Arietta of Spirits popped up on our radar during the recent Summer Game Fest / E3 week, with the game featuring in Day Two of the Guerrilla Collective Showcase. It now has its Switch eShop release details - a demo is due to arrive today (13th August), with the full game releasing on 20th August priced at €19,99 / $19.99 / £17.99; pre-orders up to 19th August will have a 10% discount.
With a top-down view and some nice chunky pixels, it's an adventure title that promises plenty of exploration and storytelling; you can see some of its official pitch below.
- Explore a mysterious island with lush forests, murky caverns and dark secrets
- Beautiful retro-styled pixel graphics and inspiring original soundtrack
- Meet fascinating characters and discover the deep lore
- Fight a wide range of enemies in reaction based combat
- Easy to approach game mechanics, suitable for everyone
Red Art Games is also selling physical copies on its own store here, though they're currently listed for distribution in Q4 this year - there's a standard edition at €34,99 and a collector's 'Red Edition' for €59,99. That Red Edition includes a soundtrack, steelbook and poster, as you can see below.
Let us know if you're planning to give the Arietta of Spirits demo a try over the weekend!

Super excited to try the demo later today.
I love these type of games with this art-style. Moonlighter was solid too.
Huh, the article didn’t make any reference to the word Zelda, good job!!
Nice collector's edition, I didn't know about this game. But this surely looks cool.
Just finished the demo, it’s really good! Definitely gonna get in on the preorder now, I think it’s gonna be a great game.
Just downloaded the demo, looking forward to seeing what this is like... 🙂
Update: played the demo and loved it, intrigued to see more...
Key art and cover are so bland, uninspired, boring, and just devoid of any style and excitement… it’s a shame because in-game it looks lovely and unless the game blows up on Twitch/Discord etc (doubt so) that is gonna fail attracting folks who don’t know about the game…
Is there a place to order the physical to be delivered stateside?
@BloodNinja ......Ninja Approved?
@Yeaitslenn
Oh, they deliver stateside! Just be prepared to wait 6-7 months with (little to) no word (French site/company, I believe) and then, BAM! Heeeeeere’s Johnny! I recently received my copy of Hardcore Mecha—after the wait and increased pricing (I feel like I payed close to $70 US), this game would have to be at least “an 8” for me to begin considering this option again.
