Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night isn't just a massive Metroidvania adventure to rival the likes of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night; it's also packed with items to find and weapons to obtain – the strongest of which have to be crafted from components dropped by enemies or found in chests dotted around the castle.
Towards the end of the game, boss encounters (both progression-specific and optional) start to ramp up in difficulty and having the correct weapon becomes of paramount importance. You may well already be wondering which weapon is the best in the entire game, but it's not always about power; greatswords, for example, are strong but slow to wind up, while other swords have lower attack power but can deliver multiple hits in the time it takes to swing a hulking greatsword. Add in daggers, whips and even guns, and there's a lot of ground to cover here.
With that in mind, here are two of the best weapons in the game, and how you obtain them.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - Best Melee Weapon
Rhava Velar
Weapon Type | Sword |
Attack Power | 17 |
This is the undisputed bad boy of Bloodstained. Sure, that attack rating might seem low, but Rhava Velar is capable of delivering multiple hits in short succession, making it the spiritual successor to Crissaegrim from SotN – a weapon so powerful that it almost unbalanced the entire game the moment you got your hands on it.
Because of the materials required to craft Rhava Velar, you won't get your hands on it until close to the end of the game, but it's still well worth seeking out.
How To Obtain Rhava Velar
You can craft this amazing weapon by combining x4 Rhava Bural, x1 Crimsonite, x1 Imbrued Fang and x4 Sharp Razors.
Out of those items, the Imbrued Fang is going to be the hardest to track down. Your first option is hoping for a drop from the boss Millionaire’s Bane, but that could involve having to re-load your save if it doesn't drop the item – and it's a tough boss fight. The other option is a random drop from the slot machine in the Millionaire Room, which requires a key found in Den of the Behemoths, right at the end of the game.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - Best Ranged Weapon
Adrasteia
Weapon Type | Gun |
Attack Power | 17 |
Ranged weapons are handy for avoiding damage but are usually a lot weaker than melee weapons. Still, with the right firearm, you can do a lot of damage without putting yourself in harm's way, and that's why the Adrasteia is such a potent shooter. Its bullets don't have the highest attack power but they home in on enemies, making your success rate a lot higher.
How To Obtain Adrasteia
To craft this firearm you're going to need x1 Verethragna, x2 Orichalcum and x1 Imbrued Skull. The latter is an item dropped by the Revenant enemy, found in the Garden of Silence.

I'm using a gun build for the most part so that gun looks great, but I feel like this guide is a bit lacking in weapon variety. How about listing the best weapon of each type instead of just saying "Rhava Velar OP". With each weapon having movesets, it'd make the guide way better for people looking to use specific weapons. I myself use guns and katanas.
Even so, gonna track down that gun.
PROTIP: Finish Suzie's quests to really REALLY make guns OP.
As for the Rhava Velar.... I wouldn't quite call it the best of melee weapons, but definitely a useful one. You can outdo it's damage with a the final Greatsword or the DeathBringer(Level 3) combined with a level 9 Augment Greatsword Shard(Maxed Rank & Grade) and the Optimizer Shard(Maxed Rank & Grade)
You can obtain the Optimizer Shard from the Ocypete Enemy in the Dian Cecht Cathedral(In the area with all the bells) and the Augment Greatsword Shard can be Crafted once you get the Augment Sword/Club Shard(Drops from Sabnock in the Entrance)
Spoilers ahead!

...When you finish all of Susie's cooking requests you get the Recycle Hat, which makes ALL AMMUNITION INFINITE WHEN WORN. Craft Diamond Ammo and you'll have a gun that can hit up to 400-500 damage. And that's IF the enemy is resistant to strike damage. If they aren't... hooo boy.
Recycle hat isn't obtainable until you're very well near the end of the game, so I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to cook all the recipes.
....Oh, and make sure you cook an extra meal for yourself. Remember: You get PERMANENT stat bonuses from the food you eat so make sure you cook extras!
For reference, here are the items with 1 or 2 percent drop rates:
-Fiend Heart(Dropped By Demon Lord)
-Orichalcum(Dropped by G Axe Outsider)
-Alexandrite(Dropped by Ice Elemental)
-Flying Beef(Dropped by Haagenti. This has the lowest drop rate of all items in the game, so be patient. It will drop)
-Alchemic Bounty Shard(Droppped by Zagan in the Garden Of Silence)
-Crimsonite(Dropped by Ninja)
-Dark Matter(Can be cooked as well, but cook it ONCE and then buy from the shop. Saves you the time of farming Dark Elementals)
-Cypress Wood(Dropped by Deathtrap)
The following cooking ingredients can ONLY be obtained in blue chests in the Foreign Alchemy Lab:
-Miso
-Soy Sauce
The following item can ONLY be found in blue chests the underground sorcery lab
-Black Pepper
I hope this info helps your farming needs.
I hope the combat itself is good, in the previous trailers it looked a bit janky, floaty and melee attacks felt like they had no weight behind them.
