Topic: YouTube Update V2.0

Is anyone experiencing worse performance since the update today? I've noticed browsing is slower and some thumbnails won't even load and some vids won't run after selecting them.

My internet is fine and using YouTube on other devices are fine. This has only happened since the update to V2.0

@Judgedean I haven't seen issues with Firefox on PC & android.

In general, people can't confirm software bugs unless you also include which platform and browser you're using.

Android, iOS, PC, etc.
Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Internet explorer(might be Edge now), etc.

I assume they mean the switch app

I thought it was just me, but YouTube is definitely running slowly on my Switch after the update. I hope they fix it soon.

Can't tell is better or worse, because it still doesn't want to work when using Capture Card. The only issue I had was times for scheduled Live Streams or Premieres, that said 3 hours sooner then it should be when summer time and 2 hours sooner when normal time.

@Dizzy_Boy Same, it was working great till the update. If I knew this, I would have held off updating it. I'm assuming most people don't use the YouTube app on the Switch, since there hasn't been too many people complaining about it.

@Judgedean Oh, on the Switch, forgive me. I got accustomed to people mentioning nintendolife website issues (on phone/tablet/desktop comtpuer), which comes up a few times a year.

Yeah, since you complained about youtube(switch) performance after getting the update, I tried the youtube app, but the Switch forced the update. I can confirm there was no way to avoid that youtube update if you wanted to use youtube on the Switch. So, don't feel guilty about the update.

I rarely use youtube on the Switch, there are times where the video thumbs won't load after a search. (However, if I change tabs or redo the search they will load, but it's still a bug.) The virtual keyboard seems slow to navigate keys with the controller (which I don't think I've ever encountered before on the Switch since launch), and the Home tab doesn't update video offerings reflecting what I've watched until AFTER I've restarted the youtube app.

Was there a Youtube app on Switch? If so the ads on YT are worse then the virus that came come from it. Until you can kills ad popup or inline ads forget using YT anywhere.

Yup, I thought my internet connection got worse but it's just Youtube V2.

This is coming from some won who has 800 hours on the switch version of Youtub, Its worse, in this update.

So unless users can hosts block ads in Youtube as plugin forget about using it on Switch with all the adware on there that is worthless. Even on YT android it's a royal butte pain so I use it on PC with adblocker apps plugins for Chrome and FF and that works wonder to watch adware free YT without problems.

@WoomyNNYes Found it but I find YT has so many adware I only use it limited on Android YT app and only on my PC Desktop/Laptop with adware blockers to make it worth watching YT videos. I know my New 3DS XL has it loaded but that's the only system that has it when it first launched on there. But for Switch FORGET IT.....

I did have it ad block on the PC but after starting a YouTube channel, went Premium, so ads on the TV isn't a problem.
