There are a ton of changes and new things in the latest Disney Dreamlight Valley update, including new characters, new features, and quality-of-life updates. We're still finding out all the new content that has been added to the game in the February update, so be patient as we discover more!

Everything we know about the Festival of Friendship update
When is the Festival of Friendship update in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Casita, Olaf, and Mirabel will be appearing in Disney Dreamlight Valley from the 16th February, 2023.
Past updates have been released at 9am ET. Here's what that means in other time zones:
- PST: 06:00 Thursday 16th February
- GMT: 14:00 Thursday 16th February
- CET: 15:00 Thursday 16th February
- JST: 23:00 Thursday 16th February
- AEST: 00:00 Friday 17th February
Make sure to save your game to the cloud before updating!
What is in the Festival of Friendship update in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Here's everything that's been confirmed so far.
New characters
- Mirabel (Encanto)
- Olaf (Frozen)
It's not yet clear how these two will be unlocked, although we know that Mirabel's quest will require finding the doorknob to Casita. Whether this unlocks a new Realm or simply somewhere in town that already exists is unknown.
Here's a sneak peek of Olaf, though:
New houses
- Mirabel's Casita
We know that Casita is a big part of this update, and that'll be where Mirabel lives. Some fans are even starting to speculate that Bruno will be in there somewhere, too... but we don't talk about that!
If Olaf's getting his own house, it'll most likely be something to do with the new content in the Frosted Heights... or he'll just be bunking with Elsa, for the time being.
"Discover the Secrets of the Frosted Heights Biome"
As announced in the roadmap, the Frosted Heights biome will be the next biome to get a makeover, after the Scar's Kingdom update let us revitalise the Sunlit Plateau.
Looking at the key art for the update, it looks like we'll be getting to fix the Pillar within the Frosted Heights, and maybe getting to access some secret area that's blocked off behind giant stone doors. And are those footprints?
New Disney 100th Anniversary Star Path
We already knew that the Star Path for February would be themed around Disney's 100th Anniversary, but we'll have a full Star Path breakdown soon! Until then, here's what we know will be included:
- 100th Anniversary rabbit companion
- 100th Anniversary outfit for Mickey
- 100th Anniversary outfit for Minnie
We would also guess that those black-and-white ears that the character is wearing in the key art are part of the Star Path, as those don't already exist in the game.
House exterior customisation
You can now change the appearance of your house on the outside, although it's not clear how much — so far we've only seen a handful of colour changes, but no change to the general appearance and layout of the exterior.
Improvements, item tweaks, and miscellaneous changes
We don't have specifics, but given that DDV is an early access game, each major update comes with a slew of bug fixes, tweaks, changes, and additions that improve the quality of the game.
Judging by the Trello page — which tracks the bug fixes and changes that have been made already — we may be getting some quest fixes. Here are all the things marked as appearing in the next update:
- Fix to Ursula's "Lair Sweet Lair" quest
- Fix for issues that caused avatars to cook and water crops at different rates
- Male avatar no longer looks off-camera in Photo Mode
- Improved item limit display for Furniture Edit Mode
The most major one, though, is that the storage system is getting an overhaul at last! Again, no exact specifics of what that means, other than "expanded storage management" and general quality of life improvements, but we'll take it.
What is the next update after A Festival of Friendship?
For once, we actually have the answer — thanks to the roadmap!
The next update will bring Simba to the game (awkward, since he'll have to hang around Scar, the man lion who murdered his dad), a new Realm, more new characters, and a Star Path themed around the Disney Parks.

Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the different editions?? I have looked it up but I am very confused 😂 basically, it is best just to get the standard edition or is it worth paying a lot more for the other versions?

@presenttense There isn't any real difference in the versions, aside from some clothing and furniture items, a few animal companions, and some in-game event currency that you can also earn on your own.
I opted for the more expensive version, as I care about having those collectible items, but it's not at all necessary. It's been a really wonderful gaming experience so far!
