It's disappointing Shantae didn't get released this week in the UK since it's out in the US.
Interested to see the review for Bug Fables so might pick that up if it's any good. Otherwise where has Bioshock gone?
Edit: OK good it has been added now. Will wait to see how the port is and assuming all is well that is a must buy for me.
Xenoblade and XCOM for me. Expensive week!
@Ooccoo_Jr Yes... where has Bioshock gone? I hope this is an oversight by Nintendo Life and not another last minute delay like with Episode 1 Racer
Was really looking forward to Bioshock, but the lack of game play footage and review codes only being sent out this week, does not bode well. I really hope it is a good port, but I think 2K are hiding something.
Bioshock is missing?
I'm curious on how all these 2K ports are on Switch.
@617Sqn I would wait until Digital Foundry compares atleast Bioshock and Borderlands.
LA Noire did atleast get great improvement patches after release on Switch.
F117-A Stealth Fighter? That looks like the Amiga game of the same name. Should be fun without a keyboard...
Press release: Borderlands and XCOM2 tomorrow!
"Coming Soon" section:
And then even the press release omits Bioshock which at least the browser eShop has got the memo on by now.
It's getting a bit surreal, honestly.😵😆 Thankfully it should be over in a matter of hours... too bad there are also decent odds of both collections going up in the afternoon and me not getting to start their respective first parts (read: a total of roughly 20 Gb on Belarusian 4G) until Saturday afternoon at best. Oh well, in Melia we trust.
@617Sqn users who got physical copies early are already uploading gameplay footage on YouTube - Bioshock and Borderlands alike. Looks pretty great from where I stand.
EDIT: make the aforesaid total almost 30 Gb - over on US eShop, Borderlands GOTY size just grew from 6 Gb to almost 14. First The Outer Worlds, then Bioshock, now this... but seriously, eShop folks, you updated this game's page with the size data two days ago and on the brink of release - how did THAT require a last minute correction?😕
Xenoblade on its way tomorrow, I will pick up Bioshock and Borderlands too but I'll hold off for now, Xenoblade will take a while.
Going to get Xenoblade but probable next month as too many bills this month.
FYI I got "EQQO" for free on the eshop today as an offer for anyone who bought the game Lydia.
Bioshock now added, just a mistake!
No downloads for me, but I am getting Xenoblade tomorrow all being well with the post. I'm so excited for a new RPG to play!
@antdickens Cool thanks, looking forward to your review!
Is Resident Evil 4 worth a punt? Not sure what to do.
My physical copies of Borderlands and BioShock have been dispatched so it’s definitely out this week.
Going to get XCOM2 eventually if it runs well enough, but not right now, so much backlog to conquer.
Not sure about looking forwards to 2k ports. Civ 6 port is still not fixed after last season pass and I didn't receive any response about it.
@xxMPJxx RE4 is a fantastic game, but if you loved playing this with Wiimote Control on the Wii, you will be disappointed it has no Giro Aiming. I personally struggled to play it again only using Dual Analogue
@ViewtifulJotun huh, I don't have Lydia yet, and Deku Deals already mailed me about it and EQQO going on sale until June 26... but checking console eShop now, EQQO shows up at 100% discount for me until tomorrow (no word on "26.06", even) as well. No footnotes either - oftentimes it is indeed the "own x, get y" type (often with a looooong list of titles 😆) that you can only monitor from your own account, but this case only has the sale expiry phrase.
Oh well, don't mind if I do...
EDIT: and ditto with Lydia. Huh indeed. Sure, they've got separately priced "donation" purchases listed as additional content for both games now, but those look to be standard and permanent - so what is this day-long giveaway about? Children's Day proximity or something?
Would love to give Bug Fables a go, but with Xenoblade Chronicles DE arriving tomorrow, I'm going to be neck deep in awesomeness for some considerable time.
I'm confused, no Wii U sales this week?
@Bucket exactly my thought. It really reminds me of the Amiga game. I think I had it for the C64 also. Called Stealth then. Doesn't look like much upgraded graphics either. Strange...
@nhSnork the deal appeared in my news feed, but even when I went on the publisher's site I couldn't find any details. I've got Lydia and now EQQO, not sure if any other games are included.
@ViewtifulJotun Just saw Soul Searching at 100% while browsing the deals section, too. Looks like that makes all three Nakana.io releases available here to date. All stamped May 30. But it's indeed weird that their website mentions nothing yet.
These sudden giveaways, 2K games ninjaing their way to launch as best they can, Indivisible's accidental false start... this has been a weird month for eShop overall, I daresay at this point.😅
@Gerald I used to play it on Wii using the SNES pad. Six buttons and a D pad is all you need for Resi 4. Pointer controls are all well and good, but complicate simplicity too much sometimes.
