of Persona announcement or we will have "one more thing" in Autumn? Hope Persona 6 is around the corner even if its just on Playstation for now
@anoyonmus Eh. The ports are only really exciting if you didn't play the other games before. If you played them, then there's just nothing happening for a couple of years I guess.
I'm definitely looking forward to Persona 6 but I'm good with the Switch ports for now. Already played through Royal twice (and vanilla one and a half times) but still can't wait to have it handheld.
At some stage they need to release Soul Hackers 2 on Switch if they want to give it any chance of success.
Not surprised. With the ports of 3, 4, and 5 on the way, they have plenty coming out. I bet 6 will come about a year out from the release of those. It seems like they’re trying to reintroduce people to the series.
@anoyonmus they are only ports and remakes though xD I guess some people wanted more than Persona 5 for the 3rd time
I'm fine for now with Persona 5 Royal physical for Switch on pre-order. Soul Hackers 2 for PS5. And Persona 3 & 4 (hopefully physical) coming next year!
@Fulgor_Astral Yeah. For me, I'm just starting to get tired of Persona 5's whole "Steal your heart" thing. It was fun when I was playing through the game originally, but then I started playing Strikers, and something about it just tired me out and wished they'd do something new. I guess it's because Strikers was pretty much a repetitive retelling of the original game.
Apparently "Persona 3 and Persona 4 will also receive a Nintendo Switch next year." Wonder what they'll play on it.
I'm going to guess Persona 6 gets announced at an October Playstation Showcase. There seems to be plenty of hints of a Playstation Showcase possibly happening like FF16 getting a new trailer in October, PSVR2 launching in Early 2023 but no release date yet, GoW Ragnarok hasn't had its big blowout of info, PC ports without release dates, etc. and Persona 6 would fit given the franchise's Playstation origins.
When Atlus announced its year of Persona events, is there anyone who didn’t think the final one would be the announcement of Persona 6? Still on course.
If they announced Persona 6 at the concert, what would they have saved for the final reveal?
Plans or no plans for announcements, when will we be getting a new Trauma Center game? I understand that Shin Megami Tensei and Persona are both beloved series in Atlus's repertoire, but they're not the only game series they make.
Trauma Center is my personal favorite Atlus game series, so I would love to see a new one come out soon. And there should be no reason not to. After all, the Joy-Cons on the Switch can basically function like the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, which was used to great effect in Second Opinion, New Blood, and Trauma Team.
And this one could be a continuation of Derek Stiles' and Angie Thompson's story, where we see their relationship develop further, to the point of them getting married in the end. Plus, they could finally do what I've always wanted to see them do and have full motion video anime cutscenes, voiced by their voice actors from the previous games, especially Yuri Lowenthal and Wendee Lee.
I get being excited for Persona 6, but Nintendo fans JUST got mainline Persona games. Announced...not even released yet. Y'all gotta temper your expectations a bit. Hate to blindly speculate here, but I'm sure Sony is gonna lock down a timed exclusive with P6. Let's hope not when the news finally drops for a new Persona.
I wonder if persona 6 will be multiplatformor if sony will pay for temporal exclusivity.
Announce a new Trauma Centre & Catherine you cowards! Just kidding, much love Atlus... but please?
... Wun can only hope.
Good writing in all aspects takes a LONG time.
Hopefully, whenever they do reveal Persona 6, they will do a better job than they did with Persona 5. A whole day of counting down with special announcements sprinkled in and then the only thing we see of the game was some chairs and some words. That was super disappointing.
