I have to ask, why has this brilliant racer not been given another game? It sold over a million, was praised by critics, has gameplay that keeps you coming back but Sega has done nothing with it. It's the best kart style racer I've played other than the obvious on Wii U.
I imagine Nintendo is in no rush to endorse a sequel due to competition with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Sony and MS probably aren't to keen either given they look for multimillion sellers. So it's really up to Sega, and Sega has a habit of not giving deserving games a proper sequel. But who knows, maybe we'll see another one day.

Transformed was quite good and entertained me volumes while Mario Kart 8 wasn't there, I would think that with the Mario Kart 8 DX release Nintendo is in no hurry to make Mario Kart 9, so while not rightaway, there is likely a window of opportunity for a kart racer on Switch in 2018 or 2019. Give Switch owners some time to digest Mario Kart and then show them the next course in the buffet.
And if you can, squeeze as much as you can out of the Switch hardware, SEGA. After all, MK8 is still a Wii U game, you can do better now. Sonic & All Stars Racing Switch!
@JaxonH I doubt Nintendo would worry about it being competition as Mario Kart is too dominant. Plus Sega and Nintendo seem to have a great relationship.
@Samurai_Goroh Yeah, it's kept me entertained so much too especially if Mario Kart fatigue sets in, it's the perfect alternative.
The idea of an updated Switch version would be amazing. I don't have high hopes though. But Sonic is long overdue a new racer as good as All-Stars.
