am trying to decide between Blaster Master and Gunstar Heroes. I never played them before on their original platforms, but the reviews make them both seem like must haves- so what do you recommend and why? (I'm leaning toward Blaster Master as of this moment, but that can change).

I have 600 points, and am looking at either a good RPG or platformer. I already have Blaster Master, Lolo 1, Mega Man, Mega Man 2, StarTropics, Neutopia, and some others. Thinking either Shining Force or Sonic 2 while they're on sale.
Yo, I need a little help making a decision - I got 500 points left, which one of these games would probably be the better buy?:
Ninja Gaiden 2 - I enjoyed the original, but I've yet to finish it. Should I get it anyways? It may be a while before I get around to it, though
Castlevania 2 - for completion purposes, and the very slight chance that it might actually be good
Super Mario Bros. 2 - It's the only main Mario game besides Lost Levels that I don't currently own. Please note that I have tried 3 different versions of it, and never got past level 1
Fantasy Zone 2 - I don't even own the original, though
Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics 2 - I want it, but I want to finish the original StarTropics first
Mega Man 2 - I already have it on the collection, but I figure I might want to get it on vc anyways just because I love it so much
Phantasy Star - even though I'll probably get it on a collection someday, I might want to get it, just because it's really the only PS game that interests me
R-Type - For the helluvit, because I love R-Type so dang much
Sonic Chaos - Already have it, but I might want to get it again with a bigger screen
Mach Rider - looks pretty cool from the videos
Zanac - Looks pretty cool from the videos, but I fear it may end up becoming too frustrating
Secret Command - I know absolutely nothing about this game. But the boxart is pretty cool
Adventures of Lolo - Looks pretty neat, but I'm not sure how long a puzzle game could hold my attention
Life Force - I've played it before, and it is very very very very very very very hard. But I really liked it anyways, and I love the series. Might end up being too frustrating, though.
Ghosts 'n' Goblins - It looks like an absolute blast from the videos, but I'm not so sure I'll have enough patience for it.
Solomon's Key - Looks pretty interesting, and I might just get it to tide me over until we get Fire 'n' Ice, but again, I'm not so sure a puzzle game could hold my attention for every long
@Mickeymac: I'd recommend Life Force. It's a hard game, but if you find it too frustrating you could just use the thirty live Konami Code. It also has a co-op mode where a friend can try to help you out.
I would recommend SMB2 (US) instead but if you can't even beat the first level, it's rather difficult to recommend.
Jesus is the only way.
It's OK to have an opinion. This ain't the Soviet Union you know. Letterboxd Youtube Channel
@mickeymac: Super Mario Bros. 2 is great, but Mega Man 2 would be my choice. You haven't played it until you've played it with the Wii Remote sideways.
@Mickeymac: From what I read on the Phantasy Star series, IV is the best one but that one is 800 points. For the 500 you listed, I would go for either Ninja Gaiden 2 or Zoda's Revenge. You have the originals for both so you might as well have the sequel of either to be there for you when you finish the original of either.
@Mickeymac- If you like Zelda-style puzzle solving, get Adventures of Lolo. You won't regret it.
Yeah, the thing is, I don't really play Zelda for the puzzles. They're okay, but I generally prefer just killing enemies. Lolo does look pretty cool, but I don't think it'll be able to hold my attention for very long.
@mickeymac: Super Mario Bros. 2 is great, but Mega Man 2 would be my choice. You haven't played it until you've played it with the Wii Remote sideways.
Heh, I've been playing Mega Man with a Gamecube controller for so long, I tend to forget it came out on anything else.
Still looking for a few more suggestions before I take the plunge. I'll tally up the votes before I go to bed.
Of those, I would say Zanac because it's similar to The Guardian Legend, one of the (if not the) best games on the NES. And you can never go wrong with Compile.
