A bloody good time
It's 2017, and this is a review for DOOM on the Nintendo Switch. Even after having completed the 8-to-10 hour campaign, spending a few more hours in multiplayer and having tried out arcade mode, it still feels unreal. After 20 years, id's magnum opus is back on a Nintendo console. "They are rage, brutal, without mercy. But you...

Worth its weight in gold
"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." Ah, yes. The classic quote that may or may not have been uttered by Shigeru Miyamoto. Big, dumb, and lots of fun
Now, with the Bethesda published 2016 iteration coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year, DOOM can be small and dumb, while still having its trademark 'BFG'. About The Game
Fight Like Hell
Developed by id Software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and created multiplayer Deathmatch, DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat – whether you’re obliterating demon hordes through the depths of Hell in the single-player campaign, or competing against your friends in numerous multiplayer modes. There is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell’s raging demon hordes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement and an advanced melee system to knock-down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways.

One of my favorite games of 2016, now portable
So glad this is coming out this holiday season vs sometime next year.
Maybe the worst Version, but an outstanding game and its impressive what the Switch can do.
And its portable!
I didn't think I would have issues with the graphics, but the experience is really not that smooth. I think it is way too blurry and I keep losing focus.
The motion aim controls don't work as well as I hoped and even after a lot of practice I just stick to joysticks.
I am mostly disappointed by the poor audio quality, however. This is a game that takes its energy from the atmosphere and adrenaline. The audio is extremely compressed which makes it more annoying than anything else.
Great game, average port.
Panic button. What a team. How they have ported Doom to Switch is nothing short of remarkable. This is gaming on the go at its finest.