Fly punch boom is a joy. Such a little fun game to play with friends... and done by one man only. Is it's first game
Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling
Minecraft dungeons
Xenoblade
Sega ages thunderforce for me this week
@617Sqn there are already some videos on YouTube with the gameplay.
These are mostly from gamers in NZ and Australia that already got the game.
From what I saw the games are running good and look good as well.
Crazy busy week for releases. Only going with Xenoblade for now, but will pick up a few, if not all, the new 2K games in the future. It’s just way too much cash to drop in one week.
Borderlands and BioShock.
Are they both of physical?
borland are 3 games on One buy or two different games?
@Razer yes. I have booked them both as physical. A whole lot of download anyway, though.
@FargusPelagius wow, can’t say I tried that, might be worth a giggle. I have SNES pad for my Wii, will let you know how I find it.
I have to say Pointer Controls made the game so much better (IMO), I just can’t go back, Giro would have been a good substitute, that had been included on other RE games, so why not RE4 ? Capcom suffer from a bone disease
Is that F-117A game some kind of Amiga or DOS port?
Can't see any of the 2K games on e-shop here in Sweden. Is pre-order available anywhere else in Europe?
@Gerald yeah I have played the game more times than I would like to admit. Pointer controls made it far too easy for me, except you need to use a stick (or d pad) to aim the sniper, so it's actually counter intuitive to the game design. I used a SNES pad but it is surprising how well it holds up. When you "know" Leon's tremble well, you wrack up those head and crucial knockdown shots nearly as regularly as pointer.
Also for a challenge, use only the starting case. This forces you to decide between healing items and grenades/ammo.
What a week! Bioshock, Borderland, XCOM, Xenoblade, Minecraft Dungeon, Bug Fable,... Arguably the best week of the year so far.
Anyone willing to be a guinea pig and let the rest of us know if BioShock has gyro aiming and an option to invert the right analogue stick? 😉
Xenoblade and XCOM 2. Xenoblade is already preloaded in case of physical delays and the 2K Collections aren't even on the eshop yet so can't preload XCOM 2 (digital only for that game).
There are definitely some game (collections) that are going on the watch- and wishlist. But I just ordered Witcher 3, Vampyr, Viktor Vran, and Ni No Kuni from my wishlist, all at a much better price than the new asking price, all physical. So I guess I'm set for quite a while until a decent sale, and maybe even avoid the disappointment of a physical release announced after purchasing a game digitally, and wait for a sale on that.
Funny to see myself writing this, I used to pre-order collector's editions of games I didn't 100% want to play even... I'm glad that's in the past.
@Razer as said, physical releases are available, but that's "physical" with a lot of air-quoting, asterixes (or whatever the plural is), and almost at the bottom of a very salty sea...
@RebeccaEdv I decided to give it a try. It's a horrifically simplified version of that game. The speech has that muffled effect 8 bit games had, and the graphics are very C64-ish.
Best of all, the game stutters when you get into combat, it's slow at the best of times and the on-screen button prompts are wrong. Great game!
@Bucket I love that you gave it a try! ❤ Very brave of you! Now we know. Not only is it a game from yore, it is a bad port at that. Thank you!
@hitscan85 I played it. It seems to be a C64 port! I recommend avoiding it.
@RebeccaEdv I'd say "my pleasure", but it really wasn't. Still not the worst game I've played on the Switch.
@Razer I think so but they also need huge downloads as well apparently.
Need to resist XCOM2 until I finish Divinity 2 which I think will take me a couple of years the pace I’m moving at (my character has been locked in a basement for a week).
Xenoblade is in the post and bought Thunderforce AC. Still need to see the rest of the list...hot dawg is that a non-mobile flightsim?! May give F-117 a go. Sure probably an old port but at just over £2 may be worth a bash. Sigh I still await for an Ace Combat game on the Switch; but I waited for years for one on the Vita and nothing appeared so hopes are low.
@antdickens hey dude! Might be worth updating the article to mention there are a plethora of options to consider for both Bioshock & Borderlands - In addition to the 3 game collections mentioned above, all three Bioshock games are available right now to buy separately. As for Borderlands, you can buy the first game separately or the Handsome collection comprising of the later 2 sequels. Bit of a surprise eh?! This is on the EU / UK store right now.
@sikthvash thanks, I've added a note above!
@Bucket Thank you for testing it out and sorry about the games quality .
It could also be a NES Port.
@hitscan85 that's a good point. Although playing this with a NES pad would be even worse.
