Topic: MLB POWER PROS 2008!

Ever since researching a bit after alex got my interest with this game, I LOVE WHAT IVE SEEN OF IT! Kinda reminds me of backyard baseball...theres mii's in it too. Its unfortunate that the guys have no legs tho However, since its old and i can prolly find a copy in my town cheap since not many people own wiis, i was wondering is this the best baseball game on wii thats not actually extremely serious baseball? (serious as in actual characters, not cartoony, not too different looking in gameplay/art style, example being mlb baseball 2k9 ) I dont like sports games that take themselves too seriously other than tiger woods 10. So should i get this game or is there a better one out now (alexsays, ull prolly know) cuz ive heard backyard baseball is on wii too so i bet theres more...

Backyard Baseball isn't even close to being as good, and there aren't any others that come to Power Pros. level.

I'd say it's one of the best Wii games out there (it's definitely the deepest) so is it the best baseball game? No question.

I got the ps2 version before I got my wii. They really need to bring the next game over here with online and everything. Not only is the main baseball game great but the success and mlb life modes are really addictive and funny. Plus its cool to play as just one player. It has tons of depth and a fun look. Perfect game for the wii.

Good to know. I've got a MLB 2K8 disc that's seen about 5 minutes of play time. Like DaDun, I'm no fan of sports games that take themselves too seriously. That's what the pros get paid for, not me. I like to, you know, enjoy my sports games? Thanks for the tip Alex - I'll look into it to replace my 2K8.

MLB PowerPros is the most like RBI Baseball, but even better. I can't wait for the 2009 version.

You're sure? i dont wanna buy this one now if the next eventually comes out soon enuf. Im also looking into shaun white snowboarding cuz its apparently as good as SSX blur n i love that game, so between MLB and Shaun i am tied lol. I have the first game, released in late 2007 I believe, great game, I can't believe the "franchise" is done so sad, I didn't buy the 08 game because i Was waiting for the new game, silly me....

Sometimes the game play can get a little bit repetitive but nothing you can bitch about.

There is no North American game this year. That's already been finalized.

What is your source if everything has been finalized? I looked on the 2k sports forum and and latest official news is still that nothing is finalized. And even if 2k sports doesn't bring it over theres a chance someone else might.

I was turned off by the look of the game but after reading a lot of reviews I gave it a chance. The game is simply fun and deep at the same time.

According to Amazon, MLB PowerPros came out in October, while MLB PowerPros 2008 came out in July. I am not going to give up on MLB PowerPros 2009 just yet, especially since The Bigs 2 just came out, they don't want both of their baseball games competing against each other.

Has anyone played the DS version? Just wondering if it is any good?

@LinktotheFuture: I have it. It's pretty solid, but it's very barebones feature-wise. You have playoffs and exhibition mode, and that's about it. No RPG mode.

This is my favorite wii game. Have hundreds of hours of gameplay in it. MLB Life is my favorite. I finished two rookie careers. One with 987 career home runs.
