Are There Any Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp Special Editions On Switch?
Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp isn't being treated to any special edition or limited edition releases at retail, so picking up a standard physical copy of the game is as good as it gets for collectors and fans of physical media. But hey, at least that saves us all a few pennies!

I had better see some square nuts in this game or else I’m not buying that anime kid’s double open spanner one bit.
Was definitely excited to see this one announced. I played the first one, I believe, but not the second one. And it has been so long ago now that it will feel like a new game anyway.
Never heard of it.
Super pumped! I usually buy physical but I know I will be hopping on to this so much I may just want digital for convenience. I still have all my GBA and DS copies anyway.
@dystome you're in for a treat
@Scarko I recommend you play Psychonauts. It’s fantastic!
@Scarko His profile picture would suggest a Comic Book Guy level of sarcasm.
Will definitely be buying it. They steadily went up in quality from 1, 2 to Dual Strike (the best in the series in my opinion). That last DS entry (Days of Ruin) was a miscalculation that almost killed the series, so I'm glad they're rolling back on it.
@robr Wouldn’t that spanner work for any nut with an even number of sides (providing it has the correct diameter)?
I really was excited for this when it was announced, but being delayed into a busy year, so close to Triangle Strategy has taken some of the shine off. Plus I think Ninty's pricing is a bit steep for the sort of game it is, and it seems Amazon and some other retailers have thought the same.
I think It's a game I'll wait on.
@Maxz @Yas
googled Psychonauts, looks boring. thanks anyway.
@Maxz In case you haven't played it, I would recommend Pokemon Red; it's a great, if obscure retro game.
Why would you pre-order it if there are no special editions or bonus tied in?
Thank you guys, I wouldn’t know where to shop for video games if you didn’t do this for Nintendo releases.
Please also do this for every other game that releases ever because shopping online is a tough thing to do.
@Joriss ya what is the point of pre-ordering this?
I dont pre order anything anymore. I will just get it from Argos when its release. Probarbly for £39.99 like i did pokemon legends.
So glad a physical, but will likely wait for a sale
Who pre orders anything anymore?
I'll wait to see if Curry's have it for £35
I am excited for this, might even go digital because I think it’ll be a nice casual game to play in handheld..
This is my number 1 game!!
The gba prices on eBay are insane. The ds ones are a lot cheaper. It is tempting.
Physical copies are always great to see, but it's a shame there's no special editions with figurines of the army units or COs. Definitely picking up a copy at Walmart for $50USD on release day.
I'm guessing dual strike just wasn't workable due to it using the DS screens back then. Still wouldn't mind it if they just split screened it. Dual strike was one of my faves but I'll still buy this remake.
@thejuice027 Cyberpunk 2077 owners.
(I’m sorry I couldn’t resist)
@Joriss I pre-ordered this ages ago, before it got delayed. You ask a fair question. I'll just say, for me, it's partly that I want a physical copy and I don't want to risk running into stock issues. That may be unlikely, but still. Also, usually Amazon will deliver on launch day for Prime subscribers, so I don't miss much time. Sure, a digital could be downloaded for midnight, but it's not that big a deal. Advanced Wars is a known enough quantity that I don't really need to read a bunch of reviews to know I want it.
@Ryu_Niiyama funny enough, I pre-ordered that for Stadia. They had some stupid cheap deal to get a free Chromecast/controller setup with it. I also am like the only person I know with very few complaints lol. Stadia got to play five hours earlier than other platforms, avoided the huge day one patch wait, and seems to run much more stable than console players report.
@Maxz
Yes, it’s just a weird design.
What are the chances that the originals get release for the Nintendo Online Game Boy Advance? Probably not, I guess.
The delay was to atone for hetler in super famicom wars
@dkxcalibur I realize it's an old post but still, don't give up hope, while they most likely won't release the originals on NSO soon they might eventually do, just look at Link's Awakening!
This is probably gonna get discounted real quick post-release
It's £39.99 from Currys using the stated 20% off code on the page https://www.currys.co.uk/products/nintendo-advance-wars-12-reboot-camp-10235944.html
When it initially went live (28th March) the game was actually priced £39.99 and the code made it £31.99. So lucky people got that price
Surely it would be better to post 'the best deals' as advertised rather than just copy and paste random store links.
Buying this one with the voucher, and saving 30 bucks on Tears of the Kingdom in the process😬
I'm actually getting it delivered today, so if anyone wonders why to pre-order, it's because you can play a day earlier! Jokes aside, I mainly did it to show some love for this series. It has gotten so little of it.
It actually made no sense for me to preorder it, since I still have to finish Metroid Prime and I'm replaying Majora's Mask but now with the Switch N64 controller (somehow feels so much better). And after that I'll be swamped with TOTK for the next two years...
@coderkind I really disliked Days of Ruin. For me they really did everything wrong they got right with the previous editions. The style, the atmosphere, the units... Played it once, gave it a chance, but never have revisited it since.
@Everythingnotsaved it was so grey/brown as well. Completely joyless (gameplay and graphics).
Argos have it for £39.99 that’s cheaper than smyths which is unusual
I'm actually really impressed with how this game turned out. It might just be the GBA games with a fresh coat of paint, but the animations are beautiful and the voice acting adds so much charm to the characters. WayForward has awesome animators and should produce full animated videos or tv shows with their style and characters, would love to see something official for Shantae.
My US Amazon preorder hasn't shipped yet. This has happened for the last few preorders, and I'm a Prime subscriber. My preorder gets delayed, yet the game is available for delivery the next day without a preorder.
My Walmart didn’t have any copies when I checked this am but I’ll try GameStop later. I can’t wait to play these again. I played the gba games but missed out on the ds ones which I’d really like to try as most people say dual strike is the best. I played the gc and wii ones which were very different. They put you right in the action in real time, controlling individual units and commanding your army as you went. I don’t hear much talk about those two but I liked them well enough in the day, I’d like to revisit them as well. I remember liking the aerial controls with the wiimote.
Walked into my local Target and grabbed one. They hadn’t put them out so a fella went into the back to get it. Now I have it and can’t play until this evening - gah!
Game shops and online retailers you say? What sorcery is this?!?
@you4rhea that's exactly what I did. Amazon delayed their projection until next week, after indicating a Friday delivery all week. So I canceled with them and grabbed the voucher.
