Review Tales of Symphonia Remastered - A GameCube Classic That Shows Its Age On Switch
Dwarven Vow #108: Let sleeping dogs lie
Though it’s never quite had the popularity of the Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest franchises, the Tales series has set a good reputation as the ‘other’ classic JRPG series that’s consistently maintained a decent quality for quite some time now. Back in 2004, Namco (no Bandai yet) was only on the fifth...

Talking Point Which 'Tales' Game Will Come To Switch Next?
It's Karma
Big, bold characters. Comfortable story beats that deal with multiple worlds, gods, and the power of friendship. Confusingly titled battle systems. And colourful anime openings featuring J-pop songs. The Tales series has made a name for itself over the last 30 years for many different reasons, and it's why many — myself included —...

A handful of fixes
Tales of Symphonia Remastered for the Nintendo Switch has seen its fair share of criticism, but it seems like Bandai Namco is at least looking to continue supporting the game with numerous updates and patches. News Tales Of Symphonia Remastered Update Incoming, Here Are The Patch Notes
Some much needed fixes
It's no secret that Tales of Symphonia Remastered launched in a, shall we say, less-than-favourable state. With the release retaining many of the annoyances from the original GameCube title (along with adding a few new ones to boot), it sadly wound up being a rather forgettable experience. Thankfully, Bandai Namco is back...

In need of regeneration?
Bandai Namco has opened up a survey for Tales of Symphonia Remastered, asking fans and those who've played the game to provide them feedback on the release. The beloved action RPG — which initially launched on GameCube in 2003 — made it to Switch back in February in a remaster based on the Japan-only PS2 port. Yet many...

The good, the bad and the ugly
It's been a long six months since we last got a new Kirby game on Switch, but with this week's release of Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, we think it's safe to say that nature is finally healing. This week over on Nintendo Life we have been delving into the world of ports, asking why so many remasters are sub-par...
News Bandai Namco Apologises For Tales Of Symphonia Remastered Issues On Switch
Currently investigating a fix
Beloved RPG Tales of Symphonia's recent remaster should've been met with applause from Tales series fans, but instead, the Switch version in particular has drawn some criticism for the various technical issues. And Bandai Namco is aware of them (via Abyssal Chronicles). In a series of tweets, the official Japanese...
Talking Point Why Are So Many Remasters Sub-Par At Launch?
Remastering the wheel
Remasters are fantastic, but they're also a little bit weird. They give us the chance to revisit some of our favourite games from our childhood, give new players the opportunity to share in our experiences, and sometimes they represent the first time a game is getting an international release. But why are they so inconsistent?...

First up is Tales of Symphonia Remastered, Bandai Namco's refreshed take on the GameCube classic, which enters the charts at number four with 21,860 copies sold on Switch. In our review of the game, we said that the...
