While Nintendo of America has been leaning into celebrity appearances in recent commercials promoting the Switch, in Japan the focus is a bit less glitzy. Like in previous years adverts for the Japanese market are emphasizing multiplayer fun with family and friends, with quite charming results.
Featured games include the likes of Ring Fit Adventure, Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics, Mario Party Superstars, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain. There are parents and grandparents playing with kids, and of course friends bantering and playing online.
There's a nice relaxed vibe to the trailers, evidently aiming to capture a laidback Holidays / end-of-year atmosphere. It's notable that the models shown are all standard and Lite units, too - that could be down to when these commercials were filmed, or potentially a deliberate decision due to the company struggling to maintain stock and meet demand for the OLED in Japan.
We certainly like these adverts, but let us know what you think in the comments.

Lovely commercials.
I think the Switch's success is in large part due to the excellent promo work, a far cry from the cringe in the wiiu days
Great commercials, switch has some of the best ads ever as well as the best games ever, cannot wait for the holidays to come.
Absolutely great commercials. When I compare these with other gaming console commercials, it is so clear that I am a Nintendo fan.
Those last 2 videos really highlight how bad the voice chat situation is, with them having their phone off to the side (wasting its battery) just to communicate.
Rookie mistake using joycons for Smash when your friend is using a pro controller. 😉
Great commercials!
That Ring Fit Adventure ad was highly unrealistic. Ain't no one allowed to be in the room with me when I'm playing that game. I'm a hot sweaty mess by the end.
