Topic: Yoshi's Island?

this seems to be the game nobody is asking about. as much of a classic as it is, i haven't heard it mentioned at all in the articles or anywhere on this site. does anyone have any info about this game maybe coming on the VC?

It's been mentioned quite a few times, actually. There's no way to say for sure when it'll come but I'm sure it'll come eventually.

It is my most anticipated game for vc, even more than Super Mario Kart. One of the greatest platform games ever!
I have the gba game and the ds remake for now.

It didn't feel like a full on sequel to me. Still thought it was great though.

I'm surprised it has not yet been released, the same goes for Super Mario Kart. But I'm absolutely sure they will come out sometime.

Actually, the original was released on GBA, too, Lakitu.

Shea, no way, oh, right, the Super Mario Advance one! That means wow,
we've got another avenue to play this game.
Wow, it's really lucky we get to play them in the first place,
with all the skill, talent, imagination put into it, and so many other games,
it's like we're asking for the ultimate spoiledness! Not really but,
if I wanted to really play this game I'd just try and find the original(s) copies.

And if and when this and other VC games to be released,
I'd want it to be with an update of the Wii, in-terms of 'filtered-themes',
and just plain make it more spectacular to own, play and have these
awesome VC games available!

Joe, it doesn't matter if it doesn't "feel" like a sequal to you, the story was a continuation, so it was an actual sequal.

Anyway, the main thing i was concerned with was the fact that super mario kart for the snes was actually rated for the wii and released in other territories, whereas Yoshi's island hasn't been announced in any form.

Tsuchinoko - fair enough. When I used the word "remake" I didn't even think about it. I stil think that it is a great game but not a classic as it is a safe retread of a classic. Super Mario Galaxy 2 had better be more different from it's predecessor.

Isn't there a (fx?) chip that held back SNES games like Super Mario Kart & Yoshi's Island from the vc? If they have got it to work for Super Mario Kart then hopefully that means that there is hope for Yoshi's Island too.

The FX Chip wasn't used in Super Mario Kart, but Yoshi's Island that's probably the reason. I wish they would find a way for Yoshi's Island. That's a great game and I really want it.

Or they could find some alternative to replace the FX chip graphics...what else was using the chip anyways? The only thing I can think of are those 3D spinning platform things.

I don't know...I mean it shouldn't be THAT hard. But they did say it was more expensive.

Wow, if you love that one, you won't be able to get enough of the original.

You have no clue what you're missing since you haven't played the original Yoshi's Island.
Nintendo needs to get their act together and release Yoshi's Island on the VC.

If it wasn't for that Super FX 2 Chip it probably would be.

Oh please. If Nintendo can release Super Mario RPG [which had special graphics chips] and Majora's Mask [Expansion Pak], they can release Yoshi's Island with very liitle trouble. Nintendo's problem is simple:laziness.

I wouldn't say it's laziness but that it's just not as high a priority for them. I have no doubt they'll get the game out eventually though. Maybe they'll release it as a promotion for Super Mario Galaxy 2, sinse the main draw to that game seems to be the addition of Yoshi. We'll see.

I just hope it comes out soon.

I don't hack, but in the twilight hack, They success to emulate all Snes games with the emulator! And Nintendo Uses Emulator for the game! i don't know why nintendo can't do that..
