Ever since the announcement of the upcoming 3DS / Wii U eShop closure, gamers have been clamouring for sales left, right, and centre, eager to grab some last-minute deals to bolster their game libraries.
RPG games for the 3DS in particular have become highly sought after, and while this latest sale doesn't include the likes of Shin Megami Tensei IV or its direct sequel, we've got a small selection of absolute diamonds from publisher NIS America that have been slashed in price until May 8th, 2022.
Here's a full list of the games included in the sale:
Game | Discount | Price |
---|---|---|
Culdcept Revolt | -87% | |
Stella Glow | -75% | |
RPG Maker Fes | -87% | |
Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth | -75% | |
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker | -75% | |

SEGA doesn't publish Atlas games in Europe?
So NIS America is the Etrian Odyssey publisher in Europe, but Atlus is the publisher for Etrian Odyssey in America?
@AlphaElite partly
NIS EUROPE (yes Nintendo Life) was publishing Atlus games in the past in EU, but when Sega bought Atlus they took that away from NIS EU and let Deep Silver do it.
A terrible idea, Deep Silver never bothered with limited or collector editions and their Atlus 3DS runs were small and difficult to get, while when NIS EU did it we got collector editions and the games got bigger, easier to get runs.
@Deltarogue they never did, they dumped most of the Atlus games (big titles aside like Persona) to Deep Silver (and their physicals have always had terribly small runs)
With the store closing for good I would of had a 90% off everything, heck why not just make everything £1, what's to lose
@UltimateOtaku91 I'm hoping they'll do a huge sale within the final months in the eShop where everything is 90% off. Doubt it though.
I do think Nintendo put a limit on how low games could be sold for because awhile ago people would heavily discount their games to climb the charts in the eShop. I think you can't list a game for less than $1.99 in the U.S.
Do yourself a favor and get Stella Glow if you enjoy turn-based SRPGs. One of my all time favorites.
I'll prolly go for Culdcept myself, it's something that always seemed interesting.
I'm glad they brought these sales back. They used to occur every two months or so throughout the last couple of years. It's a bit smaller selection this time. They used to have pretty much every SMT and EO on sale at the same time except for EOV for whatever reason. I'm still missing that one.
@moodycat I personally really enjoyed Culdcept Revolt. I don't think it's for everyone but if you're ready for some deckbuilding and more interesting game of Monopoly (or Fortune/Boom Street) with pretty good AI opponents, then go for it. Its story mode should keep you busy for a while.
hmm sadly no etrian 5 or nexus... the ones in sale I have already
I already have all the ones I want. Some great gaming to be had on there. (5 games)
Currently knee deep in EO V, but I played and have them all except for Nexus. Usually I'm all for physical, but I no longer collect, and at these prices, I might get them digital and sell my physical ones as they're going up. Ridiculously so. Hopefully before closing of the eshop, Nexus (and every game on the eshop) will see insane discounts. just for that final sale.
Even if you don't have a 3ds yet, this sale alone is worth getting one for, I'd argue.
RE: That hefty data need - There are instructions online that let you format SD cards bigger than 32 gigs so they will work on your 3DS. So if you've moved your switch up from an old 64 or 128 gig card, format it, pop it in your 3DS, and you will have more storage than you will ever need.
Why oh why couldn’t they discount the first SMT Devil Survivor game! Lots of these games had a fresh print run physically in recent months so can still be had at retail (not as cheap as these of course), but not the first Devil Survivor game. I would have jumped at that for £5!
I was eyeing Stella Glow the other day. Well now I got it.
Persona Q2? Dammit!
@GravyThief I didn't know the first Devil Survivor game is on the euro eshop, it's not on the Aussie eshop to my absolute disgust.
@UltimateOtaku91 They still have what..8 or 9 months to push sales until then? Keep doing slow trickle of sales for the panic shoppers (or those with too strong of morale compass to play them the logical way) to maximize bleeding every cent they can is how they'll do it.
Those Etrian Odyssey prices are really tempting, though I want to buy those in physical form. I could buy them digital just to feel like I've paid the devs as directly as possible for them...
I have nearly all of these already so I'm good. This is nice for people who don't have them and may be interested in them though.
@WCB yeah it’s on for £30. The UK physical game goes for £100+ these days, so £30 is good value I suppose, I just can’t bring myself to spend that much on a digital game that might go away in the near future through no fault of my own. I think I’d rather take the hit on the physical game, at least I’d be guaranteed to be able to still play it 10+ years in the future and I’d be able to sell it if I wanted to.
@GravyThief I don't know why it isn't on the aussie eshop then, there is only a patch which I've downloaded just in case I ever strike it lucky with a physical copy lol.
Man, that depresses me. 😒
@BlackenedHalo 2023 is still a while away, and they make no money on rising physical prices or closed stores, so I'm quite sure we'll get this and more sales again. I'm waiting for EO Nexus.
Oh by the way, RE Mercenaries 3d is 99 cents now, and an excellent mindless co-op action shooter I spent over 180 hours in, everyone who enjoys RE 4 gameplay should get that! In fact, I'm going to play some of it now, in between EO V sessions.
Culdcept Revolt and RPG maker Fes are the only 2 on sale in the US. I was really hoping for Persona Q.
@Tourtus Actually I am pretty sure their is no minimal price for the 3DS. I seen games go for less than $1.99 CAD.
