Topic: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Well, since Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PS5 is already out and I have zero interest with Metroid Dread, I will consider this game instead.

My first impression from the gameplay I watched from YouTube was really good.
The game was running in 1080p / 4K + 60 fps, felt like Ratchet & Clank PS3 games before.
I noticed if Rift Apart was a sequel of Into the Nexus, that's explained the weapon upgrade system in Rift Apart was exactly same as Into the Nexus.

I didn't think you even had a PS5?

Well, i don't have PS5 machine and games yet but i will start to collect the games first while waiting for White color PS5 Slim with better specs. Here in Indonesia, the price of PS5 machine is around Rp 11,000,000 or more than US$ 730 !! 😣

About Rift Apart, so far from the gameplay video i watched from Youtube, i'm glad there are some planets i recognized them from their name and biome. Dr. Nefarious was still same crazy as villain, Rivet was a nice addition, Mrs. Zurkon now open her business as weapon vendor after her husband Mr. Zurkon got retired (Used to be he was a part of weapon set), Captain Qwark voiced by different people due the original voice actor passed away by Covid-19 virus. 😔

My little complain was the font size that looks smaller and quite hard to read from distance 2.5 - 3 meter. So far looks great.

Yeah, i forgot there was like a lot of Options and Configuration from Menu.
The video gameplay i watched so far were mostly have small texts, probably the player haven't adjust the font size.

That seems like a weird strategy with Playstation games, given that they usually fall in price quite a lot over time (unlike Nintendo games). I'd just wait til you get the console if I were you.

I already did with other machines such as PS4, Switch, PS3, 3DS, Wii U, XBOX, XBOX 360.
I bought the games first then bought the machine once i found a good deal. But i still haven't bought any XBOX machines (Classic and 360).

Getting the right XBOX machines in Indonesia was really hard and complicated as XBOX brand is a dead brand in Indonesia started from XBOX ONE since Indonesia peoples like to pirate the games and modding the machine so it can play pirated games or they can add the HDD with pirated game files. Also, Indonesia is a PlayStation island with Nintendo as secondary favorites.

Finding OG XBOX USA version in Indonesia was quite hard as the model that have ever exist in Indonesia are mixed (Asia, USA, PAL) since OG XBOX can be modded with mod chip + the games can be pirated and get illegal mass prints, to determine which machine is USA version or not was really hard too as it didn't display with very clear words NTSC-J / NTSC-U / PAL on its machine body. The reason i must getting the USA version because all my OG XBOX games are USA version only and they are only DDR Ultramix 1 - 4 (4 games only) and why only 4 USA games, because those are the only OG XBOX games i want to play. Nothing else, i didn't consider the multi console 3rd party games on XBOX version since they are not worthy to get under difficult situation to get the machine as well. The multi console 3rd party games i will always choose either PlayStation or Nintendo version as they are easier to get than XBOX version.

Same case with XBOX 360 that i must get USA version machine since i want to play DDR UNIVERSE 1 - 3 + Dance Masters by Konami that strictly only playable on USA machine since those games are Region lock. I have ever experienced by purchasing a wrong region XBOX 360 machine. I thought the machine that i bought from the seller that mentioned NTSC region was really NTSC-U (USA version). But after it got examined and tested by inserting Dance Masters USA version, the machine didn't recognize the disc as it said wrong region disc. If the machine that being said NTSC cannot play NTSC-U games, so that means my XBOX 360 machine was NOT NTSC-U machine, it was PAL region after some further investigation. The thing that probably indicated my XBOX 360 was PAL region from the voltage using 220 V instead of 110 V. Fortunately, i could refund the machine as i got wrong region machine. As i still looking for XBOX 360 USA machine, recently i found another seller who have legit XBOX 360 USA version included with his explanation about USA version from voltage using. But to consider that machine after i have experienced of getting wrong product, i still holding back my desire to get XBOX 360 USA machine in hurry. I will try to find the right time to consider OG XBOX and XBOX 360 USA machines as like OG XBOX, i only interested by DDR UNIVERSE games and Kinect games for XBOX 360. Nothing else.

And until today, i still found Indonesian peoples like to refurbish OG XBOX and XBOX 360 machines so they can hack the machine and install the illegal game files onto HDD. A repeated of unbreakable cycle.

PS5 pre-order arrived almost two weeks ago and this is one of the games I bought with it. Had never played any of the Ratchet & Clank games prior to this, so Rift Apart has been a nice surprise. Plenty to love about it and glad I took a chance on it. Had seen it touted as the PS5's 'Super Mario 64' or 'Halo' moment, in regards to showcasing the console's capabilities and features, and I haven't been let down.

A must-buy for anyone getting a PS5 (depending on your tastes, of course)...

Great to see someone have interest with this game.
I have played all Ratchet & Clank games on PS3 & PS4, only All 4 One and Q Force I still haven't finished yet. All 4 One was really boring and tiring in term of gameplay, Q Force was really hard for Tower Defense style game. A Crack in Time was the Best from all in term of gameplay and storyline.

I saw Rift Apart was great too as I found some nostalgic places from previous games in better HD rendering. The game was still quite expensive here in Indonesia as it tagged by US$ 70 currently but I found from the day to day, the price of Rift Apart was slowly got cheaper. I will get the game once the price was okay for me to buy.

Just bite the bullet and get it dude, it's worth it.

Just finished the game, now onto Miles Morales.

Imagine owning a ps5.. wish I had the luck to get one.

@Snatcher It burns, given that I have the funds currently, and there’s many games I want to play that are inferior on ps4, due to the new console’s capabilities.

Doesn’t seem like they’ll be supplying the ps5 itself in 2022 like they said, due to current world events..

@VoidofLight Oh wow they are still this scarce? I thought the situation might've become better... I was lucky enough to get one in early December but it still hasn't seen that much use yet apart from the FF7 Remake and the graphic comparisons between consoles.
I'm just really waiting for Tales of Arise (SOON ), FF16 and Project Athia to come out so I can play the ***** outta those

@VoidofLight Saw a guy walking out on the street with two PS5 boxes in France earlier this week. Either he was a scalper, or they're hoarding the consoles over there.

@Octane Over here, game stores sadly are only selling them online, and stores like gamestop are being predatory, allowing only their “pro rewards” members to be able to purchase the console. Even if you sign up, they drop the consoles in the early morning, and make it a war between who can spam the buy button fastest.

@Nephestinus Yeah, sadly they’re still really scarce, with Sony originally saying they weren’t probably going to make more until next year, but now due to current world events, that’s probably not possible either.

@Snatcher Agreed. Retail stores don’t prevent them from being scalped in any way, since it gives them a huge boost in cash anyways. It sucks.
