And who is your favourite towns person, you must have one?

I've got my lovely Letty, whom I like to think of as my "kept woman." I had three women who I allowed to remain carefree adults when everyone else got jobs, but Letty was my favorite and I just let the other two lounge about to make her jealous and keep her on her toes.

Then I got to the point that I could train merchants, so I sent the other two chicks off to do that, and now it's just Letty. I seek her out and say hello whenever I can, and whenever I expand my kingdom I bring her along to survey the new area, and to watch me send carpenters and lumberjacks off to do jobs for me, so that she can see I get results.

To hell with Apricot. I'm seeing to it that Corobo's real heart stays with Letty.

That's beautiful it really is. I can see it now, that horrible moment when you meet a baddie whilst she is in tow, "ruuuuun!" Have you taken any kids out and about yet, you feel EXTRA responsibility for their safety.
I'm so glad I get to feed off everybody else's enjoyment of the game, to hear their stories of adventure and friendships. lol. Listen to me, that game was even better than I thought, it has stayed with me.

Oh man, yeah! I took some kids out to get art out of trees, and I was terrified for their safety! I took way more soldier than I needed, and I was paranoid about digging any holes or anything, in case a baddie popped out. And once we had the art, STRAIGHT back to town, and save the game.

If LKS taught me anything, it's that I'll be a really protective parent.

Will Okami stop Machu playing LKS tomorrow? We shall see, hhmmm.

Although i am generally a relentless tyrant with my towns folk I did take a full army of grunts to protect my one tree climbing child & only took him to areas I had already cleared. Also i did feel a twinge of guilt when I forced one dude to come and hunt treasure when he was dressed for a funeral and had just told me how sad he was.

Has anyone else ever noticed some inconsistencies in the way the Resurrection Beach works? I know I gave it high praise earlier for bringing back to me some large groups that I had lost in one or two fights, but I'll admit I've seen some strange things when I've had just a couple deaths here or there. I've had it where I didn't get the person back immediately the next day, but instead I got them back a few days later. Or I've had it where I get back a different person than the one that was lost. One that really has me confused is this carefree adult that washed up once when I know I've never brought one out of the town before. I got her in place of three guys that I lost in battle. WTF? Also, the only time I've ever seen an official (irreversible) death notice that caused anyone to dress in black, I didn't even save the game that time. So theoretically I ought to have at least a few guys floating around out there still waiting to get washed up again.

Anyway... I keep seeing art up in trees out there but I haven't yet gotten around to gathering them up. I didn't even know that kids could do that (when I read Liam's tutorial on them, I seem to remember it saying they were just good at digging like the farmers) until I read it somewhere on the gamefaqs board for the game. I also didn't know about taxes so I just took some time out to go around town for that since I also found out that that's where you get some of the art from.

I'm trying to expand my kingdom into one more area and I'm just not seeing a way not to get slaughtered here. I try to keep my people away from the guardian's attacks, of course, but somehow it still manages to instant kill (by transforming them into radish enemies) about 10 of my troops at a time with its bite.

I constantly throw my people in the church, and hope that someone gets married. Once they do, just throw the child that they make together in the school built in royal town to turn them into a carefree adult quickly. This will help expand your kingdom alittle. Breed, breed breed!!!

Under what circumstances can you pick up more than 50 treasures before dropping them off at the castle (I've had up to 53 one time) and can the resurrection beach ever resurrect your king? (he's died so many times I'm willing to bet it's impossible but the in game text suggests anyone can be resurrected). When it comes to resurrection beach, I'd only lose 1 villager for good - even if I'd lost 15 in battle.

Also, does anyone just LOVE it when a frog jumps out of a river and gobbles up a soldier before you can regroup? Or some oniis with a giant dragons tale pops up and whacks EVERY last one of your troops into the stratosphere. I usually reset that point, but next time I play it through, I think I might not - just for the challenge.

Strategies: (on Easy Difficulty)
Shishkebaboo - I was having real trouble with this battle and like an earlier post, I wasn't sending the soldiers out. Then I found out a handy trick - which is to strafe from left to right while rapidly sending out my unit. Eventually I was able to win the battle.

TV Dinnah - I knew enough about geography to get through this battle, but I probably could have brought some more farmers with me.

Final Kingdom Boss (Collosus) - Surprisingly easy. Just a matter of of sending out all of my soldiers and recalling them.

The Final Boss - Not so much a strategy as a story of a stressful way to finish a game. Throughout this battle I lost 27 troops! I wasn't able to identify the tells where the boss was going to execute a one hit kill (sometimes on as many as 12 troops at once) and would you believe it, he killed EVERY SINGLE ONE of my hardened soldiers in one stroke. By the time he was down to 2/3rds of his health, I had just 2 animal hunters left. Eventually (thanks to the respawning arrow jugs and my new found knowledge of when he was going to one hit KO my troops), I was able to defeat him.

Then I found out us Euro slags don't have access to the Tyrant difficulty level.

If you take out a large group into battle and spend the day out there, sometimes you'll see hearts float up from the people in your party...that's easy to miss, though, in the heat of battle.

When you get back to town and disband your army (always disband, don't just walk back into the castle!) the ticker should then say that "So-and-so and So-and-so have fallen in love!" At that point, summon those two people and send them into the church.

Also, if you spend the day just walking around your kingdom, collecting taxes or something, you may see two villagers sitting together on a bench in the town square with hearts coming out of their heads. If so, you won't get a notice, but just summon them off the bench and send them into church.

Talking to your citizens can help, too. I spoke to one guy who said, "I feel so great! I have a date with Ava tonight!" even thoguh I never got an announcement that they were in love. So I grabbed him, found Ava, sent them into the church and they got married. So it looks like there's a bunch of ways to figure out they're in love. There are probably even more I haven't discovered.

Gah! I ****ing hate this "quiz battle". Over the course of about 4 or 5 continues and almost an hour of playing it, I've tried EVERY option in the final question and they were ALL wrong. WTF?!

That's what I thought too, and it did my head in! But, there is one answer you haven't tried! Think about it.

I got the answer off gamefaqs... I thought I had tried that, actually.

Any tips on the Turnip Guardian. He just killed 20 men in one attack OMG. Are archers the way to go? If so I'm gonna have to train some more, I've only got about 7 at the minute.Grunts FTW

What's this bit for again?

malpon

A good way to beat any boss is to take like 4-5 grunts it takes longer but its MUCH easier to keep track of them and keep them safe.

ps: this dont work on kings

Yes hunters , and when he gets ready to attack , retreat back to near where you came in , he wont come that far and will replant himself back in the ground , so keep repeating this till he's roasted !!!

Ha ha.I knew it!! Thanks man. I'll try it with the 7 I've got now so I can try malnin's suggestion at the same time. Two birds ,one stone . I do think that malnin could be right.Sometimes I think I take too many people but I don't like going out with only a small army to protect me! I wish that you could dismiss individuals so once you finish with a carpenter say ,then fight a boss you could just tell him to go home before battle. It's hard to keep track of everyone in the heat of a big fight!

@malnin_and_mr_limbo Ha worked like a charm. It was so easy I didn't get hit once. Should have thought about it a bit more.
Thanks Guys. That's another bit of the world dominated united.
