Yes I know I should ask on push square, but I have done and no one is answering...
I have bought a slim PS5 Pro with 2TB of storage, I've installed a lot of games onto it but not enough I don't think to use up all the storage. The storage files show that all storage is used and when I go to reinstall demos that I recently deleted to free up space for another install it understandably says that there is not enough space to install, however when I've tried to install some older PS4 games both with significant file sizes, they worked!! there doesn't seem to be any logic behind what it's choosing to install and not install all based on space left.
I'm wondering whether to do a soft reset and see if that clears up any storage mis-information.
Has anyone here had similar problems or know of a fix.
@simonhamer Is the 2TB of storage internal installed SSD or this is the special model with one 2TB device in it?
1. You have to specify which storage to install the games in. I recently installed 1TB extra storage to my PS5 and I had to tell it to install the games there.
2. IF it is extra storage there is an option in the setting that you tell it specifically where to install PS4 games and separately PS5 games. That is because you can play PS4 games from external HDD as their read speeds are not that demanding compared to PS5 games. PS5 games can only be played from internal memory OR installed extra SSD.
Those are the only 2 things I could think of. Also see if you have the option to transfer games from one SSD to another. You will have that option if you have more than one partition in the console.

I have tried recently to remove the side panels to see if there was space to add another SSD to the console but it was so difficult that I almost thought I was going to break it, anyway there was no space for an extra drive, do you mean that the games could be played from an external SSD as that could be an option for me.
OK, so it finally dawned upon me I'm just out of space and after much cursing and fiddling around finally removed the correct side plate that exposed the SSD expansion slot, I've bought myself a double sized amount of storage (how effin' expensive was that!) and with any luck and the correct tools I'll be able to install it tomorrow, does anyone know once you've formatted the drive whether you can choose where you install your games or have to stick to one or the other.
@simonhamer I assume that it is for the internal expansion slot, then yes.
After you format it you can choose where the games are installed. The option is in the Storage settings. Also you can move already installed games from the base SSD to the new one and vice versa.
The only things you can't choose where to install are OS updates and screenshots + videos. They will always be on the base memory.
