Review Overcooked: Special Edition (Switch eShop)
Well done
Part of the draw and charm of the Nintendo Switch is the increased focus that it puts on local multiplayer. Nintendo has always been the king of that style of play, but the Switch takes this to a whole new level when you combine the portability factor with at least two controllers that are always ready to go. Though there are already...

According to retailer listings in Europe and Australia, Overcooked and Overcooked 2 will be receiving a combined Nintendo Switch physical release later this year in November. The description over on JB Hi-Fi says the bundle will include the "base game" for both titles, but sadly makes no mention of the DLC. Get ready for a...

Talking Point What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 22nd)
Here are our picks, but what are yours?
It's the weekend! This wonderful time of the week means that the hard-working members of team Nintendo Life are all heading off to play some of those video game things we all love (while keeping several eyes on the site to make sure it doesn't explode, of course). This week, some of the team are off to EGX,...

As part of a press briefing at GDC 2018 - where it was also revealed that the Nintendo Switch eShop will receive an update to improve game visibility - Nintendo revealed the top ten selling indie games, and it's a who's who of independently-developed hits. Here's the list (in no particular order):...
Talking Point What Games Are You Playing This Weekend
Here are our picks, but what are yours?
This weekend, Team Nintendo Life are giving their respective Nintendo consoles a good workout with all manner of virtual gems. We've got plenty of Neo Geo action; some 'Nindies' for good measure; the occasional shooter; and lots and lots of a certain game involving Inklings (can you guess which one?). As...

News Overcooked: Special Edition Update Brings Silky-Smooth Framerate
A little longer in the oven works wonders
We rather liked Overcooked: Special Edition when it brought chaotic co-op cookery to the Switch back in July. It's been very popular on other platforms previously of course, but there is nothing like playing on the Switch on-the-go in tabletop mode with a friend, is there? Unfortunately, there...
News The Overcooked: Special Edition Performance Patch Is Nearing Release
Targeting that cinematic 30 FPS
We think Overcooked: Special Edition is a standout game in the Switch’s growing catalogue, but the one major problem to be found in this particular version is the relatively shoddy performance compared to other versions. Overcooked runs at a steady 30 FPS on other platforms, but stutters somewhere around 20 FPS on...
Video Overcooked: Special Edition on Switch Could Do With a Little More Time in the Oven
Digital Foundry pinpoints frame issues
Overcooked: Special Edition is a relatively high-profile recent arrival on the Switch eShop, serving up a very popular frantic co-op experience (though you can also play solo) both on the TV or on the go. We're still cooking up a review, but in the meantime our chums at Digital Foundry have taken a look at its...

When does this come out?!
I have the steam version of this game, is very funny. And of course i have the switch version now. But something is wrong. The loading times remember to the NBA playgrounds before the update. And the movement in the game feels slow. Need a better optimization work
@oselp it's very normal, expect it to be patched soon with a update
Amazing co-op fun for four players! Love it
The ultimate friendship test
The most frustrating $20 we've ever spent. The controls were horrible and made the game barely playable. Perhaps that's part of the game design, keeping things chaotic and hard to play. But there is no reason to make it hard by NOT responding to button presses or intentionally picking up the wrong items.
If you enjoy paying for torture, go for it. Otherwise find something much more relaxing and enjoyable.
@blueprint , you might have controller drift. Ours works perfectly.
