I have a Wii U Deluxe and am planning on buying the Wii U Zelda Edition. I know that Nintendo says you cannot perform a system transfer from one U to another but, can't sign into the new one, and copy my game saves to the new console? Can I do this with VC games?
I just called Nintendo support, they said that I can send them both consoles and they will transfer the data for me. I explained and asked twice, that I want not only the game saves from my DVD games but also game saves with-in my Virtual Console games and they said that they can do that.... They did say that I may have to re-download any eShop games to get them back but doesn't that contradict what they just said? I thought that the saves were in the downloaded file, not a separate file?

once the transfer has completed you have to download all of your games again
also the screen ratio is at a fixed 4:3 you cannot change it. NES games look like a pin prick on the TV .. Also the transfer completely wipes your Wii account so you cannot have the VC games on both systems
Also when i transferred all my VC games over to the Wii U the save data was not there .. i had a a FFVI file with over 90 hours gameplay and a 100% completed majoras mask save. Its still on the Wii but not the Wii U ... ( i think i did something wrong im not sure )
Thats my personal advice i wish i did not do it now ..
Yeah I have heard that VC save files dont transfer over from Wii U to Wii U and honestly I dont know why. I think it might because the Wii U transfer is in its infancy hence why only Nintendo can do it. The dont expect alot of people to be transferring from Wii U to Wii U like they do with the Wii to Wii U. But still it makes no sense since you can do a complete transfer from a 3DS XL to a 3DS XL without sending it in.
In truth though if you are getting the Zelda Wii U bundle all you have to do is calibrate the Game Pad to your deluxe model the Windwaker game is a download code and the systems themselves are not different in anyway its just the Gamepad that had the Zelda design on it. There really is no need to transfer.

As someone here suggested in another thread, buy the Zelda bundle, sync the new controller with our current Wii U, then sell the new console with the old Gamepad.
Wow, I didn't even think of that. I do believe the Gamepad is the only difference in the bundle
