for the record, sin and punishment was already released 6 months ago, so if it's being delayed it's only because nintendo felt they made a mistake with their original date. if other M needs more work, let them work on it until it's perfect, but this may not have anything to do with how complete the game is. some people are speculating that this means zelda isn't looking likely for christmas, so nintendo is stretching their lineup later into the year to make up for it. i hope not, because that means that in addition to no zelda this year, other M could need to be held late enough to be the holiday title.

I kind of hope Other M is a holiday release. Just so im not behind on amazing games. Spread them out. Then release Zelda early 2011.

Normally, i'd say this is 100% BS rumor, but some online retailers are now showing later release dates (Best Buy, WalMart), so i'm at about 85% BS rumor.

Either way, it won't bother me THAT much, but i do for some reason like playing Metroid games in the Summer better. No idea why.

She-Ra is awesome. If you believe otherwise, you are clearly wrong.
Urban Champion is GLORIOUS.

If it's true, it won't bother me. It'll give them more time to perfect it (and hopefully the voice acting), and it'll give me more time to play the crapton of games coming out this summer. (SMG2, TrackMania, Monster Hunter, Prince of Persia, Arc Rise Fantasia, and more than twice as many more on WiiWare)

As if their first party line-up for this year weren't sad enough already. Oh well, PS3 has the more interesting line-up so far, anyway.

Really it's better for everyone if the titles are pushed back a bit. Metroid will be overshadowed by Mario Galaxy 2 no matter how good it may be, so to release it a month after SMG2 didn't make much sense to begin with. Sin & Punishment 2 would be overshadowed by pretty much everyhting so it really needs a release date that doesn't time with anything that is a big name. Not to mention that by stretching the releases out a bit it helps keep the appearance that the Wii has a steady stream of high quality games coming out instead of hearing everyone complain that they released everything at the same time and have a lull for six months or longer like 07.

It's like a wrestling angle (sorry but using wrestling makes it easier for me to explain) you can hotshot it and give the fans the instant gratification (such as TNA giving away RVD/Styles for the title with no buildup) that helps in the short term or you can build the angle and suspense and tease at it until the fans are foaming at the mouth and will have no problems shelling out $40 for the PPV to see the ending.

Give us teasers, trailers, gameplay footage and maybe a demo while we wait. Talk it up, make it seem like these are must own games. That's how you make a blockbuster game these days. Would GTA IV have done the business it did if they hadn't done all these things with IGN, Gamespot, etc..? It would've sold a lot, but when they turned it from a game into an event they made it into a must have, life changing thing. Now you can't do this with Petz Party 8 or something like that, but when you have Metroid and the creator of Ninja Gaiden doing it, it's not hard to make it into a (no pun intended) game changing release on how the Wii is viewed.

I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

Sin & Punishment 2 getting pushed back to 6/27? Damn it Nintendo, I'll be at the beach that time!

Except for those who preordered Other M... Unless there is a significant problem in development (highly unlikely they'd have already given a release date if so -- more likely this is a Zelda problem, if true at all), there is no advantage to the consumer not being able to purchase the game when they were told they could.

You know what would be better than the appearance of a steady stream of high quality games? A steady stream of high quality games. Nintendo isn't fooling anyone by stretching out just a few games yet again.

I don't see how their line-up is that bad, especially compared to last year. Still, this delay has me worried they won't have much to say at E3, or that, Zelda will be delayed for next year. I do want at least one major surprise (Pikmin 3, F-Zero, heck a new Paper Mario game) to be released by years end.

Not to mention that the PS3's lineup is looking pretty pathetic if you ask me, unless the Last Guardian somehow makes it into 2010.

I didn't think it made sense either to have two big name titles releasing so close to each other. I guess I could understand how you could be mad if you preordered, but as long as the stores honor your preorder when the game is released, I don't see a problem. It's not like it's coming out earlier, so you won't have the money saved by then or something. I also understand why they wouldn't want Sin & Punishment sandwiched between Mario & Other M in the space of two-three months. Who would notice it besides a few S&P fanboys?

I honestly don't see this as trying to spread out a terrible lineup for the year. What do you expect? A AAA first party title release every month? That's sort of ridiculous. It's not like there's been a shortage of good 3rd party games the front half of this year (MH Tri, NMH2, and Red Steel 2) either plus Endless Ocean 2 by Nintendo (not my thing, but was a highly rated first party release here) to keep you busy while you wait.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

@Token Girl Totally agreed, although FYI Endless Ocean 2 is by ARIKA.

Nintendo are the publisher, however, so to that extent it's a first party game.

I see people saying stuff like in relation to Nintendo first party all the time but if you applied that to Sony and MS then they have very, very few first party games. Halo: ODST and Reach wouldn't be First Party even.

EDIT: Also people have to take into account that Nintendo published/is publishing Monster Hunter 3(or at least helping) and Samurai Warriors 3(which I think comes out next month as well). I imagine Tecmo Koei wouldn't be too happy if their game was neglected and they happened to be involved with another game now don't they?
