Topic: Would any of you actually want The Orange Box on Switch?

The Orange Box is a collection of Half-Life 2 with it's episodes 1 & 2, as well as the single player game Portal and the multiplayer game Team Fortress 2. It has been somewhat lost on consoles, with a physical disc of the PS3 or Xbox 360 version being the only option. It was never ported to PS4 or Xbox One, and it was never sold digitally on PS4 (only on Xbox 360).

Now that I got Super Mario 3D All-Stars I was looking at my Switch collection and realized it had become something of a collection of all games I've ever liked. It's far from being complete, but it's still interesting how I have the PS1 Crash games in a new remake, as well as Devil May Cry, FFX and FFXII, a Megadrive collection and lots more.

I wouldn't buy an Orange Box release on Switch unless it was significantly updated with new graphics. Would you?

I would buy it without any upgrade. The Orange Box is one of the best purchases I've ever made (gaming-wise). I probably would've never bought Team Fortress 2 by itself, yet it ended up being one of my most played multiplayer games ever, together with friends who I convinced to buy it as well. Plus I love Half Life (2) and Portal.

EDIT: Btw, the original Orange Box was without the HL2 episodes, but I'd obviously prefer having those be included as well.

Yes, yes I would.

The cake is a lie.

I played the half life games on pc years ago, I would like to play them again, I think the half life games were really about brilliant grahics. So maybe an updated half life would be nice to play @Agriculture how many switch games have you got?

I have it on PS3 and really enjoyed all the games on it, Half-Life 2 remains one of my all-time favorites. This would be a definite purchase on Switch. .

It's a shame Valve doesn't dump all or most of their back catalogue on modern consoles. The Half Life anthology, Orange Box, L4D 1&2, Portal 1&2, Counter Strike all would be great on Switch/PS4/XB1.

Half Life on any modern console would be great, especially bundled in with all the multiplayer add ons and maybe even cross save functionality with your Steam saves

I actually really dug the PS3 version of Portal 2 so putting those games on current or next gen systems would be pretty sick, especially since now you can probably graphically enhance and touch them up to accomodate for stuff like better performance or even official support for ray tracing on PS5/Series X

Only 14. I've never been that much of a hardcore gamer, so I only has around 10 games per system, so I'm not nostalgic for that many games. With the exception of the Command & Conquer series, which I don't think could work on Switch, there is only something like 10 more games before I have every retro game I want on the Switch.

A full remake of Half-Life 1 is something I would want most of all. Especially if they can keep themselves from retconning it to fit Half-Life 2 by adding Dr. Kleiner and all those HL2 characters as unkillable NPCs.

Nah. I’d buy the green box tho. And the purple box if there’s a discount. The blue box is a complete scam tbh

The portal games are some of the only ones I’ve been wanting ever since the switch launched.

If Valve or the port team optimize the games to be 60fps with a decent resolution, I'll bite.

The Orange Box is one of the only games I bought twice when it was fairly new (though granted, Half Life 2 regularly crashing on PC for me was why). So it would not be impossible to convince me to buy it again.

I love Half Life and Portal, but no, I wouldn't.
I have them all on PC and the mods available do more for them than any actual slight 'official' upgrade likely would.

Yes of course, bring it.

I would buy it day one. Half Life 2 and Portal were among the first games I bought for my Nvidia Shield tablet. Considering they ran great on Nvidia's older Tegra, it would be easy to port them over.

No, not at this point. It's incredibly old now, even more so than a lot of the ports Switch gets. I think it would sell half-well, but I really don't think the effort would be worth it.

I already have the games I want from it on Steam, and Valve doesn't really do much with consoles anymore so the chances of it happening are really slim.

Favorite Games:
1. Super Mario Galaxy
2. Portal 2
3. Hollow Knight
4. Fallout 4
5. Persona 4: Golden

I would buy it even though i've played it before. I remember being blown away by the physics when i first played Half Life 2. I would certainly support a Switch port.
